Having offered novels, novellas and plays, Jon Lawrence now offers his first volume of poetry. Moetapu considers some of the darker aspects of life (grief, depression) but often with a quirky humour, while other poems such as The Pigeon are simply hilarious.
Jon Lawrence was born in Pontypridd but now lives in Norfolk with his wife and two children. To date he has written three novels (The Pastoral, Playing Beneath the Havelock House, The Jack Newton Radio), two novellas (Albatross Bay and Bisha), a volume of poetry (Moetapu), a full-length play (The Wallflower Cafe), four children's musicals (Tom Finn and The Windmill, The Inspector and the Spell, What the Donkey Saw and Captain Silver's Christmas), an illustrated book of children's songs (The Music Man's Songbook) and an academic thesis. He has also written a screenplay for a short film called The Bench which is due for release this year. For more information about Jon Lawrence's literary work visit www.jonlawrence.org
