Kevin E. Hatt is a registered operating department practitioner of many years experience.

His love of writing began when he was at school, but on leaving, he didn't write anything more until 1984, when he was inspired by the Lovejoy narratives by Jonathan Gash.

After completing two stories, they were chucked to the back of a cupboard whilst he pursued his other love - that of painting, and there they remained until 2009, when they were resurrected and brought up to date.

Since then, Kevin has completed eighteen of his black comedy Haszard narratives, plus three stories in another series - The DI Bellamy cases, which are more traditional police dramas. To date, two Haszard books have been released, but with so many more to follow, this is only the tip of the iceberg. At present, there is no release date set for the first of the Bellamy tales.

When not writing, Kevin enjoys cricket, running, real ales and decent curries.

I might have been at a disadvantage by not knowing Haszard's backstory. I was struggling with some of the inappropriate things that are said to and about the women in the book. I did not find myself drawn into it as I usually am with a mystery. This is not my usual style of wiring and maybe that is why I found it a bit tedious. The narrative just did not keep me engaged.

Full Circle is a good mystery. The author keeps you guessing the entire book, as Haszard, an amateur detective, tries to find out what happened to a friend's brother, who was thrown off a bridge to his death. There are many questions as Haszard investigates and starts digging into the background of the local town. Apparently, there is a pagan artifact that was on the man that died, and only a few people know anything about the type of object. Those who do know information start ending up murdered before our detective can question them. It's a crazy ride as he and his girlfriend, Sabrina get to know the local people and help the police uncover details of the past weird things that have happened. Haszard has a mouth on him and gives a female officer a hard time....he's supposed to be jesting, but to me it borders on sexual harassment, and his girlfriend's crazy for putting up with it.
Apparently, it's part of his feisty personality. Even so, he has a way of looking at things that helps him solve this mystery, and he pulls it all together in the end, but not before getting into quite a few scrapes and close calls...It's an entertaining read, and an intriguing mystery.

Full Circle was a fun, suspenseful mystery that was full of wit, strong writing and an interesting plot line. Haszard is a likable, unlikely hero, although he is a bit arrogant and some of the dialogue is rather campy. The relationship between him and Sabrina is light and fun and adds another level to the story. There are a lot of characters involved, so the conversations do get lost a bit, but the suspense and excitement keep the story moving. Kevin E. Hatt has crafted an interesting character in Haszard and I would absolutely read more of his work.

Goodread
This is a good book, has a lot going for it a lot if twists and turns, drama, mysterie and suspence. I laught and was on the edge of my seat. The town people are hiding something, what will happen when it comes out. What happens when he finds out what happen to his friends brother.

I received this arc from Netgalley.

This is one of the most boring books that I've ever read. Haszard comes across as just annoying. Way too much detail really bogs this book down.
I ended up reading other books while I read this because it was such a drag. I definitely would not read anything else by this author.

Story was ok. Took me 3 days to get through it. Was like a private eye type of book and was not very exciting. Kind of upset about how the main character interacted with the female characters. Did not like the book.

Book narratives are always hard to get into, this one being no different. It's not a bad storyline and I didn't think Haszard was as sexist as everyone has mentioned in other reviews. There was suspense, murder, mystery and investigations into pagan religion/beliefs that for me personally was very interesting. Haszard and the rest of the support characters all have a quick sense of humor that had me laughing out loud a time or two. This is not my preferred genre so for me to have enjoyed it in any way, it must have some potential. I give 4/5 stars for review and a recommendation to murder mystery fans to give this one a chance.

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review of it. The opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's.***

Full Circle by Kevin E. Hatt is a mystery novel about a character named Haszard who tends to get mixed up in situations that are odd and puzzling and Full Circle definitely follows suit with that. When Haszard is asked by a friend to look into the death of a friend of theirs who was allegedly in two places at once he knows that on a level he should say no but he decides to get involved thinking it to be rather a simple thing. Turns out things are way deeper than they appear and that they only get stranger the deeper he goes and tries to uncover the mystery behind what really happened. In the end...will things come...full circle?
When I first started reading this book I was really hopeful. I'm a huge fan of mystery novels and thought that this book would be a great fit and with the cover design on it it really looked intriguing as well. Now this book has it's good elements that draw you in moments but the book never really fully pulled me in like I would have liked for it to. Haszard is a fun character overall and there is definitely humor in this story which made me laugh out loud at some of the things that he said. But sometime the story was a bit hard to follow as it would get a bit convoluted. Now the problem may have been with the lack of...editing...because there are a ton of places of where the worlds literally all run together and you have to stop and back track and reread what you just read in order for it to make sense which was not something I enjoyed doing to be honest. But as the story starts getting closer to the end that's when things begin to come together and pick up speed. All in all I think that with a few tweaks here and there this book could be improved and be made more enjoyable. This is a good mystery novel and Haszard is definitely a unique character who has a personality all is own.
Overall I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. I liked it but I think that it needs a bit of work.

Haszard, “Haz” to his friends, may seem an odd name for a medical doctor who dabbles in mysteries, but according to the text he cannot stomach his given name. For the purpose of this review, we’ll accept that and stick with “Haz”. Haz’s better part, Sabrina, is learning to accompany him on adventures as varied as the landscape. His other friends are along for the ride lending a helping hand when needed…except for Grace, whose talent for getting lost in the moment as well as geographically is as large as her generous heart.

So when Suzie, a mutual friend of Grace and Haz, asked Haz to look into the mysterious death of her brother Dean Haz can’t say “no” in spite of Sabrina’s initial skepticism. When they find that Dean may have been murdered by a group practicing ancient Druid rituals of human sacrifice, the call to find the truth becomes too much for either of them to bear. What they encounter involves several small towns and a large number of people none of whom want them poking around and are willing to take whatever steps are necessary to discourage their investigation.

Full Circle is a well written narrative first person narrative. Haszard, as the narrator, is almost too detailed at times, but seems to make jumps at other times. Nevertheless, the story is easy to follow and a bit tedious since it takes place over a period of days among the normal activities, such as work, of Haz and Sabrina’s life. The other characters are believable and more than willing to help up to a point. Grace, who has no real part in the story other than as a delightful distraction manages to catalyze the action through her antics by bringing Haz into contact into certain people at just the right time to provide key information essential to the story.

Full Circle should be enjoyed by readers of cozy mysteries who love nail-biting threats of danger without actually having to see the characters face it. It is entertaining, sometimes humorous, and a great choice for a winter read in front of crackling fire.

This book started out seeming to be reminiscent of old noir private detective novels. It quickly devolved into a story where the leading man "jokingly" says terribly sexual and\or harassing things to the female characters. The only character that stands up to him "comes around" halfway through the book.
SPOILERS
At one point, the story foreshadows by having the yet unknown main bad guy say, "what if it is the whole town?" It was so obvious that it felt like the book sabotaged itself. To make matters worse, the supposedly genius main character doesn't notice it. Sherlock Holmes he is not.
This is a book that men might be amused by, but it is crude none the less. Add to that a plot that feels like a poor man's "Da Vinci Code."
It is beyond me how this is the most recent addition to a long running series.

It has been said many times that it is all in the details, and you certainly won't find a lack of them in this book. In fact, there are so many details about the minutia about the main character's life, that you might just fall asleep before you finish the book. I nearly did.

This would be a much more interesting book, in my opinion, if the narrative ran smoother. Perhaps there are others who will like this writing style, but I found that it made it impossible for me to get into the book and feel any closeness to the characters.

Read the book and see what you think. It just wasn't for me.

This book was a nice read. It's told as a book narrative which took me a little while to get into. The main person in the book is Haszard who is extremely interesting with a wonderful quick sense of humour and just oozes life. The story itself is a bit far fetched but it was nice to immerse myself into. It did seem to lose its way in the middle for a little while but it's where everything in the investigation was not moving very far forward and the team were chasing their tail a bit so therefore being told as a narrative this was reflected by my feeling of it losing its way. All in all a nice read about a loveable group of people

I received a complimentary copy of Full Circle by Kevin Hatt.
I have not read any books by Kevin Hatt, so this was my first experience with the Haszard series. I think this was a disadvantage as there are references to past plot lines.
I had difficulty understanding some of the words and meanings as they are written in an English format and this too made it difficult to understand the character's tone and discussions.
If you follow the series, you will find this a worthwhile read. For me, it was ok - the plot meanders and I didn't feel connected to the characters.
Just ok for me.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Koehler Books for giving me the opportunity to read this book which I voluntarily reviewed.
I had read a previous book about Haszard so I knew when I started that it was not going to be a run of the mill crime thriller. It certainly wasn't!
I think quirky is the right way to describe it but quirky in a very enjoyable way.
There were parts that stretched the imagination, but I found that that was what I liked about the book.
I'll certainly be reading more books in this series.

This was a quick read, but that was the good part. Maybe it's because it's a series and I didn't have enough background information, but I just couldn't get into it. The characters didn't click with me and the main character was just a jerk. He wasn't nearly as witty as he thought. If you've read the rest of the series, I'm sure you would probably love it.
