I wish I read this book 6 years ago.
Every single page makes me think and energize me. Sometimes I disagree and most of the time I have to admit I was wrong. I like the whole concept and I think does not matter the size of your company you should always think about in that large scale. I knew lot of things I have read in this book but it helped to connect the dots.

I would say 2,5 starts because I don't really like the book but it's a good source of references to go deeper in different topics such as lean or agile development.

To be fair, I have not read the book itself. But starting from the index of the book I have been visiting the web articles, so I could say that I have read the future reference manual of SAFE 4.5 :) This reference manual is simply huge. The articles are short but the references to other elements of the framework and the open space to deepen with references to books or articles to be able to understand well the approach makes learning the framework a titanic task.

On the framework itself, I think it has improved both in its contents and in its diagrams and that it compiles a compendium of good practices, principles and values ​​of Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, Lean Startup, etc. which makes it a curious place to get ideas. However, and despite its modularity in version 4.5, it is overly prescriptive and complex. Sometimes with practices disguised as agility under a huge bureaucracy and almost fanciful planning.

So I think it has improved as reference manual and framework but it is still a difficult brick to digest.

Strong overview of scaled agile framework. This does bring in many tenants of agile processes. While the intro chapter did put me off, the overall feel does combine many of the best practices I've seen, and used, across the years.

This is a great reference - but do not this is only a reference.
