Title: Tempestuous
Author: Nicole Austin

I've never had the chance to read one of Nicole Austin's books before and I'm glad i had the chance to read Tempestuous. The story about a book keeper with her own business that was always interested in the kink and the elusive invite only clubs that she always kept under lock and key, no matter how strong her curiosity, was just perfect.

 photo 4 Buttons_zpsh19grlob.jpg

I had no idea when I first began reading that this was a re edit and re release, but to watch Evie meet the new couple and be invited to tag along in a private tour of the club, then her meeting Niko was quite the treat. I won't lie though, it did take me a short bit to get fully immersed in the story, but once I did, the ride was entirely worthwhile.

 photo 4 Orgasm Button_zpslila3vr1.jpg

As things began to heat up between these two, so did their relationship and chemistry - there was no way I could have ever thought there was no realism or tangible feelings. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride; who wouldn't love to see a man fulfill a woman's every desire, even those that she didn't know she had? Even her own boss as a business owner, Evie thrilled me. She was strong, independent and her curiosity knew ne bounds, and Niko was exactly what you'd expect from a Dom - silent, calculating (in the good way), and dominant, willing to take the time and patient enough to teach a new submissive what it means to fully submit to a man and her desires. I enjoyed Nicole Austin's Tempestuous and can't wait to see what else she has in store.

Niko is sexy, sophisticated and charming – a triple threat! When he says his endearment ‘moy kotik’ (my pet) he makes you want to swoon. Evie is about to get a crash course in how to be a Sub by the Dom that everyone wants to play with. Shame her mouth can sometimes get her in trouble with him. She is at an erotica convention with her bookstand where she decides to explore some other stands. It’s here she meets Sir Caine and Michelle (a Dom/Sub married couple) who have invited her to come with them on an exclusive slot to club Rendezvous. She is meant to just observe, to get a feel for it as she has always been intrigued, but the moment Niko lays his eyes on her everything changes.

Loved Niko’s reaction when he first sees Evie. Its like nought to sixty with how quick he wants to stake his claim that he wants her and that nobody plays with her but him. He gets a little shock when informed she is not clued up on their world completely but is there to watch. He notices that she has the natural feel for a Sub and wants the chance to be the one to show her the world he likes to play in.

You can almost feel Evie fall under his spell the moment he takes her hand to kiss it. Saying ‘enchanted’ and she almost swoons. She has to cope with dinner first before getting to the club but that just makes her more nervous in a giddy way. Once at the club though the fun really starts, Niko is in full Dom mode and is not likely to let her get away with much. A few slip ups without calling him Sir is one thing when it’s just them and she is too overwhelmed by everything she sees to remember but a loud “kiss my ass” in front of a crowd and that’s another matter altogether. Spanking bench anyone? But don’t worry Evie Niko is only giving you what you really want, even if you don’t know it yet.

Very addictive reading with this one. Desires and longings soon coming to the surface, Evie just needed the right man to get her there. To see what she really wanted/needed and to give it to her – Sir Niko is most definitely that man. She may be a natural Sub but still has moments of being a brat, especially when feeling jealous. She may feel bold in the moment but when reality sets in she knows she’s in for some punishment – but hey she soon learns that if she can handle it then she will get a really good reward. Pleasure is sure to follow – who wants to fly?

A night she won’t forget in a hurry with a man she longs to have claim her but distance might cause some issues. That is another day’s worry as she is still in town for the convention so when Niko invites her on a date the only answer is yes. Talk about one hell of a date though, dinner is lovely but dessert is deliciously wicked. All he wants is Evie on the menu and once he gets a taste he has no intention of letting her go, his only thought being how quick he can collar her. He sure knows how to explore her hidden desires, not that she is complaining one bit. Well maybe not until the next morning that is. Trust me when you hear something Evie overhears Gage (Niko’s best friend) say to Niko in his office you may be thinking ‘oh hell no’ right alongside her. A very big ‘no’ from her but she needs to learn to tell Niko these things rather than run away for them to have any kind of future.

Found Evie’s friend of reason Amanda was a good balance to her back and forth feelings, her and Michelle really as she could give her a first hand account of what to expect. Everything happening was so intense from the start that it was no wonder she would freak at times. Niko can be held to blame at moments too so its not just all on her. They both need to learn to talk to each other more to stop the misunderstandings from happening. Something tells me that they will be learning from their mistakes, as neither has any intention of letting the other go. Tempestuous is a fun whirlwind romance that dives head first into the world of a BDSM Dom/Sub relationship. Bet Evie is glad she went to that convention now because it ended up being the start of something deviously hot.

I received this ARC from Words Turn Me On for my honest review.

BEST BDSM/EROTIC STORY i HAVE READ IN A LONG TIME......

Nicole Austn is a new author to me, how I have not come across her before amazes me. Tempestuous was brilliant. I love reading books in the BDSM/Erotic Genre and this one fits in there beautifully.....I would have to put it up there in my top 5 for this Genre.

Evie Sloane, owns and runs her own book store and in doing so, she has read many books involving BDSM and erotica.....but unfortunately what you read and what you experience in real life are not necessarily the same thing. Evie has a stall, for her bookshop, at an Erotica Convention, it is here that her eyes begin to open about the lifestyle. She meets Michelle and Caine, oops Sir Caine and they extend an invitaion to Evie to Rendezvous, an exclusive BDSM Club, which she accepts. Prior to going to the Rendezvous, the have dinner, this is where she meets Niko Kovalenko, a Master Dom.

The attraction between the two of them is instantaneous. In fact the heat is so hot...the pages burn on many occasions. As soon as Evie sees Niko, she is totally blown away.

Time stopped. Everyone and everything else faded away. There was only him.
I've died and this must be heaven.
He is the Dom.
Sexy, sophisticated and charming - a triple threat!

Niko is equally affected by Evie. he wants her desperately and not only that he wants to possess her. Theses emotions he feels towards her, render him almost speechless - never has a woman affected him in this way. he wants to stake his claim, so that no other man will ever have her. He is stunned to learn that she knows very little of the lifestyle, now he wants to be the one to teach her all that there is to know.

The experiences that night at the club open Evie's eyes even more. Her interactions with Niko are like molten lava - so hot that they would burn you. But there are several problems that the two must overcome in order to make their relationship work. Evie lives in another city, so distance, and the fact that Evie is a beginner in Niko's world. Her assumptions of how Niko would like their relationship to be cause a huge miscommunication between them.

But I must say the BDSM scenes between the two, as well as the vnilla scene, are some of the best and hottest sex scenes that I have read. The wax scene would have to be a favourite of mine in this story.

The side characters of Amanda and Michelle, balance out Evie perfectly. They are both there to provide her with the warmth, friendship and advice that she needs to make a decision that will affect her entre future. Sir Caine is also a character who I enjoyed reading about. His no-nonsense way, in regards to who and what is had me sniggering on several ocassions.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was one flaming hot masterpiece. I will definitely be reading more of Nicole Austin's books from now on.

FIVE scorcing hot STARS.

I have read some of Nicole’s books that have been part of Naughty Literati boxsets. This is the first full book I have read of hers and I loved it. Evie is the owner of a bookstore and has read her fair share of BDSM books. She is curious about how it would be to go to one and participate. She gets her wish when she makes some new friends at a convention. She is introduced to Niko by her new friends who invite her to a local club, turns out that real life isn’t like in the books. What is expected of a sub and how immersed in the seen everyone is is different for each couple or person. Niko has lost his spark with the world of BDSM. He has been there and done that. Then he meets Evie. There is something about her as a woman and her newness to BDSM. He enjoys teaching her and showing her things at the club. She twists him up like no one ever before. Evie isn’t sure she is submissive enough to be part of the seen. She enjoys her freedom and independence; she doesn’t want to give that all up to be told how to act and what to do by a man. Will they be able to find a middle ground that works for both of them? Evie has a lot of assumptions about what is to be expected of her as a sub from reading books. However not all of that is true. She learns a lot about what is fiction and what is real life. Niko finds that Evie is a breath of fresh air and he likes how he challenges him. I connected with Evie a lot. I too have read a lot of BDSM romance books and I am intrigued by it. I wonder how that all works and how it would be to participate. Visiting a BDSM club is on my bucket list for sure. To give over all the responsibility and receive so much in return interests me. I really enjoyed this book and would love to read more about the characters.

Evie Sloan is the owner of a bookstore and has always been curious about the BDSM lifestyle after reading about it in many books. She has no clue on what is real and what is made up by the authors. When she is invited to attend Club Rendevous with Michelle and Caine Thorne she comes across many things that shock her but she is surprised at some of the things that peak her interest.

When Dom Niko Kovalenko sees Evie he knows that he must be the one that introduces her to the lifestyle. When she questions his authority he can't believe how attracted he is to her. He is not satisfied with the amount of time they spent together and wants to see her outside of the club.

But Evie still has many questions and is not sure that this lifestyle is for her. She also doesn't believe that she is attractive or skilled enough to keep someone like Niko around. When their busy lives keep them apart will they be able to meet somewhere in the middle or are they setting themselves up for heartbreak?

I enjoyed this book and loved some of the differences from what Evie thought happened at a BDSM club and what really did happen. I loved how she got into trouble with her mouth and her inability to keep it closed! There were definitely some parts that really made me laugh.

The differences between the Niko and Evie were evident but so was the wanting of each to be truly loved and cared for. When Evie thought Niko was going to share her she freaked and left without hearing what he had to say. He gives her the ability to learn at her own pace and truly cared a lot about her.

The ending was great and truly showed how far they both had come.

I'm so torn on this book! I loved the concept of this book and some parts of it but some other details felt forced just to keep the story moving. If I take the book as a whole, then it was okay but if I break it down to its essential story line, I really liked it and would definitely recommend it. The two main characters, Evie and Niko, meet through a new friend/couple that Evie met at a conference when they invite her to go to a BDSM club with them for the night and it's on from there. LOL This is an instant attraction, not insta-love story which I much prefer. The story takes place over almost a year with a long distance relationship with the HEA culminating close to the end of the book. I'd like to read the other character's stories especially Gage.

Here's where the odd things start for me: There are several instances where there should be more explanation of events such as Evie's past experience with a boyfriend that hurt her and then there's the "interest" that Evie shows to Niko's friend Gage at the end of the book. She was extremely adamant that she didn't want to be shared with Gage almost to the point of avoiding him and then she gets all hot and bothered for Gage when he kisses her wrist at the end of the book with Niko standing right there. Niko doesn't say anything about this little incident even though he's super jealous and wanted to go find the first guy that Evie kissed when she was young and kill him just for touching her earlier in the book. Things don't jive with this unless this is a lead in to another book.

See what I mean when I say that I'm torn?

My Blackraven's Review of this title:

Tempestuous certainly sums up the heroine to this story…well it is most likely an apt description for both main characters; emotional, passionate, and wild. Evie was such a great heroine for Tempestuous by Nicole Austin. She was outgoing, yet reticent; bold and daring, yet reserved. The dichotomies of her personality were what made this story all the more realistic. Aren’t we all a little bit of everything from time to time, as situations change? It was great to see a character that was so relatable. Niko was your typical dominant, alpha male personality…well, that’s all I’m going to tell you about him, but you’ll find he’s much more than that as well.
As you can probably tell, the character development in Tempestuous was great. You were dragged into their lives and were able to watch the entire goings on as if you had a front row seat. The flow of the book was perfect; each page had you wanting to turn to the next. I hadn’t read a Nicole Austin story before, but I can assure you it won’t be my last.

The BDSM scenes and sexual content were unique and always fresh throughout the story. The passion between the characters was outstanding. The ending left you satisfied, but wanting more. There is certainly room for a sequel with Evie’s friend and Gage, and I, for one, am hoping that Ms. Austin has that book planned. If you haven’t read a story by this author, this may well be the perfect one to start with.

Tempestuous is a great BDSM romance that's full of emotion, love and steamy bedroom (and dungeon) scenes. I liked both of the main characters and felt connected to them. This is the first book that I've read by this author, but I will definitely be reading more in the future. The book was easy to read, the story flowed well and the dialogue was crisp. The storyline was interesting, it was a real page turner.

Evie is intrigued by the sensual, decadent world of BDSM, so when she gets the opportunity to visit a club she jumps at the chance. Niko is an experienced Dominant, but lately he's become jaded by the scene. When he meets Evie he is immediately intrigued by her, and knows that he wants to make her his. Evie enjoys every steamy moment between her and Niko, but she struggles to come to terms with her submission. Her body says it wants to submit to Niko's demands - but her brain doesn't always agree.

The chemistry between Niko and Evie was sizzling - there is no doubt that these two were red hot together and very compatible sexually. They struggled more with communication between each other and because of this they had some ups and downs in their relationship. I enjoyed Evies's discovery of her darker sexual nature, and the way that Niko skilfully drew this side of her out. Overall I found this book very enjoyable so it receives five out of five stars.

This was a good story that takes the reader into the world of BDSM. If the reader has already read some of these stories or done her own research, none of this will be new.

Evie has also read some stories herself, and while she seems to have a basic knowledge of how D/s works, she misses the mark enough times that I wanted to smack her upside the back of her head. Niko is your typical, attractive, domly Dom: tall, dark, and handsome with a foreign accent. What that accent is, I couldn't say. I don't remember seeing it anywhere. He's based in Florida, his family is rich, and travels constantly for his business. As a side note, when I read his description and saw that his name was Niko, my mind immediately jumped to this guy who modeled a few times for Playgirl several years back, who also happens to be named Niko. I wonder if that was on purpose?? (Google the man! You won't be sorry!)

Anyway, girl and boy meet, boy spanks girl, boy and girl screw like monkeys, girl flees in fear, boy and girl start relationship that develops problems, yada, yada, yada, boy collars girl, everybody's happy.

Would I recommend this book? Sure. It's a good read. I just didn't get emotionally engaged in it. The sex was steamy, but not enough to melt my underwear. Of course, my kink is not your kink.

Give this book a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Evie Sloan got an invitation that she can’t refuse. She seems conflicted about what she wants. She switches so fast your head turns and you’ll say “What?” Niko Kovalenko is a man of power. You will see how he embraces Evie’s inquisitiveness. He almost feeds off of it.

The author certainly knows how to build anticipation for both the characters and her readers. What impressed me was that Ms. Austin has created a female character with body issues. And we have the perfect male that doesn’t see her body type as an issue. This is one thing that puts a reality spin on the story. Even though this is a fictional tale, it holds a ring of truth where you can picture scenes actually happening. The scenes that were created may sound like something you would love to explore but if you’re not in the BDSM scene please take care. It’s nice to explore your sexuality but you need to do it safely.

Evie’s story had me visiting the type of conference where her sexual adventure begins. And one of these days maybe that will happen. If you like your stories hot and sexy than you may want to check this book out. It held my attention from beginning to end and left me wanting more.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

So I read this tale that follows Evie, a bookstore owner who wants to explore her sexual side, and Niko an experienced Dom.
The two meet through a friend that Evie meets at a book signing event.
I loved that Evie was inexperienced but mature, I found her relatable and lived finding out things through her eyes. I learnt things in this book that I've not come across in several other bdsm books I've read. Niko is hot but a little overwhelming and possessive. Although bordering on Insta love the author counteracts that by extending the time line so the relationship grows more authentically.
I wasn't keen on the third person POV I personally prefer first person for books like this as you end up being told what the characters feel rather than letting you feel it with them. I found this made me quite disconnected from the characters but even with the third person POV the author didn't really let the downsides of this hamper her in telling the story and the plot flowed well and was believable mostly.
Overall I quite enjoyed the story all in all.

This was my first read by Nicole Austin. I love BDSM based book and this one really hit the spot!
Evie's selling erotica...so she's curious...of course she is, I know I am!
She meets some friends who are into "the scene" and she's invited along to see a real life sex club and a demonstration.
Niko is more than intrigued with this tempting little treat, Evie, from the moment he first meets her. He can't wait to introduce her to the the world that is BDSM...but can Evie really handle handing over her control? Can she really submit, not just play at it?
Nicole Austin's writing was great! I was entertained throughout the entire story. It never fell flat or lacked excitement. I often found myself wanting to be in Evie's place. Her characterization was great. You could feel how enthralled Evie became...even when she wanted to hold her own against Niko, she never came across as weak, incompetent or whiny.
I can't wait to read another Nicole Austin story!

Good stuff! No idea what to expect and it was pretty good. The characters were interesting, the story kept you engaged and the scenes were pretty hot too!
We have our novice but intrigued sub and our experienced and jaded dom. They meet and sparks fly, he pushes to hard, she rebels, he keeps it up, she folds. Sometimes Evie was a little too bipolar for my liking, she switched moods and ideas like a testy teen. She did this less, but it propelled parts of the story along, so it was annoying rather than a deal breaker.
Niko seemed a little to spacy sometimes too. He knew she didn't know anything, but failed to ask her questions and failed to explain his actions to her. In some ways, these two were perfect for each other. But it was a good read, and they did fit together quite nicely most of time!

So this is a re-release and it has been re-edited. I really enjoyed the way Evie explored the kink side. At times things seemed a bit forces, awkward or didn’t truly make sense, but overall the basic story was good and I loved the concept of a strong Dom being completely shocked by his attraction to a newbie. There were moments that things seemed to be spiraling out of control and then the next minute things were completely on track and then it was out of control. A bit of whiplash. I did enjoy the ending, but it seemed to switch from out of control to resolved very quickly. I solid 4 stars.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Evie Sloan is eager to learn of the BDSM lifestyle but is a novice. She is invited by a Dom friend and his sub to tour and observe at a famous club, all while "safely" under his protection. As they meet up with the group for dinner before the club, Evie is introduced to Niko Kovalenko, a very popular Dom, who immediately knows that he wants to be the only Dom who introduces her to the lifestyle.

The sizzle between Niko and Evie jumps off the pages! And, Niko takes sexy to a whole new level. The ceremonies toward the end made me wish I was standing in Evie's shoes... this book is HOT!

Highly recommended and will be a definite re-read for me!

This book is amazing. The author brings your into the wild world of BDSM in a way that even a novice reader can understand. Her characters are by far my favorite that I have read in the genre. This is a must read.
