What would you do if the day that was supposed to be the happiest of your life took a turn for the worst? Lilly Swanson didn't know the answer to that question until it happened, her fiance left her at the altar and the day that was supposed to be full of smiles and happy tears turned into a day of heart-wrenching tears and pain. So she leaves. Just grabs her passport and goes on her honeymoon alone. Well, alone until she meets free-spirited Damien.
I'm kicking myself for not reading this book sooner! I know it's been around for awhile but I just heard of it recently and I was definitely missing out on something special. I loved reading about Lilly and her journey throughout this book. This author wrote her story perfectly because while reading it was like getting to know your best friend.
The majority of the book focused on Lilly while the relationship between Lilly and Damien was kind of pushed into the background. Usually that would bother me because I need my romance in stories, but in Burning Moon I ended up loving that we could focus so much on Lilly. I just found her character intriguing and the more we learned about her the more I liked her.
There was also a good amount of humor put into the story that I loved. There were moments that I found myself laughing out loud and not even caring that I looked like a crazy person laughing in public. The bottom line is that this is a book worth reading if you haven't already. And now it's available in paperback which is even better!

Burning Moon by Jo Watson is a heartwarming chick lit that reminds me of Bridget Jones Diary meets Eat, Pray, Love. In this emotional and heartfelt tale, Ms. Watson takes her readers on a raw, vulnerable journey of a young twenty-something woman discovering that her life is not over and it’s only just beginning.
For Lily Swanson, her picture perfect life and dream came to abrupt halt when the man she thought she was gonna spend the rest of her life with informs her via a note that he’s sorry and can’t marry her on the day of her wedding day. Yes, this book had a romantic undertone with the insertion of Damien into the storyline but what I love about this book that it was not the main focus. The main focus was Lily and her growth as an individual and Ms. Watson did a tremendous job shedding and stripping Lily as her insecurity and fears are laid bare for the readers to see. This allowed readers to understand and feel for Lily more than just as a jilted bride. Jo Watson did an incredibly job writing such a heartwarming and raw story. This book definitely took me on a journey of learning to let go and embrace what life has to offer. So if you are looking for a book that highlights the important lessons of life then I urge you to go on this journey with Lily as she reclaims back her happiness, life, and heart.

Burning Moon was a romance that suddenly popped up one day on the iBooks store, for a free deal. I had seen this novel trending on Wattpad a few years ago so decided to give it a try. I am a little bit cautious when it comes to reading adult romances. I like mine to be cute, slow-burning and mainly clean. Sadly, this was not the romance I wanted to see. Lilly has always wanted to get married and sure enough, the big day arrives which she is really excited about. However, instead of marrying her true love, he dumps her at the alter in front of over 500 guests, mainly close friends and family. Without thinking, Lilly decides that she is going to go on her honeymoon to Thailand alone, just without any of her friends or her now ex-fiancé. During the flight, she meets a backpacker called Damien who on arrival, become acquainted. Together, they travel and end up at an exclusive party called Burning Moon. There, Lily has to choose between going home or travelling the world with Damien.
I haven't read many stories set in Thailand before, so this appealed to me a lot. Some of the awkward moments involving Lilly such as turning up at the airport and boarding a flight whilst still in pyjamas made me laugh. Personally, the romance was too steamy but that is just me personally as a reader of romance novels. Those who really like their steam will really like Burning Moon. Also, some of the events that occurred throughout the novel, I just couldn't relate to. There is swearing, sex scenes and tears. I can definitely say that readers over the age of 18+, who really love their romance will enjoy this one.

I really enjoyed the writing but the story was all far-fetched, cheesy and slightly cringe.
Lilly goes on her honeymoon to Thailand alone because her fiancé didn’t show up to the wedding. There, within DAYS she falls head over heels in love with a weird, tattooed dude she meets on the plane. Ehm, lady, you were supposed to get MARRIED yesterday and today you are already in love with someone else? IN LOVE? I get it, the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else, but that’s not what happened here. It was all way too fast and I didn’t believe all the big feelings for a second.
Then there was a third-act breakup because the tattooed dude wanted to continue eat-pray-loving through the world and was disappointed that Lilly wasn’t ready to drop everything and join him: c’mon Lilly, it’s only a year! It should have been your cue to leave, Lilly. The man is mentally sixteen years old, don’t waste your time, girl.
Oh well.

Meine Gedanken dazu:
Der Anfang war wie so oft über eine Braut, die kurz vor der Trauung von dem Typen sitzengelassen wird. Dabei kennt keiner den Grund und den nächsten Tag verbringt Lilly verständlicherweise in Selbstmitleid, bis sie genug davon hat und sich spontan dazu entschließt, ihre Flitterwochen in Thailand alleine anzutreten. Dabei ist sie aber so durch den Wind, dass sie noch mit Tränen verronnen Gesicht, Wuschelkopf und rosa Pyjama mit Hausschlapfen in den Flieger steigt. Was nicht nur die anderen belustigt, sondern auch den dunklen Kerl ganz in schwarze und so gar nicht Lillys Typ, auf sie aufmerksam macht. Jedoch kommt es dazu, dass sie mehr Zeit miteinander verbringen und Lilly erkennt durch den Weltenbummler Damien, wie eingeschränkt ihr Leben bisher war, wie oberflächlich und was sie dich bisher alles versagt hat. Aus ihr wird quasi fast ein neuer Mensch und bald sind auch Gefühle da, die so viel echter erscheinen als jene für ihren Ex Verlobten.
Ich habe länger gebraucht, um in die Geschichte rein zu kommen. Außerdem konnte ich die ganze Zeit keine richtige Verbindung zu Lilly aufbauen oder brauchte auch eine gewisse Dauer, um mit Damien warm zu werden. Außerdem haben mich diese langen Rückblenden von Lilly bei jedem Kapitelanfang total aus der Geschichte gerissen und mich nach der Zeit eher ermüdet, anstatt mich Lilly verbundener zu fühlen.
Insgesamt fand ich die Reise der beiden zwar interessant, aber in ihre Rolle würde ich trotzdem nicht schlüpfen wollen. Da bin ich wohl zu wenig Abenteuerlustig oder habe zu große Spinnenangst.^^ Auch fand ich es schade, dass nur aus Lillys Sicht erzählt wurde. Irgendwie bin ich es schon so gewöhnt, aus beiden Sichten zu lesen, dass mir etwas abgeht, wenn dem wie hier nicht der Fall ist.
Das Ende ging dann mit dem letzten Gespräch auch viel zu schnell nach dem langen Cut und auch hier hätte ich mir mehr erhofft. Man weiß so gut wie nichts von Damien oder seiner Familie, seine Probleme werden nicht wirklich geklärt. Man weiß nur, was für ein Hengst er doch ist, gerne reist und Lilly verfallen ist. Fertig. Da wünsche ich mir schon mehr von einem Buch, das mich auf ganzer Linie überzeugen soll.

Loved this book so much. Lilly Swanson is about to be married, she has her life all planned out, that is until her Fiance leaves her standing at the Altar. Misery swamps her and then a snap decision is made to go on her Honeymoon alone, after all it's all already paid for.
Destiny took the shape as a rugged handsome stranger on the flight to Thailand, Damien. He's not Lilly's type at all, and people including Damien keep staring at her... then she realises that in her rush to make the flight, she's left home in her Pj's, Bunny slippers and all.
A series of events follow forcing both Damien and Lilly together, some might call it fate. Eventually Lilly realises that she can't just up sticks and leave her job and family behind to go with Damien trekking around the world for a year. This just isn't her... will this be goodbye for both of them or will love conquer all.
An absolutely brilliant tale, an adventure about love and the hurdles that come with it.

Oh man, soviel Herzschmerz und Kitsch und Romantik - ich glaub, ich brauch jetzt erst mal wieder nen ordentlichen Thriller.
Nichts desto trotz hat es mir wahnsinnig viel Spaß gemacht, dieses Buch zu lesen.
Lilly, die Perfektionistin, das verschreckte Küken, die wandelnde Panikattacke - die ging mir zeitweise echt auf den Keks.
Lilly, die Verrückte, die Chaotische, die Spontane - die fand ich klasse.
Ihre zeitweise skurrilen Gedanken haben mich wirklich oft belustigt auflachen lassen, fast immer musste ich schmunzeln.
Schnell hat man das verrückte Huhn ins Herz geschlossen, fiebert mit ihr, leidet mir ihr, freut sich mit ihr.
Die Autorin schafft es auf ganz wunderbare Art, den Leser mitzunehmen - obwohl ich nichts erwartet habe, habe ich es in 2 Tage weggelesen.
Es war zu keiner Zeit langweilig - entweder war gerade real etwas los, wenn nicht, dann zumindest in Lilly's Kopf.
Der Schreibstil war toll, die Seiten ließen sich flüssig weglesen, es hat Spaß gemacht - klasse :)

3.5 stars. I enjoy Jo Watson's romantic comedies and this is another fun read. Lilly is left at the altar and in a daze decides to go to her honeymoon destination, Thailand. She makes it onto the plane only to discover she is still in her pajamas and fluffy pink slippers which attracts a lot of attention. Matters slowly improve once she gets to Thailand and she meets Damien while being accused of drug smuggling at the airport. A lovely setting and fun characters, I appreciate the genuine character growth in these comedies. Highly recommend for a fun read.

Wow, jsem moc ráda, že jsem se nechala zlákat a přešla tu kýčovitou obálku. Tohle je totiž parádní počteníčko. Plné trapasů, ironie, dobrodružství a romantického plkání, které dokonale funguje. Opravdu mě to bavilo. Jasně, není to žádné světoborné čtivo, ale je to kniha, která je jako stvořená pro příjemný večer u sklenky vína, povzbudí, pobaví a pohladí. Příjemná romantická zápletka, možná sice trošku klišoidní, ale opět dokonale fungující. A víte vy co? Celkem jsem se tím příběhem namlsala, takže jsem s radostí uvítala na konci knihu malou ochutnávku dalšího příběhu, který se bude týkat jedné z vedlejších postav.
Jooo, trapasy ve stylu Bridget J. tam opravdu jsou :-D a co se týká přirovnání k Jíst, meditovat, milovat, tak něco maličko to do sebe má...takové to procitnutí ;-).

Lilly is such a drama queen. All the time a situation isn't the way she had imagined it and not at all matching her colorful dreams - she literally freaks out, panics and her thoughts run wild. Even after one year of changes she hasn't really changed one tiny bit. New haircut, new color, yes, but the rest stays the same. Crazy, freaking out thoughts, senseless fear and panic over nothing. And that woman calls herself a grownup? Not in my world.
The writing style the author uses is sarcastic, sort of fun to read and full of drama. Some hilarious scenes show the humor Jo Watson has and the setting is really beautiful. But the rest? Not sure if I will read another book of this series or the author in general. Too exhausting ....

This is a romantic comedy about Lily, a young bride in South Africa who is left at the altar & decides to go alone to Thailand on her planned honeymoon. Parts of this story were very funny, especially her trip to the airport and flight experience. Lily’s experience meeting Damien and going on adventures with him were mystifying to me. It added some tension and helped the story move forward.
What I learned about Thailand was mostly within the realm of partying and nightlife. However, the story prompted me to do a bit of research about Thailand and the islands that Lily visited.
I read this book for an Around the World Challenge. I am not usually a fan of romantic comedy, but I did enjoy this book and learned a bit about Thailand at the same time. I rate it 4 stars.
What I learned about Thailand was mostly within the realm of partying and nightlife. However, the story prompted me to do a bit of research about Thailand and the islands that Lily visited.

Hmmm.
I read this because I actually spotted the second one while browsing iBooks and when I went to have a look at the first I discovered that I already had it. I download stacks of free books every week and then generally pick through when I’m looking for something and choose ones to read at random. I was looking for something to read before bed and this isn’t too long so I ended up finishing it in one night.
Lily is humiliatingly dumped by her fiance just before she’s about to walk down the aisle to marry him, leaving her a simple note and disappearing off the face of the earth. Lily wallows for a while before she makes a snap decision to fly to Thailand on her own and go on the honeymoon they were supposed to have. On the plane she makes eye contact with a man and he pops up several times both on the flight and after. Damien shows Lily a completely different holiday to the one she was expecting and along the way she completely realigns what it is she wants out of life and especially love.
I love the idea of this. I really do. Just the execution didn’t work for me personally.
One of the things I really don’t like is that sort of wacky, crazy comedy where everything is exaggerated for ridiculous effect and this book contains a lot of that. Lily is basically a walking disaster in the way that makes you wonder how she’s even made it to mid-20s without suddenly becoming a headline in the Darwin Awards. There were a few things I just had trouble buying, even given Lily’s disturbed state of mind.
The other thing is the speed. I’m all for getting over the douchebag that dumped you five minutes before you were due to walk down the aisle but everything happens so quickly. The whole thing takes place over a few days and then she loves him so much by the end of that that it overshadows her life for the entire next year. It just felt so rushed and even though there were some times where the chemistry showed flickers of promise, everything was happening so fast that I didn’t really have time to sit back and enjoy it developing.
I liked Damien, although the fact that he was super rich felt superfluous to the plot really, I wasn’t even sure why it was there given he was basically backpacking his way around the world without a $ to his name. When Lily invites him to stay with her it’s because he hasn’t got any money yet to pay for accommodation and needs to go and sort that out somehow, obviously working odd jobs to scrape together enough cash to tide him over until his next flight. All the flights are prebooked in advance but he seems to wing it in between which just made me feel anxious because I’m old now and the time where I find it romantic to just drift around the world without money or plans is now long gone. Actually to be honest, I’m not sure there was ever a time in my life when I would’ve been on board with that sort of lifestyle. I’m not as organised and uptight as Lily but I’d certainly like to arrive in a foreign country and know that I had enough money to pay for somewhere to sleep that night. Damien was interesting though in that he wasn’t quite a typical love interest character – bit gothy, the complete opposite of what Lily thought she really wanted in life. He was nothing like her former fiance, nothing like what she’d pictured for herself and it made her think about why she had such definite ideas about what she’d wanted and how set the plan had been for her life. Damien was like the opposite of a plan. He seemed pretty together and knew what he wanted to do. The conflict felt a bit contrived but mostly what I didn’t like about this book was Lily. She read quite immature and I think she needed that year to really grow up and figure out what would make her truly happy, not what she thought she should do with her life.
This was okay, it was different reading a book mostly set in Thailand. I’ve never been there but despite the hoards of Aussies that go every year I’ve never really read anything that takes place there. However, it could’ve been anywhere with a beach really. But I didn’t love it. Too much just didn’t really work for me or required too much suspension of disbelief.
I read this because I actually spotted the second one while browsing iBooks and when I went to have a look at the first I discovered that I already had it. I download stacks of free books every week and then generally pick through when I’m looking for something and choose ones to read at random. I was looking for something to read before bed and this isn’t too long so I ended up finishing it in one night.
Lily is humiliatingly dumped by her fiance just before she’s about to walk down the aisle to marry him, leaving her a simple note and disappearing off the face of the earth. Lily wallows for a while before she makes a snap decision to fly to Thailand on her own and go on the honeymoon they were supposed to have. On the plane she makes eye contact with a man and he pops up several times both on the flight and after. Damien shows Lily a completely different holiday to the one she was expecting and along the way she completely realigns what it is she wants out of life and especially love.
I love the idea of this. I really do. Just the execution didn’t work for me personally.
One of the things I really don’t like is that sort of wacky, crazy comedy where everything is exaggerated for ridiculous effect and this book contains a lot of that. Lily is basically a walking disaster in the way that makes you wonder how she’s even made it to mid-20s without suddenly becoming a headline in the Darwin Awards. There were a few things I just had trouble buying, even given Lily’s disturbed state of mind.

A great start to the series of books. This one is about Lilly who finds out the hard way you cannot plan everything in life. She had her whole life planned until she was jilted. Lilly then goes on honeymoon alone finding herself and a new real love along the way. Cannot wait to read the next one.

'Burning Moon' is one of the best wattpad fic that I have read.
The main character is Lily.
The story starts on Lily's wedding day when she finds the note left by Michael, saying, "I'm sorry, I can't" These four words completely changed her life.
Lily was the kind of girl who had her whole life planned out since she was 12.
Law school. Work at my dad’s firm. Married by 25 (at the latest). First child by 26. Two boys and two girls. Live in a double-storey house in a leafy suburb not too far away from my family. Holidays at the cottage. Roast chicken on Sundays.
And she thought that she had met her man when she had met Michael. They were fiancé of one year, perfect boyfriend of two . Or so she thought that they were perfect.
Anyway, she starts screaming and crying after she reads the note and she eventually blacks out.
The next day, she's just continuously eating food with loads of sugar.
“Val.” The sausage almost fell out of my mouth as I tried to talk. “Val, I need you to go down to the shops and buy me two, no, five Mars Bars, six bags of Jelly Babies and bread -- I need bread.”
And when she's thinking about the honeymoon that was all planned out... she gets a crazy idea.
A thought hit me. It was so decisive, and it slammed into me with such force that I almost fell off the couch in shock. It was also, by far, the craziest thought I’d ever had in all my twenty-three years on this planet. A part of me couldn’t believe it was even mine.
She was going to go on her honeymoon alone! Shocker?
Well, she quickly packs a bag and heads for the airport. Once she's there, she starts getting weird looks from people all around her but she ignored them and boards the plane. The weird looks continue and she notices a guy dressed in black looking at her feet. She looks down and...
My eyes followed his and that’s when I came face to face with two pairs of googly eyes. They were attached to two pink fluffy bunnies, with cute pink noses and big floppy ears.
I was wearing my slippers!
I was just thinking that this girl was crazy! But, the craziness continues...
My eyes looked from my slippers to my pants and then up to my top. And I realised that I wasn’t just wearing my slippers…
…I was wearing my pyjamas!
And continues...
Black mascara lines crisscrossed my face like a zebra’s stripes, the smeared red lipstick made me look like I had some kind of contagious rash, and my hair was so large and bushy that a family of seagulls could’ve easily moved into it. At the back of my head I could see one poor pearl clip desperately clinging on for life.
And by this point, I was laughing my ass off!
Anyway, Lily meets a guy named Damien on the plane. Black hair, black cloths, tattoos; he is totally not her type (although she starts to wonder where he gets the ironic t-shirts from after a while).
They both are caught by the airport police when they are seen talking together (cause they both look like druggies).
Damien pays all his money to avoid a rather embarrassing procedure. Since he doesn’t have any more money, Lily offers him a place at her suite in the hotel that she’s staying.
And thus, starts a romantic but humorous story which –after a lot of drama- finally gets a happy ending. And people will be amazed as to why Michael was nowhere to be found on the wedding day.
The story was really nicely written for a wattpad fic and yay, it’s getting published!

Ein Flug, bei dem Lilly am liebsten vor Charme versinken würde. Dort lernt sie auch Damien kennen. Missverständnisse und zufällige Begegnungen schweißen sie immer wieder zusammen...

Das schlichte Cover und der Klappentext machten mich auf das Buch aufmerksam.
Der Schreibstil und die Erzählweise der Protagonistin Lilly ist recht angenehm, wodurch der zeitgleich traurige und doch humorvolle Einstieg ins Buch gut gelang.
Lilly ist zunächst eine sympathische Protagonistin, deren Herzschmerz berührt.
Doch ihre zunehmende exzentrische Art trieb mich so manchmal in den Wahnsinn.
Was es auch schwer machte, sich in sie hineinzuversetzen und ihr Handeln nachzuvollziehen.
Die erste Begegnung mit Damien, dem geheimnisvollen Mann der Flugreise, wird prickelnd erzählt und weckte das Interesse.
Leider blieb sein Charakter im Verlauf blass.
Eigentlich beginnt die Geschichte von Lilly und Damien nett und aufregend.
Verlor dann aber vor allem auf den ersten Seiten an Spannung.
Viel zu schnell entwickelte sich ein mir unerklärliches Vertrauen der Beiden ineinander, dass dann vor allem durch Lillys bizarre überdrehte Art gestört wurde.
Ein tiefes Durchatmen und die Hoffnung auf ein positives Ende ließen mich dranbleiben.
Und dann passierte es: ihre gemeinsame Reise zu einem Festival fesselte mich.
Endlich nahm die Geschichte Schwung auf und zeigte ihren interessanten und fesselnden Charakter.
„Herz aus, Kopf an“ weckt mit einer interessanten Idee die Neugier des Lesers.
Leider blieb die Geschichte vor allem in der ersten Hälfte durch ein paar Längen und einer sehr unausgeglichenen Protagonistin auf der Strecke.
Ansonsten erzählt Jo Watson eine nette Story mit der man für eine Weile dem Alltag entfliehen kann.

Lilly wird wird am Altar von ihrem Verlobten sitzengelassen und tritt die Hochzeitsreise nach Thailand alleine an. Bereits im Flugzug trifft sie den mysteriösen Damien. In Thailand angekommen beginnt das Abenteuer...
Das Buch war eine richtig tolle Unterhaltung. Die Erlebnisse von Lilly und Damien lassen richtiges Urlaubsfeeling aufkommen und es gab mehr als eine Situation, in der ich richtig laut lachen musste.
Lilly und Damien sind sehr sympathische Charaktere, die ich sehr schnell ins Herz geschlossen habe. Auch zusammen haben die beiden richtig gut funktioniert und man hat das Kribbeln und Prickeln zwischen den beiden richtig gespürt.
Die Charakterentwicklung von Lilli ist für mich definitiv glaubhaft und nicht zu übertrieben gewesen.
"Kopf aus, Herz an" ist das perfekte Buch für den Strand oder um sich an trüben und kalten Tagen in die Ferne zu träumen.

Eine süße "romantische Komödie".
Damien und Lilly sind zwei Personen, die sich super ergänzen. In Lilly konnte ich mich gut reinversetzen, weil ich selber ein geordneter Mensch bin. Und dann braucht es halt so lebensfrohe Menschen wie Damien, die zeigen, dass man sich auch mal fallen lassen kann.
Ich war froh, dass Jo Watson nicht nur von den Sehenswürdigkeiten Thailands geschwärmt hat. Ich denke, dass Urlaubsfeeling hat sich sehr gut wiedergegeben ohne zu übertreiben.
Das "Problem" bei den Büchern aus dem Genre ist einfach, dass alles sehr vorhersehbar ist. So sind diese Geschichten ein schnelles und kurzes Lesevergnügen, aber weltbewegend sind sie selten.

Na světě existují celkem běžné trapasy. Jenže Lilly Swansonová má štěstí pouze na ty superotřesné. Jako například když jí její snoubenec v den svatby oznámí že si ji prostě vzít nemůže a vezme nohy na ramena. A to, že zdrcená Lilly poté nastoupí na let na své líbánky sama, ubrečená a v pyžamu a plyšových bačkorách, je jen třešničkou na dortu. Navíc si sedne vedle mírně ujetého chlápka, kterého omylem praští záchodovými dveřmi, zvrací před ním do pytlíku a ještě spolu stráví noc v thajském vězení. Myslíte že tohle může dopadnout dobře?
Ale jistě, láska si cestu najde :) A tahle kniha si našla místo i v mém srdci, protože to byla vážně skvělá, vtipná a romantická oddechovka .)

Super cute and a quick read.

Meine Meinung:
Dadurch, dass der Klappentext mich schon von sich überzeugt hat, musste ich unbedingt dieses Buch lese. Er klang einfach so genial, interessant und einfach auch mal anders.
Ebenso sagte mir das Cover sofort zu, da es sehr schön gestaltet ist. Es passt auch mehr oder weniger zu dem Buch, denn schließlich handelte es sich dort ja um einen New Adult Roman.
Der Titel wurde auch super zum Buchinhalt angepasst und ist nebenbei sogar auch noch eine gute Weisheit, die sich jeder Mensch in bestimmten Momenten zu Herz nehmen sollte.
Da mich das Thema das Buches sehr Interessierte, da ich mir die Idee eigentlich ziemlich amüsant vorstellte, fiel es mir überhaupt nicht schwer in das Buch herein zu kommen, denn irgendwie finde ich, dass umso mehr man sich auf ein Buch freut, desto einfacher ist es dann auch in das Geschehen hinein zu kommen und so ging es mir hier halt auch.
Es war zwar zu Beginn etwas traurig wenn man das so nennen kann, da ich solch eine Situation echt niemanden wünsche, doch dafür ging es dann gleich auch schon wieder lustig weiter und ich musste das erste mal und das sogar schon zu Anfang echt lachen.
In der gesamten Situation und auch der Umgebung fühlte ich mich so wohl, da es in mein Gedanken einfach nur wunderbar war.
Deshalb bekam ich auch von diesem Buch einen Suchtfaktor, da es echt total cool war dieses Buch zu lesen. Aber umso besser diesem Buch ist echt, das es so mega lustig ist und das auch nicht gerade selten. Deswegen musste ich oft echt ziemlich lachen, da es so verdammt lustig war.
Durch die besondere Situation der weiblichen Hauptfigur, wurde dieses Buch echt einzigartig, da es einfach total neu und fremd war, dafür aber umso besser.
Das erste Zusammentreffen der beiden Hauptfiguren war echt Fanstisch ''geplant''. Es war einfach so verdammt lustig und in meinen Augen hätte es schon gar ich mehr besser werde können.
Der Schreibstyle der Autorin war echt total angenehm. Ich musste mich überhaupt nicht anstrengen im Geschehen zu bleiben oder ähnliches, da es einfach immer super angenehm zu lesen war.
Die Idee dieses Buches finde ich ebenso echt genial. Aber es war auch so toll, dass dieses Buch nicht nur einfach ein normales New Adult Buch ist, sondern dazu auch noch ne ganze menge Humor enthält, denn dadurch wurde als erst unterhaltsamer.
Der weibliche Hauptcharakter Lilly war eigentlich ganz cool drauf. Sie hat eine sehr gute und positive Entwicklung in dem Buch gehabt, aber manchmal war sie einfach nur unlogisch und dumm aufgrund ihres Handeln.
Der männliche Hauptcharakter Damien war einfach nur ein Traum. Es ist nicht nur, dass er genau das macht was ich auch am liebsten in meiner Zukunft machen würde, sondern auch seine Art die echt super herzlich und lustig war.
Insgesamt gefielen mir aber alle Charaktere sehr gut, da sie super in den Inhalt der Geschichte eingebaut wurde.
Das Buch wurde zum Ende hin dann noch immer besser und ich fieberte oft echt mit dem Buch mit.
Das Ende war total niedlich, aber trotzdem hat es so einen kleinen Cliffhänger und ich wüsste echt nur zu gerne, wie es danach weiter geht.
Nun kann ich nur noch sagen, dass es echt mit eines der lustigsten Bücher ist, die ich je gelesen habe und dazu auch noch einfach eine perfekte Story enthält die super fesselnd ist und eine ganz neue und besondere Thematik enthält.

Der Titel wurde auch super zum Buchinhalt angepasst und ist nebenbei sogar auch noch eine gute Weisheit, die sich jeder Mensch in bestimmten Momenten zu Herz nehmen sollte.
Da mich das Thema das Buches sehr Interessierte, da ich mir die Idee eigentlich ziemlich amüsant vorstellte, fiel es mir überhaupt nicht schwer in das Buch herein zu kommen, denn irgendwie finde ich, dass umso mehr man sich auf ein Buch freut, desto einfacher ist es dann auch in das Geschehen hinein zu kommen und so ging es mir hier halt auch.
Es war zwar zu Beginn etwas traurig wenn man das so nennen kann, da ich solch eine Situation echt niemanden wünsche, doch dafür ging es dann gleich auch schon wieder lustig weiter und ich musste das erste mal und das sogar schon zu Anfang echt lachen.
In der gesamten Situation und auch der Umgebung fühlte ich mich so wohl, da es in mein Gedanken einfach nur wunderbar war.
Deshalb bekam ich auch von diesem Buch einen Suchtfaktor, da es echt total cool war dieses Buch zu lesen. Aber umso besser diesem Buch ist echt, das es so mega lustig ist und das auch nicht gerade selten. Deswegen musste ich oft echt ziemlich lachen, da es so verdammt lustig war.
Durch die besondere Situation der weiblichen Hauptfigur, wurde dieses Buch echt einzigartig, da es einfach total neu und fremd war, dafür aber umso besser.
Das erste Zusammentreffen der beiden Hauptfiguren war echt Fanstisch ''geplant''. Es war einfach so verdammt lustig und in meinen Augen hätte es schon gar ich mehr besser werde können.
Der Schreibstyle der Autorin war echt total angenehm. Ich musste mich überhaupt nicht anstrengen im Geschehen zu bleiben oder ähnliches, da es einfach immer super angenehm zu lesen war.
Die Idee dieses Buches finde ich ebenso echt genial. Aber es war auch so toll, dass dieses Buch nicht nur einfach ein normales New Adult Buch ist, sondern dazu auch noch ne ganze menge Humor enthält, denn dadurch wurde als erst unterhaltsamer.
Der weibliche Hauptcharakter Lilly war eigentlich ganz cool drauf. Sie hat eine sehr gute und positive Entwicklung in dem Buch gehabt, aber manchmal war sie einfach nur unlogisch und dumm aufgrund ihres Handeln.
Der männliche Hauptcharakter Damien war einfach nur ein Traum. Es ist nicht nur, dass er genau das macht was ich auch am liebsten in meiner Zukunft machen würde, sondern auch seine Art die echt super herzlich und lustig war.
Insgesamt gefielen mir aber alle Charaktere sehr gut, da sie super in den Inhalt der Geschichte eingebaut wurde.
Das Buch wurde zum Ende hin dann noch immer besser und ich fieberte oft echt mit dem Buch mit.
Das Ende war total niedlich, aber trotzdem hat es so einen kleinen Cliffhänger und ich wüsste echt nur zu gerne, wie es danach weiter geht.
Nun kann ich nur noch sagen, dass es echt mit eines der lustigsten Bücher ist, die ich je gelesen habe und dazu auch noch einfach eine perfekte Story enthält die super fesselnd ist und eine ganz neue und besondere Thematik enthält.

Burning Moon by Jo Watson is the story of Lilly Swanson who goes on her honeymoon alone when her fiance jilts her at the altar and how this decision changes her life forever!
I heard about this book from a friend and could not help myself from checking it out. The cover art is good but it is the blurb that sealed the deal. I absolutely loved it and didn't waste even a second in buying the book!
Later on I got to know that this book is the debut book by Jo and winner of the "So You Think You Can Write" contest held by Harlequin and also the Wattpad contest. It definitely deserves these awards. :)
I absolutely loved this book. It has humour, romance, heart wrenching grief and the excitement to live life to the fullest. Jo has the talent for writing and she beautifully brings to life the story of Lilly and Damien. The plot is well conceived and expertly executed. She vividly describes the situations and the shift between scenarios and places is so fluid that the story flows smoothly. I was hooked right from the first page and could not think of anything except finishing the book to know what happened to these lovely characters.
The scenic and colourful description of Thailand is so expertly penned that it made me feel like I was there myself. The burning moon experience will remain with me forever and I hope to visit Thailand soon and maybe get a chance to see the burning moon in person even if I have to hike. I am ready! :)
The characterization is admirable and I loved Lilly. She is intelligent, strong and independent. The way she handles her life after she is jilted made me a big fan of her. Damien, on the other hand, is another character that made its place in my heart. I loved his quiet strength, his sensible and balanced approach to life and his willingness to live as he pleases. The scenes between these two were funny, humourous and downright romantic. I was giggling at one point and then suddenly was warmed by their romance. The other characters also made a lasting impression on my mind and I could not help thinking about all these people even after I had finished reading the book.
Stormy-Rain, Lilly's cousin and the heroine of Jo's next book, After The Rain, is first mentioned in this book. Since I have already read and loved After The Rain, It was so cool to see what happened before. :)
Everything is just perfect iin this book and I cant stop loving it. Go get your copy and read this beautiful book. Super shiny 5 stars to Burning Moon and strongly recommended to all romance lovers. I loved Jo's writing style. She is a talented new author on the block and now definitely on my favourite authors list. :)

Being in my twenties I can definitely appreciate the growing interest of the NA (New Adult) genre because I love reading YA books, but sometimes I just feel too old to read about a bunch of 16 year olds, which made Burning Moon seem like a nice change of pace, or so I thought.
Lily Swanson like most young ladies has dreamed about her perfect wedding, but imagine her surprise when the groom doesn't show up to meet her at the alter. After suffering the wedding humiliation she makes a last minute decision to go on her honeymoon trip to Thailand alone. However, it looks like she won't be so lonely after all now that she has Damien to lead her on an adventure.
I don't know what it was about this book, but I just couldn't get into it. I continued to read in the hopes that the story or the characters might begin to grow on me, however, that just didn't happen. I just couldn't relate to Lily, the main character, at all and half the things that happened I wanted to just roll my eyes. Now, Damien, our leading male, seems like a decent guy for an unemployed backpacker. I mean, who doesn't want to meet a guy who is just slumming it jumping from one hostel to another? Personally, I don't know what about this is endearing, but that’s just me.
On another note, I think that Watson did do a good job of building up the chemistry between Damien and Lily, but I just didn’t get all the feels I was expecting from this. However, I will say that I didn't hate it the story completely and it did have some redeeming moments, but all in all I just don't have any burning feelings of love.

This was actually a super sweet read. My first romance in so long, because I kind of stopped believing in the happy ever after I guess. But this was cute. I liked the HEA. It made me feel a bit swoony.
I will say that Lilly was super judgemental - people with tattoos are equal to being drug addicts, she despises sex, she’s just not willing to let go of her ‘ideals’ and then the moment she does, she completely changes her tune. Damien’s tattoos can’t possibly be because he’s a drug addict and they make him look sexy, but only him okay?
It genuinely made me want to punch her. Women can like sex. It doesn’t have to be this taboo any more. It’s not something that needs tiptoeing around. There were just parts of this novel that seemed so conservative and stuck in the past and I was glad that Damien challenged Lilly to come out her stick-in-the-arse ways.
Damien saved this book. He made Lilly more likeable, more tolerable. He jumped off the page - I imagine him looking like Damon from The Vampire Diaries. And I liked how he wasn’t your typical bad boy or fuck boy. He was as genuinely decent character and person and he treated Lilly so well, right from the moment they met.
I’ll definitely be reading Jo’s other books, I can see why she was a huge success on WattPad, I’m just hoping that as her novels progress, she also lets her characters progress and stop being so narrow-minded sometimes.

After reading and enjoying 'Love to Hate You' I had to read more of Jo Watson's books, starting off with Burning Moon!
First off, how beautiful is the cover of the book, I know we all shouldn't judge books on their covers but when a cover is this pretty I'm going to.
Burning Moon is a fantastically funny romantic story featuring Lilly... We meet Lilly on her wedding day, surrounded by friends and family, dressed in white and ready to walk down the altar to her husband to be. With just one problem, the husband to be has vanished. That's right poor Lilly has been jilted.
With the groom gone AWOL, Lilly decides to honeymoon it alone to Thailand! With an adventure in front of her and not short of some disasters along the way, Lilly meets mysterious Damien who shows her the true Thailand experience. Damien is not her usual type in fact the complete opposite but by meeting Damien, Lilly soon discovers a different side to herself.
I really liked Lilly, she was lots of fun and I loved experiencing her Thailand adventure's through Jo Watson's fantastic descriptions, making me feel like I was there.
What's not to love about this story? Set in a beautiful part of the world, likeable characters, adventure and some romance chucked in. This is the perfect romantic comedy book you all need to read!

This read kept me up all night I just could not stop it was that fabulous!
The author has one of those voices that simply made the characters pop from the pages and entranced me to the point where I completely locked out the entire world, which as I always say is a sign that the author knows what she's doing. And crazy funny, I laughed my behind off to the point where tears were streaming down my face, pink fluffy bunnies, brilliant !!! The only complaint I had was that it had to end . Perfect job Jo, keep going !

Have thoroughly enjoyed this book! Ended up reading almost a bride (book 2) before this one accidentally so already knew what would happen but did not ruin the book! Absolutely loved it! Can't wait to read the third in the series!
