A mother sends her young child off to school on the bus. Parents watch as their chld heads off to war in a foreign land. A worker travels through a rough part of town to a job. They all need protection from danger! Our world is not a safe place, and we all need continual protection--at home, on the job, on the road. For believers, there are many scriptures promising God can and will protect us. "Angels on Assignment "from best-selling author Perry Stone reveals in detail one of these promises, the Mizpah covenant. The Mizpah covenant forges a protective angelic barrier around your loved ones and you, especially when you are apart from one another. Filled with faith-building stories, "Angels on Assignment "will show you how angels are involved in our lives on a personal and practical level, five things that can offend angels and hinder their protection of us, and how to establish a Mizpah covenant over your family and you.

Short, dense book with useful information. Stone illuminates parts of the Old Testament and gives the reader the necessary context of Jewish culture, law, and tradition making it relevant for today's Christian. The OT can be so hard to read and I found the author's information and perspective very helpful.
Also includes biblically sound information about angels, angelic protection, and contemporary examples of divine intervention and protection. I don't agree with the author's suggestion that the unnamed "angel of the Lord" in the OT is a preincarnation of Jesus - maybe a theophany? but I'm no theologian 🤷🏼♀️.
Overall an interesting, worthwhile read if you are interested in a biblical perspective on angels, spiritual warfare, and are seeking a better understanding of some of the OT.

In Acts 27, the apostle Paul was a prisoner on a ship with 276 passengers on board. Launching the voyage in the winter, the ship headed into a violent sea storm, called Euroclydon. The ship tossed like a leaf in the wind and was in danger of splitting into pieces. No stars or light from the moon was seen for many days, and because of the dangerous rocks and quicksand, it appeared that Paul and the passengers would drown in the murky waters. Paul had been on an extended fast and was praying for God’s intervention. God released a heavenly messenger to bring Paul this encouraging word:
