It's on good reads, and I did flip through every page to see all the pretties I could will color, so I'm counting it!
But seriously, this coloring book is dope. This is my first "adult" coloring book, which is basically code for a coloring book that will in fact drive you insane because the lines are so thin and detailed that you are guaranteed to mess up. I miss my crayons. However, I'm not disappointed. The first full coloring page was a gorgeous quote that had minimal detail so it was a good way to ease into it. I still stressed out over my color choices, but I managed to make something that looks semi adorable. Then turn the page and BAM! Details for days. Though I am tackling it with some serious determination.
I don't think I can call coloring in these books relaxing. It's fun, I've always loved to color, but therapeutic is not something I would call it. For me anyway, I know some people can literally melt their stress away with the flick of a colored pencil. Not me, but I am enjoying the detailed challenge and I'm really glad I'm losing my adult coloring virginity to Mare and co. (Did that sound dirty?)
The illustrations are great, the quotes are lovely and iconic, and even though Cal isn't as hot as he is in my head I still love him the most.
If you're into coloring, a fan of RQ, or you want to break into the world of coloring with a YA adaptation, I suggest this one.
My second adult coloring book ever and I've never thought to write a review, but I felt this needed one. I do love the art work in this, but having been so long since I've read Red Queen I did have trouble trying to remember specifically which scenes some of these pages are from. My only comparison is the Throne of Glass coloring book, which has a paragraph or two from the scene on the other page to remind you of which scene it is. I preferred that to jog my memory. There were also a lot of pages that were just of quotes, which I would prefer not to color and just have a small black and white posters, but that's preference. Other than that, it should be fun (and by fun I mean incredibly nerve wracking!) to color this, especially given all the small details and fine lines.
I received this book for Christmas and I loved it. The pictures are detailed and the lettering is creative. The only reason I did not give this coloring book a 5 star I because there are no quotes on the side to go along with the picture. I've read the book and have a general idea of what scene is shown on the picture but I feel that quotes on the side (ex the TOG coloring book) would give me a better understanding of the scene and allow me to distinguish the characters better.
Every page was gorgeously illustrated! Very stress-relieving and overall satisfying to color! So much fun to see Mare, Kilorn, Gisa, Mare’s mom and Dad, Cal, Maven, the king and queen, the ladies from Queenstrial (plus some awesome pictures of Evangeline), even a Sentinel come to life. Plus, it’s in chronological order so it’s fun to follow the storyline. Trust me, I know anyone can betray anyone, but I’m being honest when I say this coloring book is beautiful and I really recommend it!
This is the prettiest adult coloring book that I have next to Kiera Cass’s The Selection 😍 I really wanted to breeze through the pages and color them all in one go, but, alas! My hands were shaking from coloring after a few pages 😂
I just received this book for Easter and I love the illustrations! They're so detailed and I can understand which part of the story they portray. I also love the illustrated quotes in between! I think this book was made perfectly and I enjoy coloring inside to make the drawings come to life!
As soon as I picked up this book, I felt like it was a little slow and boring, in the beginning. But, as I continued to read on, I started to like it more. More action picked up, and more characters were introduced. I'm glad I didn't stop reading, because I ended up really liking her book. (G.C.)
there was a point where i had to put it down because i was so overwhelmed in the best way, this book is up and down and all around with the gang living on a bunker surrounded by beach or jungle
I was really excited about this colouring book but was actually really disappointed when I got it. The book has 16 pages that are just words, which feels like a rip off, TBH. There were a lot of moments in Red Queen that I really wanted to see in here but were left out and instead we got random quotes no-one really cares about. I would have liked the matching text from the book next to the pictures - the way it's done in the Throne of Glass colouring books. I also wish they threw in a few pictures from the sequels, but I suppose that was something to do with publication dates. In all, I'm glad I have it in my collection, but I wasn't overly impressed. The perforated pages are a bonus, but nothing I will use, as I just like to look and not colour.
