I need to get my motor running. Literally. All I want is to learn how to build engines, Cars, motorcycles--anything. You name it; I want to feel it rev in my hands. Fabricate it into something mine, Bend it to my will, Create what hasn't been built before.
But nobody takes me seriously, And I'm no damsel in distress. I can and will get my hands dirty, Very dirty.
And now, I have that chance, Working with Jesse Valentine, Top motorcycle and hot rod fabricator. But he's got a reputation for more, Much more.
After all, he's nothing but a cocky, Overinflated jerk, And I'm just interested in mechanics, Cold, hard, machines. I was born to bend, build, create, And I won't change for anyone, Not even him.
Always dancing to the beat of her own drum, Vanessa is a heavily tattooed, sarcastic, motorcycle enthusiast who started her career as a ASE Certified Jeep technician at the age of sixteen. Her obsessions of watching Turkish dizi TV shows, or yelling at an NHL game (GO VGK) while reading simultaneously often battle her family. At the age of 26 and becoming a pacemaker recipient—she decided the over 60 crowd was more her scene and learned to knit. She lives in Kentucky (by way of Las Vegas) with her family and crazy cats.
DISCLAIMER: I received an e-ARC of this book (via Alexis Noelle and the author) in exchange for honest review.
Have you ever admired someone because of the work they do? Ever had a dream to learn their methods because they inspire you to move forward with your dream? Well, that's what this book is about, with a generous amount of bickering and bantering between two characters who are extremely attracted to each other.
Jada love fabricating and designing with metal. The thing is, she is always working and giving more than 70% of her paycheck to her father's medical bills. Her family lives in a trailer park and on top of that, she tends to get defensive and is quite independent.
Her dream? To learn from the best. And his name is Jesse Valentine. That dream is about to come true. However, Jesse is a massive jerk and has figured out how to push Jada's buttons. Also, no one stands up to Jesse. But Jada does and she has a comeback for everything he says.
The author adds a new spark of sweet (and steamy) to romance. The romance cooks slowly. Every time you think it will start, the story takes a turn in a slightly different direction. You sit, waiting for something to happen, and it does, but not for a long time.
I loved how the story did not consist of constant sex scenes. Innuendos were given left and right, but that had me laughing so hard that I could barely breathe. Oh, trust me, there was sex, but it was worth the wait. A great weekend read for anyone who likes bad-ass female characters who are awesome with cars and mechanics. 5 Stars.
Have you ever read a book that was so good that even after you finished reading it, the story stayed with you for days after? That's how I felt after reading Fabricating Jada. It was one of the best books I have read this year!
Vanessa Marie wrote an amazing story that grabs you at the cover and won't let you go until you've read the final page, and even then you are wanting more. This well-written story has everything you want in a book... emotions, angst, drama, humor, a great story-line, interesting and intriguing characters, and then it all wraps up with love and a great HEA.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Loved it and it is one of my favorites this year. Jada is a young woman with a dream. She wants to fabricate things and build cars but her family situation stands in her way. When her idol Jesse Valentine is teaching a class, her mom urges her to go for it.
I thought Jada was a great character. She has an unusual dream for a woman but is brimming with talent and when she finds her hero to be tainted (Jesse is a real jerk to her and they constantly clash) she does not give up. She has to travel for hours to get to the class, has been hurt the first day but soldiers on and still shines. I also loved her friendship with BFF Carter.
I kept on reading and was disappointed when it ended. I read there will be more books so I am keeping my fingers crossed for more Jada/Jesse.
** I received an ARC in return for an honest review**
Vanessa Marie is new to me as an author so was great to receive this ARC to see what her writing style was like.
Jada supports her family after an injury to her father when she was younger. She feels like she's put aside her own dreams and life to do this. Her mother try's to provide support but both are emotionally abused by her father. Jada's mother spies an opportunity for Jada to learn from her idol Jesse Valentine and pushes Jada to apply. This story is about Jada learning that she should be proud and confident of her skills and Jesse finding out that not everyone is out to get what they can from him rather than being his friend just because they like him. I did enjoy it and quite liked the writing style and growth of the characters. But did feel that the entire storyline felt too much like it was following a script that had to be followed. IE Jada is from a trailer park and poor upbringing, trying to make it in a male dominated field. Jesse having people only see him for his money.
I would call this a light entertaining read but it didn't pull me in and make me forget that this formula is a common theme used in lots of other books.
WOW!!! The best story I've read this year and I've read quit a few. if I could give it 10 stars I would.
it's about a female mechanic who has learned everything on her own who comes from a trailer park. she has a chance to go to her idols fabricating class and learn from him and it goes from there.
the chemistry Jada and Jesse had was through the roof. always arguing and bickering. everyone around them knew that they liked each other but them.
this was a slow burn romance, there was also real topics brought up like emotional abuse and you see the paparazzi go nuts.
I couldn't get enough of this book I don't think I stopped smiling or crying when Jada cried...I got real invested into her character. and I think Jesse is my new book boyfriend...hell any man that can work on a car and make thing with metal and has a body like that mmmm man what woman wouldn't want one?
WOW! I couldn't put it down for a second. I may have even walked into a wall and not really realized it. This is one of the best books I've read by far! There aren't too many out there with a sassy female mechanic/fabricator that knows their shit. I was so impressed with this book that it left me speechless for a good long while. For anyone that knows me that's a hard thing to accomplish. The dynamic was flawless and the chemistry was off the charts! It had me right there with them arguing and sassing right back. The best friend Carter is fantastic, reminds me of my best friend and the conversations we have. I hope there will be a book with her name on it. I have to say for anyone who loves a girl that's not afraid to get down and dirty with the boys, this is the one for you!
I absolutely love Fabricating Jada. Jada and Jesse are perfect for each other. I would have loved it even more it it was duel point of view. I wanted to get inside Jesse's head so bad. The story was perfect without it. I just wanted a peak. Love Jada's spunk and determination. She's one bada** chick. Jesse on the other hand is a bit of an a**hole, but we love him anyways. It let's you see why he is the way he is. You get to see different sides of him. I totally fell in love with him. The secondary Character's were amazing. Hoping we get to see Miguel's story. Then maybe Carter's. "Hint" "hint". This is my first time reading anything by Vanessa and I am truly impressed. I'm looking forward to reading her other books.
I received this Arc in exchange for a honest review
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
This is the first book of Vanessa's I've read, I was not disappointed and will be reading more. I found the story interesting as I am the only woman doing a man's job in my life. So it was good to hear how Jada was treated by others as she has to fight for what she wants.
The love-hate relationship between Jade and Jesse has you smiling from the start. Jesse pushes Jade's buttons from their first contact. The friendship Jade gains with DeAnna is growing as Jade sticks out the problems thrown at her by the males around her, who think she shouldn't be where she is. Will she succeed...
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a good book that pulled me in from the beginning. I loved Jada, and there was major bonus points that she was a mechanic, since female mechanics are rare to find in books. I also really liked Jesse. It was fun following their story, and seeing how everything turned out for them.
I loved this book!! I loved Jada and Jesse, the back and forth snark is the best. The challenges of Jada being a female in the industry are a part of what brings them together even if Jesse does it in an unconventional way. I couldn't get enough of this book!
I really liked this, it had my favorite type of heroine. The disinterested heroine, while she appreciated that the hero was hot she didn't turn into a complete moron just seeing him.
What absolute joy to read! I haven't read a book this good in a very long time.
The story line is just amazing. Love that this is a bout a "WOMAN" that is trying to pursue her dreams. Jada is a woman that is trying to do the right thing in helping care for an ailing father. But during this process she has lost herself. She has allowed others to steal her dream from her and push her down below her worth.
Jesse is a huge name in the fabricating industry that has lost sight of why he does what he does. He sees in Jada the passion he had, but seems to have lost a long the way. Which seems due to an very large ego and the dread of living in the spotlight.
Miguel is a force to be reckoned with and knows exactly what his childhood friend and new "Valley Girl" need to be pushed in the right directions.
This book is amazing that is doesn't loose any of the passion Jada has for her dreams and yet brings in a story behind the woman. Jada doesn't become someone she's not, she doesn't sleep her way to the top or take any BS from other men in the fabricating field that think she's a joke. I really enjoyed this. I hate when you start one of the books and the main character that a woman becomes crap to get her dreams realized. In Fabricating Jada this does NOT happen and I love it!
This is the first book I have read by Vanessa Marie but it will NOT be my last.
This book was a diamond in the rough to be honest. I loved it so much that it actually surprised me. I have it for a while now on my TBR list but for some reason I never started even if it has one of my absolute favorite tropes in it. When a woman tries to or does prevail in a mostly male dominated profession. I just love those. I never read anything from the author before this and to be honest when I read the first chapter I had my doubt because it’s starts out quite, how do I say it, not amateurish but with a lower quality. But in the second chapter it gets so much better. The whole writing style clears up and becomes really dynamic and easy to read. It kind of sucks you in.
The plot has its ups and downs but at the end if you consider the pro and the cons the positive side is definitely stronger. I personally loved the first half more with the little details about the work and Jada work ethic. Here the tension between Jada and Jesse was unbelievable heavy and that for me put an extra boost for on things. There is nothing wrong with the second hand either but when the romance part steps into the picture the whole dynamic and atmosphere of the book changes. I just loved it, although I could have loved to see a bit more about them as a couple.
Jada is an exceptional main character. She is strong, determined and most of all real. She has a sassy side to herself but the thing that determines her most is her relentless thirst to learning and her talent and imagination. Jesse is gruff and jaded, his fame changed him or rather changed how his so called friends view him. Because everybody wants something from him he is vary of new people, so Jada seeming indifference throws him off. That is what intrigues him the most at first, then when he witnesses the girl’s potential things speed up for them. He is a bit awkward since he can’t really express his feelings easily but I liked his tall, dark and jaded personality. The tension between them is palatable from the first moment but it’s a great twist that neither of them wants to act upon it at first for all the right reasons. Their chemistry is off the charts but what liked the most is the careful way they start out.
There are a couple of interesting but annoying side characters too. I hate when the best friend/sister/brother causes stupid problems for the main characters because they think they know best. That’s just plain rude and unfortunately her it’s a recurring motif, on the bright side its kind of the driving force that finally moves the relationship along.
It’s a quick, funny, cute and easy read. I would say it’s also pretty clean because it’s on the lighter side of the spectrum when it comes to romantic interactions. If I’m remembering correctly there are only two steamier scenes in it. I really enjoyed reading this.
Thank you to the author, Vanessa Marie, and Shannon from Once Upon An Alpha for gifting me with an ARC copy of Fabricating Jada in exchange for an honest review!
1. The characters. Let me preface this by saying I don't think I've ever read a book where the main character is a girl who likes to build cars (well, maybe one, but I think it was just drag racing). So I thought it was really cool that the storyline showed scenes of Jada making things from scraps of metal and doing what she loves. These scenes advanced the plot to be sure, but they also did a stellar job of allowing the reader to get to know Jada and what she stands for. I loved her feistiness and her unwillingness to give up, even when it seems like everything is against her. And while she did have her moments, we're all human and we all make mistakes. Her mistakes were pretty realistic ones. There were some mistakes make by other characters that I questioned (DeAnna's major one made me facepalm) but overall, the characters were pretty dang realistic. And for me, the characters make all the difference.
2. The plot. So, like I said, this book revolves around Jada and her fabrication of metals. For her, this is all a journey of learning more about fabrication, finding her voice, and finding someone else who shares her passion. The plot is fairly fast-paced and there's always some conflict going on or something to keep you reading. There is never really a lull and I constantly wanted to know what would come next.
3. The romance. This is one of the things I'm a little leery about. On one hand, it's so adorable (the main romance) and I can't help but sigh and smile and love every minute of their scenes together. On the other hand, it's entirely predictable and I called it from the time the two characters were introduced. It's just one of those things that you expect and is pretty typical. Maybe it's because I've just read too many books so there's nothing that's new for me anymore or maybe it's because it's overdone. Who's to know?
The Final Verdict:
I have to say, the best part of this book is Jada herself. She's feisty and fierce and has the sass to build a mountain. The other characters fit nicely into the world and many jumped off the page for me. While the romance was very predictable for me, I also couldn't help but love it.
Jada’s dream is to build cars. Her leisure time is spent tinkering around with mechanics in her shed and flipping through the pages of hot rod magazines. But Jada’s had to put her dreams on the back burner in order to help her family with their finances. When Jada gets the opportunity to attend a class taught by one of the best in the business, she is more than ready to get her hands dirty under his tutelage.
Jesse Valentine is a celebrity in his line of work. To get the chance to learn from an expert in the field is a dream come true for Jada. Jesse, however, is not a natural born teacher. He is gruff, abrupt, and a no-nonsense kind of guy. While Jada is an eager student in his class, her presence just seems to push all of Jesse’s buttons and get under his skin.
There is no sugar-coating when it comes to Jesse. He is quite rude and harsh where Jada is concerned. Were there times when I wanted to knock some common decency into Jesse? Absolutely. But trust me, there is a big heart under that tough exterior. While his behavior baffles her, she is used to not being taken seriously in this male-dominated field. But Jada doesn’t hold back when it comes to Jesse. She dishes the sarcasm right back to him. This lends its way to a great deal of banter and bickering between the two of them.
I’m going to be completely honest, I know absolutely nothing about mechanics, but I do know about romantic tension, and this book has it in spades! Whether Jada and Jesse were at each other’s throats or sharing a kind moment, the chemistry between them was always present. Their romance was a slow burn, allowing the readers to anticipate the moment when they would finally surrender to their feelings. Mmhmm…and it was so worth the wait.
It’s always refreshing to read about a woman who is in a non-traditional field of work and who is excelling at it. I was rooting for Jada right from the beginning. I wanted her to realize how talented and how strong she really was.
Filled with humor, romantic tension galore, and great characters, Fabricating Jada is an enjoyable read that kept me entertained until the very end.
*I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
At the Louisville Authors Event in May I was at Vanessa Marie's table checking things out and she started telling me about this book. Said it had a Jesse James type guy, a strong female lead, and lots of angst. I thought to myself, hey I like all those things, so I had to check it out and I'm so glad I did!! Jada Carmen is unlike most of the girls she knows. She grew up in a trailer park, still lives with her parents, and works at a job she hates just because it has a little to do with the one thing she loves. Don't let all that fool you into thinking that Jada is a girl that is lazy and wants to do nothing with her life. She lives in the trailer park with her parents because that's what they can afford, after she pays her father's medical bills. She works a job she hates because it's close to home, helps pay those bills, and because it puts her around cars which she loves. Jada's dream is to be a metal fabricator like her idol Jesse Valentine. However, being a chick no one wants to teach her anything so everything she has learned comes from YouTube or she has taught herself. That right, this chick is so resourceful that she has learned to weld watching YouTube videos!! When her mom shows her a add that saying her idol, TV's Jesse Valentine of Valentine Street Rods, is having a open to the public one time only class she flips!! When her mom gives her the money so she can do it and says she needs to follow her dream no matter what anyone says, including her father, she freaks even more but she applies and gets in!!! Now enters Jesse Valentine, yummy tattooed goodness!!! That is until he opens his mouth!!! He totally ruins it by trying to bring Jada down and she's the best in the class!! Oh, the angst between these two!! She stand up to him, fights with him even though she stands up to no one else. There is pull to her that he just can't get away from. The will they or won't they just kills me. If you are like me and like tension between your hero and heroine, like guys with tattoos, and love a strong female character, you have to pick this one up!!! Seriously, go out and get it !!!
Fabricating Jada has to be one of the best books I've read in a very long time. It's sexy, sweet, and has amazing characters.
Jada has a dream, a huge dream, to fabricate things out of metal, things like hotrods. But she needs training, expert, professional level training that she hasn't gotten from the Youtube videos she's been watching, and what with her having to support her parents because of her dad's health problems, she has absolutely no money or time to obtain that dream. But one day, her mom urges her to sign up for a class offered by her idol, Jesse Valentine. Her mom even offers to pay with money she has been saving up.
From the very first time Jada and Jesse meet, sparks fly, and not just from the metal welding going on in the class. He's an absolute jerk to her for reasons she has no time or inclination to figure out, but it just pushes her to prove to him and all the other guys in the class, that she has what it takes to not just finish his class, but to be a fabricator. The sexual tension is so thick between the two that it would take a samurai sword to cut through it. He pushes her and insults her and she in turn, stands her ground and pushes back. And when they finally give into that tension it's even sexier because the tension never lets up between them, in fact, gets even thicker (ha, pun intended), even after she moves into his house and accepts a job from him.
From the interesting and realistic characters, to the sizzling chemistry, and the love between Jada and her best friend and the love she has for her parents, to the love between Jesse, his sister DeAnna, his mom and stepdad, and best friend Miguel, and the the sweet ending, Fabricating Jada has everything a great book needs. It's entertaining, well written, and a great way to spend a couple hours. I want more of this world and am hoping there's going to be a book about Miguel and DeAnna.
I received an ARC of this book via the author and Alexis Noelle in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. There aren't many books about strong determined woman and this is one of the best I've read. Jada is a woman who knows her cars and is a mechanic but wants to be a fabricator. No one takes her seriously, except maybe Carter and her mom. Jada has fought for her dream and is constantly faced with people who don't believe she is who she says she is. Because of this she doubts her own ability at times but she wants to learn and become better. Enter Jesse, a master fabricator, and one of Jada's idols. When Jesse offers a class to teach fabrication to those interested Jada applies but doesn't hold out much hope. Even in her interview for the class neither Jesse or his sister believe she wants to learn but rather think she wants to get close to him. Jada proves everyone wrong. She is good at what she can do and finds herself finally defending her skills to someone - Jesse. Jesse is a first class arsehole. While he may see the skills Jada has he isn't ready to admit she is that good. He had Jada conflict at every turn and she truly believes he hates her. I think the other storyline that follows Jada and her family is also important. We always want to help our families any way we can and while it hurts when they don't support us, we still keep doing what we do. It isn't until Jada sees that she her dream could become reality that she finally speaks up and lets her parents(her dad) know what thinks and how she feel. This book is one you won't want to put down until you finish it and then you're going to want to have another book that tells this story from Jesse's POV. He is hiding a lot and it would be interesting to see how he viewed his interaction with Jada.
I won't repeat the description....you have already read it. Lets get to the good stuff!
I absolutely ADORE Jada!! I thought I was going to have an issue with her at first. there were hints that she was a pushover but I didn't see much of that from her. She was "pocket-sized" and strong and determined. Even after she was hurt right off the bat! I loved how the book centered around a woman trying to make it in a "mans" job. I also loved the way she learned everything from youtube. I want her as my friend!!!
Jesse tried his hardest to be a jerk. He just couldn't really pull it off. I kinda feel like he let his family (mostly the cousin and partially the sister) use him and he didn't step up like I thought he should. He had a very alpha personality but it really didn't show through. But he pushed Jada to be stronger and wouldn't let her quit. Gotta love him for that. (Not to mention his rock hard body!!)
This book does touch on emotional abuse and I appreciate the way it was handled. Anyone who has dealt with that understands what it is like to be constantly put down and ridiculed. What it is like to deal with those feelings and the self doubt. If only we all had such a wonderful group of people around us like Jada!!
I enjoyed this book SO much!! Things to know - It is done in dual POV. It is engaging from the beginning. You WILL laugh and I did shed a tear or two at the end. Prepare to love all the characters. Prepare for witty banter that will make you want to write it down so you can use it at a later date. Prepare to look for more books from this author.
My complaint?? It ended!!!! I didn't want it to end. I also love the epilogue. It finishes the story for me. This does not have an epilogue :( I can only pray (and beg) that there will be more on these guys in the future.
I was provided an ARC for an honest review. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Vanessa is a new-to-me author. This is the first book of hers that I've read, and it definitely will NOT be my last!
The plot of this book is utterly original. I've never read anything quite like it, and it had me so intrigued, I read it in one sitting. Jada is not your typical girl. She doesn't dream of big white weddings with a fairy-tale prince. No, she dreams of metal grinding and welding arcs. She wants to create, and there's one person she wants to learn from, so when the opportunity to be taught by the great Jesse Valentine arises, she jumps.
Jesse is a master builder, with a wicked reputation. He's the best in the business and he knows it. This class in his shop is not his idea, and he's none too happy about having to take time out of his schedule to do it, which he makes perfectly clear.
The second Jada and Jesse meet its like clash of the Titans. I freaking LOOOVED the tension between the two. It's not just a sexual tension; it's Jada fighting to be taken seriously and Jesse pushing her to be more aggressive with what she wants. That's not to say there isn't an insane chemistry between them, because there is. But one thing I love about this story is that it's an actual story and not just sex scene after sex scene.
Another great thing about this book are the supporting characters. They are all fantastic, and bring levity to the story. There is no cliffhanger, and no violence. Just a beautifully written story about a girl chasing her dream.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great plot that will leave you smiling.
This is the first book I have read by Vanessa and I was hooked. It was hard to put the book down. I do wish it could have been and Jesse's point of view also. Vanessa had great details throughout the book. Tools I haven't heard of so I did Google some because I want to know what that tool looked like (for my benefit). Looking forward to more books by Vanessa.
Jada grew up wanting to be like Jesse Valentine who is a mechanic. Jada didn't have the money to buy what she needed so she made the best of it. After her father fell ill she gave up on her dreams that is until her mother comes across an ad the Jesse Valentine is offering classes.
Jesse Valentine is a famous mechanic and has his own TV show. His sister Deanna is trying to improve Jesse's image to the public eye. She has decided to have Jesse teach some classes but not for free.
Jada is accepted into the class. Jada and Jesse are both stubborn. Jesse keeps pushing Jada because he knows she can do better than anyone else in the class. Jada is tired of Jesse being a bully, she eventually doesn't show up. Of course wherever Jesse goes he is noticed, photos and videos are taken. Jada is now in the public eye. She can't stand it and does not want Jesse to know her. Things get worse.
Can Jesse protect Jad from the paparazzi? Will Jesse and Jada get happily ever after? Can Jada forgive her best friend?
I really enjoyed the concept of this book but the delivery was a little lacklustre. It would have benefitted from a lot more focus on character and a lot less cliches. There were wayyyyyy too many romance tropes/cliches to keep track of: enemies-to-lovers, rags-to-riches, teacher-student, abusive parent, sick parent, celebrity MC, paparazzi, precocious kid, best friend that calls female MC a hooker and a bitch because she’s so incredibly cool, injury leading to hospital, overbearing overprotective male MC, unconscious eavesdropping, and the list goes on... The enemies-to-lovers aspect was really shoddy. Apparently all it takes is to be a gigantic asshole for the majority of the relationship and everything is hunky-dory, just as long as it’s under the guise of wanting to push someone to reach their potential. No matter that the blatant sexism and harassment is making me cringe, it’s fine for the female MC because she values looks over personality. Jada needed about 98% more self-respect. The mechanics in the book were really interesting though, I liked that Jada was talented and that she was allowed to be talented. It’s clear the author knows her stuff in this area - I just wish more care had been taken with getting the plot and characters right.
I really loved this easy Sunday afternoon read. The story follows Jada who is a female mechanic who wants to do fabricating (which turns out to be something to do with cars ...who knew) and she gets an opportunity to work with her idol Jesse Valentine, a gorgeous famous car fabricator. Turns outs he's a bit of a douche and they clash and butt heads constantly and I kinda loved the dynamics between the two. The story is realistic. ... Well to a point, and shows the struggles of a female in a male dominated role. I loved how strong Jada was and all the supporting characters where 3 dimensional and great characters, I especially liked Miguel. The story was sexy and teasing with just the right amount of steaminess to get the blood going. It did feel a little predictable and didn't stir many emotions but it was a brilliant easy read and felt perfect for chilling out with on a lazy day and my gosh is Jesse hot hmm. I probably would re read this book and any others by Vanessa Marie who's very talented at setting the scene and creating a worthy story. It is a standalone, not a cliffhanger and a HEA so a brill read that I would recommend
This far exceeded my expectations! I don't mean it poorly I promise! The blurb is spot on with grabbing your attention and building onto it. I originally expected this to be centered on the heroine and the secondary characters taking a backburner which works for some stories like I thought this one might be. I definitely expected to like this at the very least, but grew to LOVE it. The author did a Fuctastic job at developing the story and these characters. I never felt rushed in an unbelievable way. Jada was great I loved her growth and finding her voice. Jesse was exactly what I hoped for and so much more! Jada's bestie, Miguel, and Jesse's sister were well portrayed giving you enough to love em and want more of them without over powering our metal head Jada, because they play a significant part of learning who Jada is and how they help her grow!
I can not wait to see more of all of them. This was written in Jada's POV, so I SINCERELY and maybe with a bit of bite say and hope the author will write at least a novella in Jesse's POV.
This is a definite must read regardless of your typical genre preferences.
WOW WOW WOW !! This is my first book by this author and it blew me away. I read a lot of books and this has to be one of my top 10 favorite. If I could have given it 10 starts I would have. Jesse, Jada and all the secondary characters were incredible. The chemistry was off the charts with Jesse and Jada. I usually like to read books that have dual POV because it helps the story to be able to know what both characters are thinking. Although I would have loved to know what Jesse was thinking when he growled .... this book didn't need that. I could not put this book down. From the moment I picked this book up it consumed me. Now I am finished it I am sad because I would love to know more about the life that happens after they get together. I would love to read books about all the secondary characters. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I would highly recommend it. I am thinking about picking it up again right now and rereading it. That is how much the story stays with you. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
This story is about a woman who had a dream, finally gets an opportunity to learn not only more about her craft, but learn from the best. She has moxie, a temper, and a hard work ethic. She is a fighter, who goes after her dream, who continues to get up, no matter how many times she is knocked down. He is an alpha male with an attitude and a gift. He is a superstar with some trust issues. While reading this story, I found myself laughing quite often. From the first moment they meet, they go head-to-head, verbally sparing, and you can just feel the sexual tension between the two. He definitely ruffles her feathers and she gets under his skin. I loved watching their relationship develop and for them to get their happy ending. This a slow burn kind of love story. I loved this book!! I only wish that the his pov was there so that we knew what he was thinking and feeling. This was a great read. ARC gifted from the author in exchange for an honest review

"Maybe I wasn't as invisible as I thought I was. I decided in that moment I was taking control of my destiny."
Wrong- side- of- the- tracks, self taught fabricator mechanic Jada gets the opportunity of a lifetime with her idol in the business Jesse Valentine. Jesse is also the papparazzi "go-to boy" whose sister and PR specialist DeAnna is trying to reform in the press' eyes. He's gorgeous, smart and darn good at what he does.
In this coming-of-age romance, both Jada and Jesse start out at cross points but learn to respect and care for each other, and THAT'S one of the main reasons this reviewer fell head over heels for this story. A smart, funny poignant story that will have you in stiches one minute and tears another. One of my top ten of 2016.
If I was going to write a contemporary romance novel, I would hope it could be this good!
Vanessa Marie is a new to me author, but not anymore. I have found another author to add to my favourites list.
I loved that Jada wasn't a damsel in distress. She throw herself into a "mans world" and showed the jerks she knew what she was doing. The fact that she loved her parents so deeply and gave everything to them, touched my heart and more then once made me smile out of pride for her.
Jesse was a pig. But I loved him. He was tough on the outside , but deep in his heart he was a protector. I yelled at my kindle more then once because of something Jesse said and then the jerk redeemed himself and I loved him even more
Vanessa Marie is so amazing with her writing that it would be a shame if you didn't read this book! 5 stars!!
