Readers of zombie fiction usually want to know, "How did it get started?" Was it an alien bug? Man-made? Science experiment gone wrong? Voodoo curse? Food poisoning? Unless you were a virologist working for 20 years on secret, morally grey experiments in a lab complex hidden deep underground, you probably wouldn't know the answer. Hell, you probably wouldn't care, circumstances being what they were. Sarah, however, however, falls into virologist working 20 years in an underground lab category, so when she realizes that the work that she and her colleagues have been working on may be responsible for the end of the world, she's not exactly thrilled with herself. And when she witnesses her elderly friend and mentor scientist get executed by a mysterious man in a suit, her suspicions run even deeper. As the world collapses topside, a slash and burn order is directed for the Facility, and Sarah must locate evidence of the virus and make her way to an uncertain future topside.

This was a scary installment of the series. A group of scientists trapped in an underground lab that is about to self destruct fight to escape into the infected world above. Most frightening.
