It's a good premise and I know a little about ayurveda, so I thought this book would be very practical. It sadly is not.
First of all, the ingredients in many of the menus are not readily available in my small town.
Second, as a person who cooks for myself alone, I was dismayed to read that leftovers should not be consumed. How to prepare a single serving of time consuming black beans or lentils from scratch? Who wants to be chained to a stove day in and day out?
Third, far too many of my favorite vegetarian foods are no-no's, according to this author. Foods that I can grow at home are good for me, imo. Tomatoes especially!
Fourth, the print is very small and faint.
I did find one recipe I thought I would like, which requires whole cloves. I went to the store and saw that the price was $189 per pound!
All that said, there are some well explained principles in the book that are food for thought.
