The demons have started to make their move, and it’s up to the Ascendancy to find a way to stop them. A portal has opened, and the demons now have unfettered access to this world. It won’t be long until they put their vile plans in motion. Jackson will embark on a quest to hunt down the rumors of an ancient relic that can close an open portal to the demon realm. Will he find the Demon Stone in time to save humanity from the encroaching horde? Or will the world fall into darkness, as it almost did so long ago?
I enjoyed this fourth book in the series, just as much as the others. It has plenty of action, an adventure and a blossoming relationship. What more could you ask for?
We get another different POV from a couple of new characters, Nitro and Sir Roland. The later adventure has some unique challenges and a surprise at the end. The team of friends also meet an archfiend.
This story flows well and kept me interested. My only complaint, is that these books are just too short. It feels like you're just really getting into it, and then it ends. The way this one ends, is a complete surprise, although I did wonder earlier on if this was a possibility.
Overall, well worth picking up and continuing the series.
There was plenty opportunity for more development and extending the story but all in all it was good. I like the intrigue and the overall character development though there’s some hangers I’m looking forward to hearing more about.
Wow, this is my favorite book in the series by far! The books just keep getting better as they go along, and this one is fantastic.
Demon Stone is the fourth book in the Ascendancy Legacy series. It continues the adventures of Jackson and friends. This book is really neat because it takes events from the distant past and brings them into the present, tying everything together beautifully.
Jackson and his friends are dispatched to rescue one of their own from the clutches of the evil, sinister archfiend...quite possibly the most powerful demon they've come up against yet. And that's just the beginning.
There are quests, adventures, villains trying to take over the world, betrayal, heros, sacrifice, true love....this book has it all, and it was a wonderful journey from start to finish. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed this fourth outing in the Ascendancy Legacy series. With each book the reader can see how Bradford Bates' writing gets better and better.
The cover is excellent, and, for me, just sums up the whole book. A (mostly) confident Jackson showing his swords, ready to fight at a moment's notice. In the background the destruction caused by the demons, and Jackson's hand up at his mouth intimating his integrity coupled with a slight lack of self belief. Oh, and he's a wee bit sexy too! Things may be changing for him in the future, who knows?
Action packed, fast paced, emotive, exciting, sensuous, the words just flow across the page...and the ending! Fabulous stuff!
I received a digital gift (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
