I spent so much time studying with this book as I prepared for my NES that I figured I might as well include it in my reading for this year, haha. I actually did read this in its entirety and found it extremely beneficial. Time will tell if it helped me pass my test. I get my resluts in two weeks.
Pt 1: Teaching Theory & Practice Pt 2: Reading & Language Arts Pt 3: Mathematics Pt 4: Social Studies Pt 5: Sciences Pt 6: Arts & Music, Physical Education Pt 7: Practice Tests
The intro to this guide covers what to expect from the NES test on exam day, how the test is administered and scored overall, what percentage each section makes up of the entire test and the estimated amount of time each section is likely to take to complete.

This book helped me prepare for the NES standard test. The reading questions were the toughest as I am not in a teaching program yet. Without this book I am not sure I would have passed the reading area of the exam.
