About the author

In the spring of 1985, as a young man in search of answers, Matthew Bennett traveled alone to India and met his Gurudeva, the venerable sanskrit scholar, vaisnava saint, and eminent Vedic Acharya- Srila Sridhar Maharaja (1895-1988). The following year, on the banks of the holy Ganges river, Matthew was initiated into the brahminical lineage of priest-teachers, of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Lineage of West Bengal India, and given the name Matura Nath das. Inspired by the deep wisdom and devotion of his Gurudeva, Matura has engaged in educational outreach programs for the past 30 years. He has helped found four Ashrams in his Gurudeva's lineage, has taught over 1200 classes and led numerous kirtans in India, England, Australia and America.
