Average is for the birds.

And Jane Jones is average in every way. With sixty-seven Jane Joneses on Facebook alone, it’s easy to blend in. So when the universe spins its vindictive web of chaos, Jane refuses to interfere. Saving humans is somebody else's job. She's just here for the buffet.

When the local wanna-be-a-hero-priest corners her in Central Park, she’s convinced he’s lost his mind. He soon makes it clear that a shadow-villain is out to kill her. Plain Jane has a price on her head. Her only hope for survival is join his mysterious band of misfits.

But when their plans fail, she does the most logical thing: she captures the would-be-hitman and drags him to the Hotel Paranormal for the weekend.
In a fancy room with six hundred thread count sheets and complimentary champagne, can Jane turn an assassin to an ally?

A Hotel Paranormal story.

The Hotel Paranormal is THE place for supernatural beings looking to get away from it all. Beings like werewolves, vampires, elves, sprites, djinn and more check in from all over the world for business and for pleasure -- and sometimes for both.

Solid 3.5 stars...

I would give this a solid 3.5 stars. I really liked this book and I thought it was a complete new take for me on a paranormal, shifter Vampire story. I liked the character building and the world the author created. I thought Jane was relatable and tragic all at the same time. She was definitely the type of girl you root for. Grey also was intriguing and I want to more about him.

In all it was a fun short read but I couldn't help feel it could have been more. I never really got answers to some questions...What exactly is Grey? Who were the people that held Jane prisoner, why? Where did Jane come from?

For me I wanted more, simply because it intrigued me and I liked the characters. I know there is a book about Woe...I might pack my tissues and read that next

“I should have killed her already. It was my job, the thing I was hired to do. . . I was an assassin, and Jane Jones was my target.”
A supernatural being is hunting another supernatural being, only to fall in love with her. Other supernatural beings, with callbacks to previous stories, either help or hurt, depending on how they feel that day. The story begins in London 100 years ago before moving to present day NY, with the connecting device a mystical hotel where non-humans can have an erotic vacation.
There’s some explanation of the earlier story, but not enough; might have been better without it. Some good moments, but mostly meh. This doesn’t know if it’s a fantasy revenge chase story or an erotic romance.

Firstly I love the cover ! This is a great read and once I got into the story I really enjoyed this book.

It did however, take me a quite a while to get to grips with the story, especially 'who was who' and 'who was what'.

I really liked Jane Jones and connected well with her, but I would have loved to read more of their chemistry, there was this amazing build up then it jumped to after the event !

This is my first read from this author and she has a beautifully descriptive way of writing. I'm now looking forward to reading more in this series.

A little slow to start but the mysterious beginning definitely built mood. Sexier than I expected and enjoyable. I generally like modern fantasy and this had a little bit of a Charles de Lint vibe that appealed to me.

Definitely need to hunt down more by this author.
