Build your LEGO library!A new LEGO City reader, timed to tie into the new theme for Summer 2012, mining. There will be some caves, dark tunnels, and lots of digging--maybe even for gold!
I wrote my first book when I was 8 years old. I glued photos of my cats in a blank book and wrote about them, too. Now I am an internationally-published children's author commended by the Library of Congress for my work encouraging children to read. I write in a room between a deli and an art gallery on a small town street. I can see families walking by, and I can hear children laughing and playing. It helps me to remember what exactly I'm doing this for - creating books for families all over the world to use together, and helping children to love words.
What kid doesn't love Lego? A strong level 1 reading book for beginner's, it was on the easy side for my 5 yr old, but he's used to level 2 books now. Still, it was the beginning of reading on his own, while I got breakfast ready, and then I just quizzed him after about the contents to make sure he read it. This reading on his own is a new thing, but I appreciate any book to facilitate that idea!
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.
Easy to read and that's the whole point of it. This book can be used for educational reasons which is great when you've got a child who dislikes reading the normal boring books. I would've loved to read these books about lego characters when I was growing up.
Simple and easy to read. Plus very short which is great when teaching a child to read.
My son is very into Legos right now, so he grabbed this from the library when it caught his eye. The art is very cartoony and fun. The rocks all look like Lego pieces, keeping the theme going. There are also a lot of REALLY groan-worthy puns. It's pretty straightforward and a decent beginning reader book, but not terribly memorable other than the puns.
