This book contained to stories. The first was Dax and it was a good read. Dax was a little alpha male and treated Jayna like Crap at the beginning, but I liked the story. They met by her almost running over his dog. Then he had to rescue Jayna from his psycho ex. The second read had a lot of grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. I couldn't even finish it. It was just too much of all over the place. I guess one out of two was good. I recommend this book, but no the second story unless you want a lot of frustration.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed this one. Everything was well written from plot to flow to characters. I enjoy this genre of books and this one was captivating. I liked how the sparks flew between the characters and how they interacted together. I recommend it
Dax is ex MC Pres trying to start over after loosing the the only world he has ever known. Jayna is a good girl from a small town trying to make all her dreams come true in the big city. Until one chance encounter, where Jayna almost runs over Dax's dog throws them head first into each others worlds. Jayne and Dax quickly found themselves in the throws of passion, but it seems like instantly its over before it has begun or is it. While Dax decides to use the fact that he want to find out more about the odd disappearance of his dog months ago and recent reappearance to spend more time with Jayna, not realizing how much it will actually thrust her into his world he is trying to keep from her. The question is can Jayna survive what she learns about Dax, and is Dax ready for love again...
This was the 1st book I have had the privilage to read from Amy Love and grateful for the opportunity to be included in her Arc selection.
Tall, dark & dangerous is Dax; savvy & sweet is Jayna. Together they meet under terrible circumstances & begin to build from there. Despite terrible odds & danger that threatens lives, both Dax & Jayna fight to stay together. This story will make you sad, make you mad and then leap for joy. I loved Dax's character; gruff on the exterior but squishy like a teddy bear inside. Jayna, was soft on the outside, undetermined will power on the inside.
Animal lovers be warned, this story is centered around dog fighting. Dex's beloved pit bull Joker was taken for two months and has returned nearly alive. Jayna almost hit the dog but she didn't, and when a man comes near her and the dog, Dex recognizes his Joker.
Jealous ex, building romance after a rejected first time, justice will be served to shut down one of L.A. dog fighting group.
This is my first time reading from this author and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I've read a few MC books and although this is a little different I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. This is a fast paced, steamy read that kept me intrigued from start to finish. I will definitely be reading more from Amy Love!
The plot of this story was good. It flowed well. My only complaint was editing. I spent a lot of time having to re-read sentences just to try to make sense of what they meant. I felt that took away from the story too much and I couldn't fully immerse myself into it like I would normally do. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
