Ground-breaking artist Brendan McCarthy has been at the fore-front of independent comics since the early 1980s as well as the TV and film industry, including co-writing and designing Mad Max Fury Road. This oversized hardcover collection showcases all of his stories and covers for Judge Dredd including “Oz,” “The Day the Law Died,” “Dr. Panic,” “Atlantis,” and more!

Amazing book it you consider that it's more of an artbook than a Dredd collection. Yes, there are original 2000ad Judge Dredd stories throughout, but they are not necessarily connected or completed. It can be frustrating if you get hooked by a story, only to find that the conclusion was drawn by another artist, therefore isn't printed here. That said, the title of the book is "The Brendan McCarthy Collection" so that is to be expected. It's an oversized hardcover with absolutely amazing artwork from the co-creator of Madmax: Fury road. I would recommend to anyone who likes original, over the top comics.
The painful process of seeing one of your favorite artists develop from not very good to merely "ok". It's nice to see McCarthy develop some costumes for Judges around the world--yet this is nowhere near the pantheon of his best work.
I'm glad I got this book on sale, as I'd be rather miffed at $50. It's not a great reproduction.
