Rate this book
Rachel Jensen is not a beauty like her younger sister Kate, but she is clever and has a way with words that both captivates and inspires. When Kate must find a man to marry in order to save their family’s home, Rachel helps her check out the advertisements in the newspaper. Finding Cody Foster, a store owner in Livingston, Montana with a young daughter to care for, Rachel begins writing to him under the guise of being Kate. They hit it off right away and he soon proposes.

However, Kate loses interest in this love through the mail, and she runs off and elopes with another man. Rachel is determined to honor the proposal to this man and his young daughter. She and her mother Sylvia take the train to meet Cody.

Cody is surprised to see that she is not the stunning woman that he has seen in a photograph, but he soon learns that looks are not everything. Just when Rachel believes she may have found happiness, an unexpected obstacle gets in the way and threatens to ruin everything. Is it too late for Rachel and Cody? Can Rachel find the strength and love to conquer this unfortunate situation? Will Sylvia become the grandmother, that Lucille so desperately needs?

A beautiful, emotional, heart wrenching story about sisters, mothers and grandmothers, full of romantic interlude, which follows a unique journey that will grip and enthral you until the very last word…from Emma Ashwood

Good story. Well written, interesting, and entertaining. Clean with good morals. Can easily recommend this especially for those seeking Christian literature to read.
