Venturi Part Two

Rate this book
We crashed—I crashed—our ship on a huge alien world.
The emergency beacon lay on the other side of the jungle, our only way to call home, and I drew the short straw.
But on my journey, I discovered I wasn’t alone…
The native was big, midnight black, and fierce. For some reason, he’s determined to keep me alive, safe, and entirely his.

Part two of a serial about a human traveler, her alien mate (not that she knows that yet), and an adventure filled with peril.

Warning: hot alien, short serial, cliffhanger.

OH MY GOSH, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!

Annie is expertly puppeteering my emotions with this series so far. Part One had me experiencing a wide array of feelings, and now that Wendy and Venturi have met each other (no spoilers!) I am loving reading about them and how two foreign species interact with each other.

The descriptions of the scenery, the action scenes, the suspense, they are all done to perfection and this book so far is just another reminder of why Annie is one of my favorite authors. Her talent is undeniable!

And then the ending. Holy...Talk about doing 150 then slamming on the brakes! That's what was happening when Part Two ended. I CANNOT WAIT for Part Three!!!!

DELIFGTFULLY ENTERTAINING SCI-FI ROMP
Title: Venturi Part Two
Series: Crashlander
Designation: Book Two of Serial, NOT a Standalone, Cliffhanger Ahead
Author: Annie Nicholas
Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited
My Rating: Five Delightfully Entertaining Stars*****
Oh my! It's official! I'm completely in love with Venturi! It's absolutely delightful! I adore science fiction, totally smitten with sexy aliens, and completely addicted to romance, but up the ante with a little action and adventure, and I'm in heaven! And that's exactly what Annie Nicholas has given her readers in Venturi, and she's done it Annie Nicholas style with lots of cutesy humor, clever banter, instant attraction, dreamy romance, and some hot as haydees alien/human sex. Of course, a fabulously sexy sci-fi romp from the extraordinarily talented Nicholas shouldn't surprise me in the least since I'm already a huge Nicholas fan, and have been for several years, or more specifically since her Angler Series which was AMAZEBALLS, and if the first two installments of Venturi are any indication of what's to come, Nicholas most certainly has another hit on her hands! And yes, I did say installments, so be forewarned, this is not a standalone story. This is a serial with multiple releases and cliffhangers. I have no idea how many there will be but in the blurb, Nicholas states the complete serial will be available as a box set in October. I truly enjoyed the first book but I loved, loved, loved Book Two! Venturi is an exciting, clever, imaginative, fast-paced, well-crafted science fiction saga with a generous amount of danger, drama, action, adventure, humor, and romance. I can't even begin to imagine anything written by Annie Nicholas that doesn't contain humor and romance; it's just a given. The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite component of this story is the fascinating and totally engaging cast of characters. I became completely invested in the crew and their journey. I actually felt as if I were experiencing their terror as they crashed onto an unknown alien world. It was really kinda scary, so much so that my heart began fluttering wildly in my chest. The female protagonist of the story is Wendy, the plucky and extremely capable pilot of the spaceship, who lived on a space station near Saturn her entire life and has never even set foot on a planet until the crash. Heck, she's never even had a bath in water...until now! And wouldn't ya just know, her very first water bath is with a sexy alien! Hubba! Hubba! After all, water is a very scarce commodity in space, used only to cook and drink. We're briefly introduced to the male protagonist in Book One but in Book Two, we discover a lot more about him, including the fact that when he sees Wendy, he has a very unexpected reaction to her...because she's his mate! Oh my! His name is Venturi and he's very tall with a lean swimmer's body, lots of hunky muscles and dark skin...no scratch that since he doesn't exactly have skin, he has hide covered in a thin layer of black fur. Of course, when he looks at Wendy or touches her, he develops spots on his body. What? Yes, they're mating spots. They verify that Wendy is his mate. Oh, I almost forgot, he has incredible violet eyes with cat-like slits for pupils....and...wait for it...he has a long tail, almost like a lion. Huh? Yup, definitely a tail, and he really likes the color pink which is the adorable skin color of the beautiful, curvy female creature who just crashed onto his planet, Crashlander. I was immediately drawn into the story during the opening scene of the first book, where a small group of humans ventures out of our solar system to test the first ever spaceship capable of lightspeed... and almost immediately crash into an unknown planet. What? Yup, the very first flight. Apparently, Dr Pherb, the inventor of lightspeed technology, is not as good at flying or controlling the ship as he is at inventing the technology, much to the dismay of the actual pilot who now must guide the crashing spaceship and attempt a landing on the strange green planet. Green???? Good luck with that because they crash and not everyone lives. Oh no! And FYI, they aren't alone! There are all kinds of species inhabiting the planet, some friendly and some who are quite dangerous and just want to eat the humans for dinner. Oh no! Although there was no actual romance in the first book, Nicholas really got down to business in the second and we have lift off! Venturi recognizes Wendy as his mate, and strangely, Wendy is more than a lot attracted to Venturi. Now, if they can just overcome the language barrier so Venturi can convince her to accompany him to his village so his people can implant some sort of device under her skin which will prevent her from dying from radiation poisoning, then maybe he'll be able to claim her as his mate. And the sooner the better as far as Venturi is concerned because he wants pups! Unfortunately, Wendy has other things on her mind, like reaching the other half of the spaceship, which separated during the crash, so she can activate the rescue beacon to send a signal to Earth...and maybe they could eventually be rescued. Well, she couldn't be rescued because she'll die from radiation poisoning from being outside the spaceship unless Venturi can somehow make her understand she needs the implant. Sadly, she may be eaten by a dragon first. Oh dear! But stay tuned folks, there's more to follow in Part Three! I can hardly wait to find out if the remaining humans all survive...and if Venturi gets those pups! lol...! Well done, Annie Nicholas! Your personal love for science fiction translates well in this delightfully cute sci-fi romp!

Did I like it? No, I loved it! Will I read more? You bet! Just as soon as Nicholas releases Part Three! Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Well this review is a little hard because there's not too much for me to tell it's basically Ms. Annie is explaining about these two people discovering each other. And boy do the discover each other, with the language barrier it's really hard. BUT one thing is universal  guess what it is? Ooooooo and he gives good tongue.
Wendy aka When-di is running from this prehistoric Beast aka: Balaur he is Dragon like and this tall Alien helps her but When-di is scared, thinking she is needing to protect herself. As he puts her on his back he starts to climbs the trees. I want to go home this Alien with ragged teeth and the Dragon Balaur I'm done I won't make the day. I'll be EATEN!!!
Venturi can't believe his luck, seeing the spots on his hand means he's met his mate, but his mate is different from anything he's ever seen. What is her name? I keep pointing to my chest saying
“Venturi‘al Durab i Pallopa.” Finally she says When-di it's such a short name. Then she point at a female on a piece of paper and points to herself saying "Human" she does this many times and then points to another piece of paper of a man and point to me. AFTER a million times I realize pointing at her I say "Human" the pointing at my chest  “Tassuone" " Venturi isTassuone.” I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.

Thrilling and sexy addition to this incredible series!!

Part 1: Crash-landing on a planet and needing to hike to a distant piece of wreckage to activate the emergency beacon for a possible rescue.

Part 2: Starts with Wendy almost being eaten by a “dragon” and running headlong into a towering alien (with a tail like a lion) who takes hold of her and helps her escape.

Venturi is our alien. He is amazed this weak being has lasted this long in the hunting grounds of the balaur. Where he has touched her, spots appear on his skin – a sign she is his mate! He had thought the stories of the mating call by those who had bonded was embellished, but his mating barb and hormonal response say otherwise.

A sexy anatomy lesson takes place. Wendy does not know the taste she allowed started their mating ritual. She will need to be ready once the mating spot reached Venturi’s chest and ignited.

These two struggle to survive and to understand each other – in this sensual, exhilarating tale!!
Write faster Annie Nicholas!!!!

REVIEW
Wendy has to make it to the other half of the plane with the beacon, which is the only way they have to call home. Everyone who was on the plane with her except for one that they lost needs medical help. Along her journey, she runs into a native of the planet she is on and they have a huge language issue but nonetheless the being seems to want to keep her safe.

Now they are being chased can this being keep her safe? Will he help her get to the beacon? Well you get a cliffhanger so you will need to wait just a little bit. I am still enjoying this story and although short, it packs a punch.

Annie Nicholas you are killing me with these cliff-hangers! At least this time I expected it. Actually, it reminded me of what my parents told me about watching Flash Gordon as kids and how every week ended with a cliff-hanger. That would have driven me crazy!

Anyway, I think I liked part 2 two even better than part one. It was actually amazing to me that Venturi and Wendy were so attracted to one another even though they were so very different. The description of Venturi made me think of a humanized panther, and yes panthers are gorgeous, but I can't imagine being sexually attracted to one. And yet, it was written in such a way that it was completely believable.

This book is so unique, to me anyway, that I have to recommend it. If I'd heard the plot before it had been written I would have said, don't bother. I'm so glad she did because this is really amazing.

The author has created a very suspenseful series. Part one introduced us to the planet that Wendy landed on and we watched as she tried to find a way to get help. It is a dangerous place and she does not know until now that she is being watched.

This second part is her introduction to the alien that is very attracted to her. There is a lot of danger and fear as she tries to understand the situation. He wants her for his mate but communication is an issue. I so look forward to the next part. The characters are very interesting and I like that I don't know exactly which direction the story will go in next.

First part was better, but it's my fault to love the background more than the love story....Anyway as usual Annie Nicholas is a good writer and I enjoy her.

La prima parte era meglio, ma come al solito é colpa mia che leggo un alien-romance per la parte di fantascienza....Comunque lei scrive bene e mi diverte sempre.
