I was born and raised in the small town of Klamath Falls. It is there that I met my husband and had my first two children. In 1999 we left Klamath Falls, headed towards Portland. I have since had one more child and have settled in Newberg. I worked as a waitress in a French Bistro for nearly five years before quitting to help care for my ill grandmother. It was during my care of her that I decided to go to school for Medical Assisting. I had planned on continuing onto nursing, but landed a job with a Dr. I highly admire in a practice that I love, that has trained me beyond my schooling. In the nearly five years that I have been employed there, I have spent a large amount of time commuting. During those times I would spin many stories in my mind with the intention of writing them down. I have always loved to write, but have ventured away from it due to lack of time and life. The story of Neveah and Lilly stuck with me and I decided to write it down. I never intended for it to go this far, or become a full fledged story that I would be so proud of. I look forward to seeing where this journey leads me!

This is the second book and if you read Millionaire you basically know what happens.
This is the story Jewel told Cash but in more detail. It was sad though to see everything she went through before meeting him.

I was given an eArc in exchange for a honest review. Thank you

Great read if....you enjoy short stories, quick reads, darker sides, overcoming demons, and a finding yourself.

Side Note: Love this author. Love how this series is forming and where it is headed. Love these characters and Angie's writing style is most definitely solid. Take a chance on this standalone novella!

Books about addiction and recovery is the genre l judge hardest. This is a fiction and a love story.. My fault because I didn't look if it was fiction or true.
But when someone is going to write about this disease l demand that you have knowledge about it. This is a book that I can only recommend to those who love romantic and fluffy thing.
I'm absolutely sure that not a single person that had used heroin would recommend it either.
This is a good romance but still a fairy tale about the hardest thing an addict will do and it piss me off when people try to make it sound so easy. I have lost to many people in this disease and I hate the way people make both the addiction and recovery to a minor thing like she has broken a bone and 1.2.3 the recovery is done and the addicted heald. Well I wish that too and because this book is a cliffhanger the author could done more research about addiction, let the reader learn how ugly the world around addicted people are and how hard it is to quit in part one and then let her move to the half way house in part 2.

Review:
This is a very interesting concept. The author is releasing a series of stand alone novellas leading to a full length novel. I am intrigued to see how this will play out. I read the first book Millionaire, and really liked Cash and Jewel as characters. This story is Jewel’s story giving more background into her character than we received in Millionare. The plot of this story is about a young girl and how she claws out of a horrible life and how she survives an overdose and gets her addiction under control. This story was raw and powerful. There really is no chemistry in this story that reads almost like a fictional autobiography. Jewel does go down the rabbit hole with the jock from high school, but I think that the chemistry in one sided. I am going to rate the chemistry a 5 however, because I don’t want to detract from a 5 star rating for a story that moved me so much. The pacing is fast and my heart was racing throughout the story. In 55 short pages the author was able to develop this character to the point that I felt that I knew her personally. Great second part to The Laundromat Chronicles.

Part two- Addict: The Laundromat Chronicles

"My life is not a fairy tale. It’s fucking dark and dirty.”- Jewel

Jewels is an ex-druggie who's on the road to recovery. After waking up in a hospital, that's when Jewels gets her second chance at life, but it's not going to be easy.

" I’m damaged goods.”- Jewel

Trying to navigate through a sober life, Cash comes crashing in. But Jewels feels as tho she's damaged goods and no one will ever want her, or that she deserves any happiness.

Cash will change that all!

Jewels character is one of self loathing, non-believing and closed off. I'm glad towards the end she rectified herself. Because that got annoying. It's like as if every character that came into contact with Jewels, had to tell her what she didn't believe. And that probably makes me mean, but it's my truth. I'm truly excited to see where they end up in 'Life' And once again, I think this novella series is a brilliant concept! With them being Novellas, there is enough information, drama and so on to keep you concentrated on the story.

This is the second book in the laundromat series. In the first book you were introduced to Jewel, this book is about her story. Life hasn't been easy for Jewel from her childhood that included her father going to prison to her mother being on drugs. But just when Jewel is starting to turn a corner she ends up in hospital and realises this could be the chance she needs to take back control of her life. This is when she meets Cash but when she starts taking a chance on him she has to trust that he won't let her down like everyone else has in her life something that is difficult for Jewel to change & believe. The story is more fast paced than the first book and you can't but it down once you've opened and read the first page. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens with Cash & Jewel and hoping that they will both get there HEA.

Addicted (Laundromat Chronicles) by Angie Merriam
This is the second book in the series. If you read book one you were introduced to Jewel. This is her story and what a story it is. Life has dealt her a rough hand from the start. First her father, landing up in Prison and then her mother turning to drugs. Just when Jewel thinks she can escape this awful life, she is dealt another blow. Her life spirals out of control until she wakes up in a hospital. Could this be the chance she needs to take back control of her life? Will she always feel guilty and dirty for the past life? On her new journey can she take a chance on the beautiful man named Cash? Or will he let her down like everyone else. This story is gripping. Very fast paced and will keep you tapping the pages. Looking forward to the conclusion of Cash and Jewels sotry.

Jewel was a young girl with a difficult life, so when she is finally getting ready to move, fate had another plan for her. A plan that would change her life forever.

Jewel has been clean and ready to move forward, however once again fate has another plan for her and his name is Cash Green.

This second installment has shine a light on Jewel's past and present we are seeing how Cara became Jewel, and how Jewel is trying to get Cara back. This short story was so powerful and emotional you will feel her pain. I can't wait see how Cash and Cara's story will end.

You don't want to miss this crazy good story.

This book comes in at the start of Jewels life when it changed from the sweet loving girl, losing her parents and wanting to get out of town, to the slums needle infested crack houses, selling herself for the next hit, what happens how does she end up in the halfway house and in cash’s life at the Laundromat, it melts the heart the way this girl tries to do right, but can she finally believe the things that Cash is offering and the live her life free . Defiantly a brilliant second back story to this series and we see more of the rest of the characters to come, I can wait still hope grandma ruby gets her own book!

Novella 2 in the Laundromat Chronicles is about Jewel/Cara. She is a recovering drug addict and Cash’s love interest. (Cash being the Millionaire in Novella #1.

As promised this novella gives us a more In depth look at Jewel/Cara’s past and how she came to be a regular at the laundromat. Her’s is sad yet uplifting tale and one this reader highly recommends. The author does an amazing job in giving the reader a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of Cara's life. This is another wonderful look into one of the main characters in the upcoming full length final installment called Life. Next up is “Baby” which is Hap and Lena’s story.

This the first book by Angie Merriam that I have read. Now I can't say that I love this book, because the subject matter is a little close to home. I can say that this book is well written and thought out. The main character is very believable and I could see some of my friends in the character Jewel. The budding relationship between Jewel and Cash has me intrigued. I look forward to seeing what happens with them in this series. Even tho most of this story line deals with the dark side of life of an addict I do recommend this read. Now I need to go back and read Millionaire, Cash's story. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

We are introduced to Jewel in book one bow here in book two we get her side of the story. Shes never had an easy life but shes finally on the right track to take control of her life. During this time she meets Cash. Will he stick by her side or when he finds out about her past walk away?

Looking forward to see where the rest of this series goes and how Cash and Jewels story ends.

This is the second novella in the Laundromat Series. We met Jewel in the first book, Millionaire, which is Cash’s story. Well, the start of his.

This is Jewel’s story.

We already knew she was an addict. We get how it all started and how she ended up at Sheila’s house. We get her point of view of Cash.

Her backstory isn’t pretty at all. It’s so sad.

I can’t wait until November when we get the conclusion of everyone’s story.

Once again Angie has brought another wonderful book to us. This is book 2 of the Laundromat Chronicles. It is Jewels story. You met her in book 1. Addict tells the struggles that Jewel dealt with. The friends that was made in the most unlikely place and love is in the air.

Another book to be added to your TBR
