Torn from Two
by Sam JD Hunt
Torn from Two picks up a short while after Taken by Two ends (no worries, no spoilers if you haven’t read the first book). Nate, Penny, and Rex are living together in beautiful South America. When a person from Rex’s past arrives at their doorstep—literally—a sequence of events will test their love for one another.
Rex is thrown for a loop when Luther shows up needing his help. There’s something about Luther that Penny doesn’t trust, but Nate seems to really like him. Luther is an enigma, and he has many layers that I found very intriguing. I enjoyed reading from Rex, Nate and Penny’s POV, and admire Sam’s ability to do that almost seamlessly. You feel like you’re in their heads and hearts while reading this story.
Meanwhile, Nate’s sister disappears after fighting her own demons, and he sets out to find her in order to keep her safe. While searching for her, Nate struggles to keep his head above water with his own issues.
I liked learning more about Penny and Nate’s pasts, which wasn’t fully explained in Taken by Two. It was great getting to know Nate a little better, and finding answers to questions I had about him from the previous book. Like Taken by Two, the love scenes in this book between Rex, Penny, and Nate are off the charts hot!!
There were twists and surprises that kept the story interesting. I really hated to see this series end, but I’m happy with how their story was wrapped up.
I loved Torn from Two and give it 5 stars!
