Reviewed on behalf of “2 Girls Who Love Books” blog. The Elite Doms of Washington Series continues with Perfect which is book #3. All books in the Series are standalones but the author does a wonderful job of weaving the recurring characters into each book and keeping the theme of the Series.
I loved this story! Be prepared twists, mysteries, suspense, moral dilemmas, tons of emotional feels and of course some amazing BDSM scenes. I felt so invested in the characters and I never wanted to put it down. I recommend this book to anyone with a love for the different styles of BDSM and D/s relationships. Elizabeth has not yet failed to surprise me with her knowledge of the subject and her ability to open my eyes to new things in the lifestyle.
Perfect receives 5 amazing stars from me! To earn a 5 from me, you must write an amazing story that mirrors real-life issues and take me through the trials of overcoming challenging obstacles to reach that elusive HEA. Perfect has done that! Of course, I need to avoid spoilers here, so just know that the issues facing Mark and Isabella are intense and perhaps a bit extreme but they are ones that make for a great story line and many people will relate too, especially the pain, guilt, and regret that can be part of the aftermath with the loss of a loved one. Emotional feels in this book are strong and brought tears to my eyes. The ending chapters are full of emotional pulls and they are amazing. The last two words of this book brought a real smile to my face. When an author makes me feel empathy for the characters to the core of my being, then they earn 5 stars.
The hero of Perfect, Mark Santos, was introduced in Lovely, but we didn’t know much about him. Turns out he is also a super hot alpha dominant, a member of Accendos, and in need of an obedient submissive. But not just any submissive will do. He has loved a specific woman, Isabella, for many years but she was forbidden and he did his best to stay away out of respect and loyalty.
When circumstances bring Isabella back into Mark’s life, he makes sure to show her that their time has come and he is the man she needs in her life. She doesn’t need much convincing since she needs a safe place to land and has harboured feelings for him for years as well and thus their story and healing together begins. Both Mark and ‘Ella’ have many issues from the past that need to be dealt with and together they will face them all.
This story deals with some intense, veering towards hard-core, BDSM material, but the author is very mindful to provide a warning in the beginning of her book and provides an explanation of the sexual proclivity we are about to be introduced to. Although there may be those that question why any woman would want what Isabella needs, there are women out there that need the type of discipline and dominance that Mark provides.
I would not recommend this book for anyone that cannot accept that some people enter a consensual D/s relationship that may include some aspects that don’t appeal to everyone. Domestic Discipline may not be your cup of tea, and that’s ok, but you can still enjoy reading about it knowing that everyone involved is doing so willingly.
Elizabeth has given subtle hints throughout the book on who’s story may be next ensuring that the works of this author and this Series are far from over, giving her readers more amazing stories to look forward too. She has also made reference to Mark’s previous employer, Guardian Security. You can read more about this secret security operation and the alpha men that make up this special team in the Kings of Guardian Series by the amazing Kris Michaels.
