A Quick Lightweight Read

Deena gets suspended.from.the fire department.fof.three.weeks which she decides to spend in the mountains of North Carolina. She rents a cabin and droves there with her border.collie.Zip. The cabin's owner Carl, a retired.police officer from the little town of Shady Springs, has a Jack Russell named Robber and a sister named.Lucy. Both figure significantly in the two stories contained in this book. Seems encounters a number of dead bodies and small town characters.in her short stay.

So dang cute, plenty of fun!!

I really enjoyed this cute little mystery, but it's better than just one--it's a twofer! It's cute, it's funny, and it's sweet. I love the dogs and their hoomans. The mysteries are fun to follow. The characters are included in the Chevy series by the sane author, but they get the front line here. If you've read the Chevy series, you'll recognize some of the dogs and people, and maybe there's a cameo or 2? Recommend!!

A great new dog series by a favorite dog author

Here we have a dog named Zip, an energetic border collie who keeps his first responder mistress company while she is investigating small town funny business in the mountains of North Carolina. Thank you Ms Hiker for another good, clean read.

Cute

A suspended firefighter takes a vacation with her dog in a small rural community. Staying in a cabin rented by an retired cop she becomes involved with the quirky townsfolk and drawn into small town murder and mayhem

This book contains two stories. They are cute with no explicit sex or violence. It is a fun collection, light hearted without being too cutesy.

Too many plot holes

Light and easy read with too many plot holes to be believable or even enjoyable--has potential if it weren't so simplistic

Good read

This was a very enjoyable read unfortunately the book was way too short for the price of the book. The characters are well-developed and the stories are entertaining.

Simplistic

Gentle mysteries w little substance. The dog is friendly, at least. None of the characters is art all developed. Instead, we have only their job descriptions to hang on them: suspended firefighter, retired detective, herding dog, terrier. Yawn.
