Unexpected Heat

Lone wolf Nitro Blackwood doesn't like people. As far as he's concerned, the human world doesn't exist. But for a few short days every year, the heat takes over and the undeniable urge to mate draws him to San Francisco and out of his self-imposed solitude. He's willing to deal with all the foul odors, congestion and general misery for some bump and grind action.

Computer programmer Peter Callaghan likes his quiet, boring life. But like every year since his seventeenth birthday, a rampaging need to screw every guy with a heartbeat takes over. During this time, he finds he can climb out of his shell and be a normal, horny and slightly sarcastic twenty-five-year-old. Peter knows the hulking man with a biker's name will go down in history as his hottest bang, but Peter gets more than he bargained for. When the man shows up several weeks later, raving about pregnancies and mythological creatures, Peter realizes he's being held captive by a crazy person.

Except, things start to get weirder. After escaping, Peter is chased down by a rabid wolf, and Nitro pops out of nowhere to rescue him sporting fur, fangs and claws. As Peter witnesses the unimaginable, he realizes Nitro might be telling the truth about more than him being a shape-changing beast. Having been thrust into a mysterious and bizarre world, Peter is forced to rely on Nitro and something long buried inside Peter begins to awaken.

But could they possibly have a future together?

Sweet Heat

Fate has brought them together. Can they heal each other’s wounded hearts?

Brayden Redstone has spent years in captivity to the Highborn, a group of shifters who want to breed their own army. Desperate to escape, he finally slips through his captors’ clutches and reaches Haven, an island sanctuary for omegas.

Rex Cleveland is a physician at Haven. His alpha nature is attracted to Brayden, but he knows the fox shifter needs time to recuperate from his ordeal. Besides, the half-human Rex can’t shift … and feels unworthy to mate with anyone.

As Brayden recovers, he gradually realizes that the feelings Rex stirs in him are the natural desires of an omega for his alpha. Can Rex put aside his need to protect Brayden and accept that this mating is freely chosen? And even if he does, can Brayden overcome the scars of his past?

Kiss of Heat

Fate isn’t always enough. Can they overcome the past to build a future together?

Felix Mulligan was captured by an alpha of the Highborn, an elite shifter group trying to breed their own army. He’s finally been rescued… but he’s not ready to accept that the life he led before he was taken is gone forever.

Businessman Keegan StoneClaw agrees to look out for Felix while he recovers, and the pair soon recognize the attraction that simmers between them. However, Felix’s captivity left him pregnant, and he doubts that the alpha would willingly raise another man’s child.

Even though they’re not yet bonded, Keegan’s protective nature drives him to desperate measures. Can he ensure that the Highborn will never target Felix again? And when the truth comes out, will the young omega forgive him?

More like 2.5 stars.

I liked some bits. I disliked some bits. But there were some things that I absolutely hated. One of them was the almost similar narration in all three stories. How could three different people from different places have the same narration style? Another thing I hated was the misspelled words. Eventually, I just had to remove my editing glasses and get on with finishing the book.

I started it to pass the time while I decided on which book to read next, so it entertained me enough. But it was a really tough entertainment.

This series was an unexpectedly good one. (First book contained a few errors, but the other two were clean) Various shifter pairings - wolf, fox, bear. Each story builds on the one before, the characters making additional appearances in later books.
