First Kiss

Rate this book
I let him kiss me, marveling at the emotions zipping through my body. Hesitation, at first, then fear—that somehow, I would get this all wrong. I’d never been kissed like this before—at least, not outside my imagination.

But that warm touch—his hand in my hair, the other sliding under my coat—it melted the fear away. My lips began working back against his. My hands cautiously roamed his body. I pressed against him, just a little, in excitement.

Claire has never been kissed. She hides her curvy figure behind a lab coat and is resigned to the fact that she’ll never meet a man.

But then Austin walks into her life. He’s the rich, powerful, arrogant CEO of the pharmaceutical company she works for—and the most handsome man she’s ever met. When they get locked together for the night, sparks will fly… and by the time morning comes, they’ll both have discovered something neither of them has had before.

First Kiss is a short, steamy romance that follows the relationship between a plus size scientist and her handsome billionaire boss, including a raunchy first time scene which is for adults only.

This is book one in a four part series. Each book is a self-contained episode, but just like a good TV series, this first book has a cliffhanger which builds a larger storyline across the four books. The series has a HEA.

First book in "The scientist and the CEO" series

Some time ago, I used to be a science nerd before I decided that there is life outside the lab and that it was passing me by. I remember that when you spend about 18 hours inside the lab repeating the same boring experiment over and over again without the desirable results, there is a point where you decide to kill yourself, or you leave the lab screaming and crying or you start fantasising and escaping from reality.
I am sure one of the fantacies most of the science nerds have is that they discover the cure to a lethal disease and/or the manager of the industry/pharmaceutical company they are working for comes to the lab, falls straight away in love with them and they end up making passionate love on the floor of the same lab they deep down want to demolish.
That was also Claire's dream and this is happening in this first book. What can I say? Cute. I really feel for the girl. I understand her.

Austin Douglas was an azz. He landed his helicopter right in the middle of the lawn of the pharmaceutical company he had just purchased. As Claire Hughes watched him, she decided she didn't like him at all. All the scientists were afraid he was going to fire them and replace them with his people. They were having their first meeting with him and Claire the smartest and the only female scientist watched as he descended from the helo. He was gorgeous and when the team met with him after he made them wait an extremely long time. He didn't pay attention to anything the guys said. Then, it was Claire's turn and he continued to be rude and not pay attention. He, at first asked her to speak up. Then he continued to tap his pen and not give her his attention. She stopped in her report, stared at him and waited. When her supervisor asked her was there a problem, she told him no, that she was just waiting until they ALL were ready. This got his attention and he looked up at and listened. He still tried her and asked could she give just the high points. Her answer to him was, "no." She thought she might lose her job, but she refused to be bullied.
He asked, "What was that?" She replied again, no. He said fair enough and asked her to continue. They wound up being locked in the lab. Where he seduced her and sexed her, then they fell asleep. When the cleaning crew came in to clean they were released and she about to leave she saw his briefcase and a paper was exposed. The paper stated "Closure Of American Facility." I loved Claire's bravery and felt sorry for her at the thought of her losing her job. Can't wait for the next book.

I'm loving the start of this series! Nikki definitely has a way of drawing you in and leaving you wanting more!!

In this first book we meet Clair--curvy scientist that is perpetually hiding behind her lab coat. She's about go to a meeting where she has to discuss the discovery she recently made, when in walks the new CEO, Austin. Known for being a no-nonsense boss, she gets even more nervous. But as she notices him not paying attention, she proceeds to open her mouth and...

Not going to go into what happens, it was just too funny, and it helps set the tone for the series. Both main characters seem to have more to them than what they allow the world to see, and we only get a small taste of that in this first book. After a very hot encounter between Claire and Austin, we get some disturbing news that will make you want to grab the rest of the series! Love the shy character of Claire--she's only comfortable when she discusses anything relating to science. Austin comes off as an arrogant CEO, but Claire is able to peel back some of those layers to start to see what might be underneath. Their first hot scene together is so deliciously yummy!! On to the rest of the series!

This is part one of a four part series book called 'The Scientist and The CEO'. This first one is called First Kiss because it's the first time they meet and later share their first kiss. It was funny, sweet and steamy.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Wow, what a great book. What a hot and sweet, dirty treat. Austin is so freaking SEXY! And funny! And adorable in the HOTTEST way!!! Did I say HOTTT, yes. . . yes! Pure pleasure. Dirty. Decadent. Divine—this sums up the story. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Nikki Steele, and I thought this was a great series. I enjoyed the characters of Claire Hughes and Austin Douglas. Together, their banter is refreshing, and their sex is off-the charts hot. Austin is tall, handsome, sexy, arrogant, wealthy, and the new CEO of a pharmaceutical company where Claire works. Claire is a curvy scientist at the company and in her leisure time, she is an amateur photographer. Claire finds herself quite attracted to Austin and the feeling is mutual with some sizzling chemistry but Claire messes things up which causes some turbulent scenes. Great start to a series and this book will pique your interest.

This is a interesting and intriguing book to read and although it ends on a cliffhanger, I still enjoyed reading it. The story covers Claire Hughes a scientist and a amateur photographer in her spare time, she meets Austin Douglas the new arrogant CEO of the pharmaceutical company where she works. What you will find in this story is drama, suspense, intrigue, a arrogant man, a curvy female scientist, a presentation, being blunt and outspoken, visions of unemployment, lab, accident, red button, locked down, attraction, first time, a confidential file, closure of all American facilities, emotional feelings and there is a erotic scene. The story-line and pace is well written and steady and the characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a good billionaire romance.

First Kiss (The Scientist and the CEO book 1) I found to be an honest and believable account of a young woman's experience in a man's world and all that comes with being brainy while not necessarily seeing the inner beauty of oneself.
The characters are earthy and detailed each developing as the story flows.
The storyline dips and weaves well, ending at a poignant juncture.
Can't wait to see what happens in remainder of the series.

Claire is a scientist who lives for her work she is also passionate about photography. She is also the only person who stands up to her new boss.
Austin is the new CEO of the pharmaceutical company where she works and he is intrigued by Claire.
The first part of this book is very fast paced and ends on a cliff hanger. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

An intriguing start to a new series. Claire and Austin seem to be a perfect balance for each other: Claire's not very worldly while Austin's so worldly he's practically jaded. He can offer her experience while she brings innocence to the mix. I'm looking forward to watching Claire and Austin's relationship develop.
