Sarah Todd Hammer and Jennifer Starzec were paralyzed by a rare condition called Transverse Myelitis when they were 8 and 13 years old. You read about what happened when they were first struck by the disease and their journeys to dance and run again in 5k, Ballet, and a Spinal Cord Injury, but that was just the beginning.

Now Sarah Todd and Jen are older, and learning how to cope with the lasting effects of this disorder. An excellent continuation of the original book, Determination recounts the girls’ lives post-TM from June 2012 to July 2014, and is a story of friendship, as well as one that illustrates how both successes and failures continuously shaped them as they grew and matured.

One-third of all proceeds from this book are donated to the Center For Courageous Kids Transverse Myelitis Family Camp and ICSCI at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
