Meet Warren (junior that is). Just like his late father and namesake, he’s a player… except not one to get caught up in drama like his dad. There will be no out-of-wedlock babies (or in-wedlock either), no trail of tears in his honor, and damn sure no love. His path is his own and he doesn’t have time for distractions – just temporary detours.
Meet Brooke. It doesn’t take long for Warren to realize she’s perfect – as a player recognizes their own. She gets the rules and expects no exceptions. In fact, she even has a few rules of her own.
Tia Kelly is the author of contemporary romance and women's fiction. She is known for her candid way of capturing life's moments, one character at a time.
A very nicely written novella. Although it's a prequel to the full length story, the storyline flows at a nice pace. Which tends to be the case with Tia Kelly's stories. Her characters in this novella are well defined and some of their feelings relatable. In the end it leaves you yearning for more. I anticipate Warren Jr. and Brooke's full novel. So if you are limited on time and want a nice quick read then this is the book for you.
Really enjoyed this novella. I was shocked when all of a sudden it ended. I did not know it was a prequel. Loved Warren, Jr. and Brooke. Looking forward to the complete story.
It was just short. The first one was too. I just needed more if you was go end it so quick like that. I need more than 30 minutes. Have it 5 star cos I like this author hope she give me more book next time.
I really enjoy Tia Kelly's novels. I have read every one up to present. This one is no exception. I only gave it three stars because it's to be continued. What a cliff hanger.
While I'm not happy this is a cliffhanger, I did thoroughly enjoy the read. Warren JR. And Brooke are an unlikely couple. They know each other from their days at the private school they both attended as children. He was the basketball stars child and she was the coaches daughter, only in the school because he worked there. This story includes some reminiscing about the past, and a main story line of Warren Jr. trying to launch his gaming company. I do hope that the relationship between his little brother Jason, and he and Trent improves. It isn't Jason's fault that their father, Warren Sr. was a rolling stone.
I can't believe you made me like Warren, Tia Kelly, lol. I truly enjoyed reading Brooke and Warren's story. Their character chemistry was A-MA-ZING allowing the story to flow smoothly from beginning to end. I'm still not a Lillian Scott fan, especially after reading Diane's story, "Love Is". It was nice to get a glimpse of what's going on with Brandi, London, and Trent. I hope to hear more from them soon. I'm friending to read, "A Better Man". Oh yeah, I like Jennifer and love Jason. Hopefully we'll hear more from them in the future as well.
I really wasn't feeling this version of Warren Scott from the glimpses that we got of him in Baby Love, so I was curious to see what the author would do with him in this one. Within the first few pages, I was pretty sure that finally, here's a Warren Scott that I actually like! Cause the original Warren Scott: All the ughs!!!
I really liked Warren and Brooke and enjoyed their story immensely. They were both players, who thought they had their games down pat, but then they connected and their games changed completely.
Warren Scott was a sports agent and game developer. He was in town seeking a contract with an athlete who was nearing retirement. Warren was also seeking financing for his sports game. Warren was still struggling with his father's infidelity with all the extra siblings dropping in at every turn. Warren ran into his former coach's daughter Brook Howard and the connection was epic. The two of them spent a full filled and sensual weekend getting under one another's barrier's to start something new. The steamy sexy weekend was Scott-tastic..
Okay, I somehow didn't get the message that this is just a prequel. Loved it....but I need more. These guys, this family in fact, is a piece of work. Their Dad truly did a number on them.
I'm looking forward to the full length novels. I love what I've read so far.
