Rather than disappoint his beloved aunt, billionaire Derek Sherbrooke has reluctantly agreed to participate in her foundation’s a bachelor auction. Concerned about who the lucky winner will be, he devises a plan and enlists the aid of his longtime friend Brooklyn Novak. All she has to do is make sure no one outbids her. It was a simple plan... until they kissed.
Successful attorney Brooklyn Novak met Derek in college, and has loved him ever since—despite her father’s disapproval. Rather than risk their close friendship, she’s constantly kept her true feelings buried. When Derek asks for her help, she knows it’s a disaster waiting to happen, but can’t say no. But what was supposed to be a simple charade quickly puts her on an emotional roller coaster ride to a place she never wanted to go.
Can these longtime friends find their happily ever after together?
The book was awesome as all this authors books are. However, I hated how the book ended. I kept turning the page back and forth to see if I missed something. Hopefully the story will be finished in the next book.
This book picks up in the Sherbrookes series last book where Derek, Allison's twin brother has to deal with the foundation's charity auction where he unhappily volunteered to be a bachelor they were going to auction four dates to the highest bidder. He managed to convince his best friend of ten years and co-worker, Brooklyn to out bid everyone with his money. She reluctantly agreed to do it but did not like to deceive anyone. After she had the winning bid they kissed for the photographers something electric happened between them that they were not expecting. Derek could not explain his jealously everytime she talked about getting to know her father's friend divorced son , Trevor. Their kiss woke him up to his true feelings about Brooklyn that he actually loved her. Now that he came to that realization he was determined to convince her that they belonged together regardless of what her father felt about him. She felt the same way about him and it was very romantic as he showed her how he loved her by his actions as well. Things did get complicated when her father became irrational about her decision to not abide by his wishes to be not be with Derek. He even told her she had to pick between her family or Derek and he was going to cut her out of the family. He even suffered a heart attack and would not see her when she saved his life and got him help. He gave her an ultimatum that was either her family or Derek. In the end she made the right decision and picked Derek, her fiance. Her sisters stood by her and felt their father was wrong with his actions and they were not standing behind him. All the Sherbrooke family were so happy that Brooklyn and Derek got their happily ever after finally and were very supportive treating her like one of the family. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series
This is a story about two best friends who have known each other for ten years. One has secretly been in love with the other, while the other didn't realize his love until circumstances pushed them together in a way he never thought. Derek has been persuaded to participate in a bidding auction he doesn't want any part in, so he calls in a huge favor from his best friend. Derek does not realize the consequences of his favor, or the domino affect it will take on both his and his best friend lives or the repercussion of the decision. Something is awoken inside Derek he never felt before and he dives right in to capture it. I can relate to Brooklyn on so many levels and my heart went out to her, I felt as if I was reading part of my story through her. Brooklyn sets out to do a huge favor for her closets best friend only things spiral out of control when her father insists, she date someone who benefits him, not only that he has always hated the Sherbrooke's. I love how sweet and wholesome Brooklyn is in this story, but her parents are not impressed with her and her choices. I love how strong, determined and confident Brooklyn is in her own skin to stand up and not let her parents dictate her life, especially when given an ultimatum. No one should have to choose between family and love. This is an amazing book filled with lots of heavy drama, manipulation, friendship, sweet moments, and love. This book also touches on some issues of appearance, bullying, and petty grudges; grudges are very destructive, can make you bitter and hurt those around you. I loved this story and the banter between Derek and Brooklyn, as well as catching up on the other Sherbrooke's, especially Dereks twin Alison. This story is heartbreaking, heartwarming and eye opening. I can't wait to keep reading the next book.

Wow what an abrupt ending! For an author to spend so much time developing characters and relationships it's a bummer for me when there is such an abrupt ending! Having read the other books in this series, I assume that these two will show up in the next book, but I wanted more to THEIR relationship! Overall, I've enjoyed this series, and I guess when you're left wanting more, maybe it's because you've developed a connection with the characters?!?! On to book 9... hate when I find a great series and it's coming to an end... makes me want to hold on to the last book and read it VERY slowly! ha!
Bidding On The Billionaire by Christina Tetreault is pure fun to read. Ms Tetreault has given us a well-written book loaded with phenomenal, lovable characters. Ms Tetreault also gets an A+ for dialog. Brooklyn and Derek's story is packed with drama, humor and spice. I enjoyed reading Bidding On The Billionaire and look forward to reading more from Christina Tetreault in the future. Bidding On The Billionaire is book 8 of The Serbrookes Of Newport Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I purchased a copy of this book at a book signing.
I enjoyed this book. I felt the chemistry between Derek and Brooklyn was genuine. I felt he fell a little too fast after that first kiss. The rest of the story bothered me. Her family should be shot. I'm not happy with the ending either. Was cut short a few chapters early. If you've read all 8 books then it is a no brained you are going to read number 9. Will we learn what happens with her family in the next book? Almost gave 3 stars because of this.
Loved Derek and Brooklyn together. Their banter was hysterical. Friends for the last decade. She has always had feelings for him but never made a move to protect the relationship. And he is just clueless. Lol. But a forced union by her dad to a friends grandson and the bachelor auction pave the way for lightbulbs finally go off for him. Loved the story. Her family is horrible. Hopefully that gets better.
I was loving the book until the very end. It ended so abruptly, it felt like the author just got tired of her own plot and quit. There should have at least been a lead up to that moment if it was the end. Instead, I thought the end was actually the lead up. The story might be continued in the next book but, I won't be reading it. Very disappointed. 1 and only book I plan to read by this author.
This was a fun friends to lovers story. Derek and Brooklyn are both great characters. It was entertaining to see their relationship shift from long time friends to lovers after Brooklyn saves him during a bachelor auction. Recommended read.
Loved the book as I have all 8 in the series. However I Thought book 8 ended abruptly. I thought I was maybe 3/4 way through and then it said the end. I was surprised. I have really been enjoying the whole series so fat. Good reading,

My Thoughts....
I liked this prologue of the 'Bidding On The Billionaire.' There seems to be a bachelor auction that Derek didn't want to go to, however, after a visit from his aunt Marilyn will she decide to attend this function? The story seems to be full of family characters so I would say this would be one to read to see how this billionaire makes out. Would I be interested in reading the rest of this story? YES!

My Thoughts....
This sounds like a good read as this part I read was just the prologue of 'Bidding On The Billionaire.' There seems to be a bachelor auction that Derek didn't want to go to, however, after a visit from his aunt Marilyn will she decide to attend this function? The story seems to be full of family characters so I would say this would be one to read to see how this billionaire makes out. Would I be interested in reading the rest of this story? YES.

I love friends to lovers stories ... and this one - well there were some problems, and ... >.> I can't remember if at around like 75% it got boggy or if that was another book ... [the hazards of reading till 4-5 AM ...]
I don't know why it was SUCH A BIG DEAL that Derek set it up for Brooklyn to bid on him ... I loved how the kiss like flipped a switch in his brain.
I DID NOT like how it was a "requirement" of the bachelor auction that they be ROMANTIC dates - like ... >.> really?
omg. Brooklyn's shit ass family >:( I can get why she was so down on herself. Like self esteem is hard enough - but with that.
Her fucking dad - the dark horse bad actor. I am sick of the "family is so evil" thing ... but Derek's is wonderful [which ... good and bad - like can we get some balance in here?]
But I love LOVED how I liked how much was shown to the relationship, and them figuring things out, etc.
Derek and Brooklyn have been best friends since college., and she has been in love with him since. Now they are both attorneys in the same firm. When Derek's aunt coerce him to be one of the bachelors for the upcoming charity auction, he knows he needs a way out. Asking Brooklyn to bid on him, no matter what the cost, he knows is a big favor. Brooklyn's father is trying to arrange a marriage for her, just so a big business deal can go through. Being the most plain of her three sisters, Brooklyn feels she can't attract a good looking man, so she promises her father she will try with his choice. Bidding on Derek, she knows is a mistake, however, she made a promise. After she wins him, the kiss that follows is what she always dreamt about. All of a sudden Derek can't stop thinking about Brooklyn and he's so confused about these feelings. He needs to tell Brooklyn his feelings and hope she feels the same way. I enjoyed this next chapter in this wonderful series. I recommend it!
Sometimes being in a bind helps you see a light that was only dim to you. Funny thing is when it becomes bright, obstacles obstruct the view of its shining.
This is how I would describe Derek and Brooklyn. Friends for a decade with a possibility to become more if only given the chance. The funny thing is, they have so much in their way. In true Sherbrooke fashion Derek goes all in and bite his tongue in hopes of saving what he now knows what is meant to be his.
This book touches on some subjects that is hard to look past but you have to know in the end it will all work out. I was scared there for a minute as well as ticked off because I wanted a different outcome. I understand the direction and personally in real life would suggest it to me but you always want happiness unclouded by sadness.
Though I loved this book the drama was way too much for me. I wanted to yell at the characters to just say it and get it over with already. Some parts were too wordy for me. The sex scene if you can call it that will have you do your own imagination. It was gone with a blink. The author had done a lead up with taking her virginity but it dropped like a piece of lead.
The ending was also a drop off for me but I guess that is what the author was looking for since this is part of a series.
Just was a disappointment for this reader specially when the author brings you into the book and does a full stop.
This definitely was not my favorite book of the series. When the Derek goes from "Just friends" to feeling something more after a kiss, to saying "I Love you" when he isn't even sure if what he is feeling is love? That's a little too "insta-love" for me. It just wasn't believable. And Brooklyn's father with the whole arranged marriage and disowning thing, was just too much. I like this series, but now that all of the main Sherbrookes stories have been told and we are now getting into the cousins, etc, I feel like the series is starting to lose steam.
Christina Tetreault pens another masterpiece. Derek Sherbrooke has spent the last 10 years of his life with his best friend at his side. Brooklyn Novak had been in love with her best friend for 10 years. One night can change everything. The story telling is masterful and a real page turner. This love story is one for the ages. Will love or family prevail.
This was a great book! Derek Sherbrooke ends up helping his aunt by entering her bachelor auction. He convinces Brooklyn Novak who has been his friend and confidant for 10 years to win the bid. The unexpected happens when Derek finally realizes that he wants more from Brooklyn and really has to work hard to win her over.
Ever scince I read about Derek, I always hope he will find his own happily ever after and I am glad to see he found that with his College best friend Brooklyn Novak.
Another great continuation of the Sherbrooke Series !!
Another great read from Christina Derek and Brooklyn are best friends and turn into unexpected lovers after a kiss after a bachelor auction wow what happens after that is truly unexpected. “You can pick your friends but not your family” there wasn’t a saying better suited for this book. Can’t wait to read more from this series
