***WARNING*** Contains minimal spoilers

Lee has it all. A beautiful home, married to the man of her dreams Mitch, and she's pregnant with her first baby. Her perfect world is about to fall apart. Mitch Townsend's brother Colt is suppose to be headed to China for a community outreach project. But in a twist of fate, Colt falls off the roof and breaks his leg leaving Mitch to go in his place. Mitch was suppose to only be gone for two weeks, but bad luck is on his side and he's taken to prison as a hostage where he will live in agony for years of his life while life goes on around him.

Lee is devastated when it's discovered that Mitch was killed in China in a car with other outreach workers. She tries to hold herself together, facing the reality of having to try to save Mitch's Vineyard without him there. They've been having a lot of problems with it, and with Mitch now out of the picture Lee doesn't know what she will do. She could turn to Colt for support, but Colt takes everything business like it's a big joke leaving her to turn to the one person that Mitch would never want her to, Max Shepard.

Max has been in love with Lee since high school. One night at a party, they shared a night of passion together, their one and only night together. When Max returned home after summer break, Mitch had moved in on Lee. Max has loved Lee for years and there has never been another girl who has been able to hold his heart. Mitch and Max are no longer friends, an affair between his mother and Mitch's father ending in his father's death tore their friendship apart and they have been at war for years. But Max secretly doesn't hate Mitch, deep down he still loves his best friend, so when Mitch exits the picture, Max steps in to help take care of the family of his best friend. As time passes Max and Lee grow closer to one another and bond with Mitch's daughter Stella forging a bond that ends with them married and a child of their own Eli.

But their story is anything short of a happy ending. Little do they know that after five years Mitch is still alive and is released from prison returning to turn their happy family and world upside down. Neither is willing to let her go, both very much love her and the family that has been built. Lines will be drawn, secrets revealed, who will come out with the family in the end?

WOW. This story was an emotional one. At time I really didn't like Lee, wanted to reach through my Kindle and shake some sense into that head of hers. This love triangle was like a merry go round that just went round and round, circle after circle, no one with a clear decision of their future. At times I wanted to get off, shut my Kindle off, but I just had to figure out what was going to happen with this love story. Quite frankly it gave me whiplash trying to figure out where her head was at. But keeping me interested is what makes Addison Moore such a great writer. This is not my first novel by Addison, nor will it be my last. Expect the unexpected in this story because when the bomb goes off in this story, you will not have seen it coming. Even thinking back on it now, there was no way to predict what would happen, well done. Because of the twist and turns and ups and downs of this story in the pursuit of happiness, love, and the happily ever after we all dream of I give this book 5 stars.

Whew this is a long one, very hard to imagine yourself with the decision that Lee is faced with in this story. I am an Addison Moore fan and will have to say she is one of the most descriptive authors I have read in a long time.

Lee loved Mitch, he dies, she waits then marries Max and then Mitch returns. What to do? Lee was pregnant when Mitch made the fateful trip to China and now five years later she has married Max, he has adopted her child and they are a family. When Mitch returns he up heaves the lives of everybody around him. The entire time he was gone all he could think of what what he would do when he got Lee back. He never imagined her happily married to Max and that he won't have.

This was a long struggle with the feelings of Max, Lee and Mitch. At some point it got maddening that Lee would tell Max he was the one and go around and tell Mitch the exact same thing. She did that at least three times in the story, but like I said, it wasn't a decision to be made lightly. It was hard to see Lee's heart constantly torn in two. She loved them both, but couldn't have them both, a choice needed to be made.

Finally Lee is forced to make a choice in the worst way possible. Although it took a while to get to the end, it felt like it was worth it to have things play out the way they did. The story wasn't rushed and you felt the emotion in all of these characters. The ending was fantastic, didn't see it coming at all.

Great book, highly angsty as you really never knew who to route for when all of the secrets were revealed.

In THE SOLITUDE OF PASSION, Lee Townsend finds herself smack dab in the middle of an ugly love triangle between the husband she thought she lost (Mitch) and the husband who picked her up and put her first (Max). It's a story about fighting for what you believe in and love and hoping, in the end, you come out a winner.

The premise of the story drew me in, and I'll admit, so did the cover. The story started out well, Lee thinks her husband Mitch has died in China and over the course of several years, falls in love with their high school friend, Max. A few years into their relationship, Mitch returns from the dead and is determined to get his family back. Lee was stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to figure out where her loyalties lied. And for a while, I could sympathize with her and couldn't image the choice she was being forced to make. But then the story started going down a path I didn't like. Lee was stringing both guys along, making promises to one that she choose him while sleeping with the other. It started to feel icky and my logical self started demanding that Lee make a choice, NOW. And if she couldn't make the choice, then one of the guys needed to realize that he was really second best in her eyes and move on. But none of that ever happened. Lee never really made a choice, fate and circumstances took care of that for her.

That's not say that Mitch and Max don't hold any blame with Lee's inability to make a decision. They both pushed her, believed her when she made promises and forgave her when she gave in and ended up in bed with the other. I think if one of them had truly gotten pissed at her and forced her to really decide, even if it meant walking away from both of them, it would have made a world of difference. And don't get me started on the kids.
I know that not every book is for every person. Others have loved this book, but for me it was one that started off well, but ended with me not liking the characters, especially Lee.

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

DNF @ 52%.

The start and the blurb interested me enough to read this but you know that adage don't judge a book by its cover?

It seems innocent enough from the cover and the blurb but what if fails to mention is that there is also a secondary storyline running along the main story and its not pretty, in fact it is gruesome at times.

I am not going into the storyline chapter and verse but be prepared.

Lee was a very unlikeable character. Vapid, needy, selfish and didn't know her own mind. I didn't get how much she was loved either.

So many times I read how much she loved Mitch. It was cringe worthy and so was her behaviour when he was going away for 2 weeks. She could fathom out how she would survive those two weeks.

Despite this and the fact she was carrying his child, she moved on very quickly when Mitch disappeared. Yeah I get she believed him dead BUT she moved on so fast, married Max his best friend and didn't even cherish Mitch's name. She allowed their daughter to call him Daddy reducing Mitch to a picture in his daughter's eyes.

When Mitch re-entered her life she conveniently forgot how quickly she had married Max and how much she proclaimed "she loved him" Lets not forget she also bed hopped with Mitch's brother Colton just before she married Max and even thought Max's child might be his (still with me?)

It was conveniently forgotten that she was still married to Mitch and the legalities that would involve.

I decided to look at the other reviews to get a feel how this ended ( she ended up with Max) but that wasn't her choice. Her choice was Mitch but life decided otherwise.

By 52% I'd had enough and closed the book.

Despite the title this is not really a second chance romance. It is more about being second best.

I seriously have a love-hate relationship with this book! On one hand, the writing is beautiful. I could really feel what each character was going through and the multiple POVs was a bonus. On the other end, I HATE cheating. Abhor it. Despise it. BUT that's exactly what kind of a person Lee is. Mixing and Matching them. Sometimes I was just shocked at how easily she would cheat on Max, and then on Mitch, and then on Max again. However, I did feel sympathy for her since it's nearly impossible to choose between the two men and she seemed to really love both of them. The only reason I'm giving this 5 stars is because the author made this story believable and her writing was beautiful. So let me clarify: I LOVE the author and her ability to make me feel so emotionally invested in these characters but I STRONGLY DISLIKE Lee. Either way, if you're a fan of intense love-triangles this is probably your cup of tea!

I am so late to the party on this book. It's been out for years, but I finally got around to reading it thanks to it being a Pick For Me from one of my book buddies. I absolutely loved this book and absolutely hated it at the same time. The story itself was beyond amazing. Impossible decisions - a no-win situation, choices no one should have to make. What I hated beyond words was our heroine. She was so selfish and in my opinion she didn't deserve either of these men loving her. Her back and forth and refusal to make a decision held everyone's lives hostage. She had two amazing men fighting for their place in her life, and she never had the guts to make the hard choice, until it was made for her.

If you love angst, you will absolutely adore this...but be prepared to hate Lee.

I reviewed this book for Book Nerds Anonymous at:

http://avasmith.org/2013/08/18/blog-t...

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

This Book!!!! Holy SHEESH!! I don’t even know where to start. This beautifully written book will lift you up, spin you around, pepper your face with kisses, throw you on the ground, kick you, HARD! Then make sweet love to you with no cuddling afterwards! Well maybe a little cuddling, but GAWD!!! You will feel used and abused in the best way possible. And after all of that I still love this book enough to keep it around, because in the end it didn’t fail me. It closed my heart back up with no scars, and proved to me that love is most definitely NOT one dimensional.

This book is told in 3 alternating POV’s which might confuse some, but I felt it extremely necessary to be in the head of each character at some point. The relevance of this is crucial to the book in the sense that where you might normally get frustrated, now you will see clarity towards understanding something otherwise forsaken. I loved knowing each character, and this made the book flow together seamlessly.

I seriously have issues writing this review because by the end of the book I was screwed!! I probably cried for a good 20 minutes and then again 20 minutes later!! No joke, I was thoroughly shaken and moved. Even though parts of this book ripped my heart out I still LOVED it wholeheartedly! Also, there are soooo many laugh out loud funny moments which I desperately needed! This book is complex, smart and witty!

Lee Townsend is a beautiful woman married to the man of her dreams, Mitch. They seem to be perfectly happy with a vineyard and a baby on the way. Mitch has to travel to China because his brother Colt injures himself, and he is forced to step up in his place. Besides managing a vineyard Mitch and his brother have a side business dealing with construction, and Mitch is the main component in this business considering Colt is a slacker!

Max Shepherd grew up with both Lee and Mitch and their history runs pretty deep. Max and Mitch are best described as “frenemies” their past includes feuding parents, which are the reason for the bitterness. Also, Lee had an unforgettable sexual encounter with Max at a party in High School, and can’t seem to forget the feel of him. Does this smell like a sticky triangle brewing? Well you would be right, but it is so much more than that I promise you! This story has so many twists and turns in it that you might get whiplash, no joke! I want to gush and give so many details but I just can’t without spoiling the plot!

Lee pissed me off more than once, I will tell you that much! I found myself so frustrated with her at times that I wanted her to be real, just so I could call her and talk some sense into her!!! I actually fell in love with both Mitch and Max at different points in the story. And right when I thought my love for Mitch was solid, Max would come in and sweep me away. So as frustrated as I might have been with Lee, I could understand her heartache, and the need for the tug and pull of emotions set forth. And the sexy times in this book do not disappoint! Addison Moore has a way with words that is truly breathtaking! I found myself enraptured in the intimate moments Lee had with Max, those were my favorite, and I was totally pulling for those two all along. I really wanted Lee to be with Max, I looked forward to their encounters and banter. I’m thinking that most people who read this book will oppose my choice of Max for the simple reason of logic, but I don’t believe in logic when it comes to the heart. Max is my favorite for sure, and I can’t wait to talk with someone about this book just for the pure reason of comparison!

The reason I fell in love with Addison Moore in the first place was because of her writing, period. It is remarkable, she takes you on a journey that goes beyond anything I expect in a book. And I know that sounds gushy but I don’t care! Let me tell you this, there is a letter from Mitch in this book that will make you cry your guts out, while simultaneously bringing you peace and comfort. I had complete closure when I was done reading, and the epilogue was beautiful. If you want to read one hell of a story, read this book!! Here are some quotes that had me swooning and laughing.

“Lee and I set the sheets on fire last night. It felt so damn good, my dick feels like writing her a thank you note.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” “Who you gonna call? Vagina busters?”

“If there was one moment in my life I could replay over and over, it would be this one, but I won’t have to. I’ll be living it.”

“I’m guessing eternity won’t start feeling like heaven until you arrive”

Hmmm... I give this book 2 1/2 starts
I was expecting something different with this book. Really different. In the end...
This book was just not my cup of tea..
I was really into it for about 45%. I felt bad for Lee, Mitch, & Max. But I knew already without question who I would pick!! Right from the start Mitch had me...Max...just didn't do it for me.
When I got 50% in....I was pretty much done with the book. I could not stand Lee. Her back & forth was just uncalled for. The way she handled things. I found her to be extremely selfish and self absorbed & very disrespectful!! Her wishy-washy ness was just to much for me. She's a horrible and terrible person in my book.
Mitch went through hell.... & everyone treated him like shit. Even his own mother...which I could not stand either!!
I truly felt bad for Mitch.
Plus... I wish the author would have went more into details with Mitch & his feeling about being a prisoner for 5 years. I felt like she glossed over so much.
Max... I think it was just lust between Lee & him. Yes... They loved each other.. But to me...it was all about the sex. Every time Lee slept with him... I was just disgusted with her. Mitch didn't ask to be a prisoner. & I felt like Lee didn't give a shit. Mitch was very much present in her marriage to Max through the whole 5 yrs. It was always the "what if". I felt like Lee had every opportunity to make things right... But all she managed to do was string two guys along.
Overall I just wish this story ended differently. Way differently.
Would I recommend this book to people... Probably not.
Would I read another of this author books... Yes..

I chuckled, bawled, cringed, and even gave an imaginary high five or two. What I did not do, however, was put this book down until I have read every last word. Addison used her gift of description and dialog to create a beautiful story of love and devotion when everything falls apart and comes together in a way you would never expect. I am trying not to have any spoilers, but it is challenging because all of the things I loved would give you to many hints. I will say that Addison used her gift of description and dialog to create a unique and beautiful story of love and devotion. Solitude of Passion is an unputdownable read filled with honest emotions, real characters, and a love triangle like none I have read before.

If you are a YA fan of Addison's, it is important to note that this is an adult read with adult themes, some violence, and sexual content.

description

I am just so disappointed.

DNF at around 50%.

Warning - Spoiler's ahead.

I absolutely loved Someone to Love and was all about Moore when she started her Celestra series. I eventually gave up on Celestra because Skyla couldn't choose between the two guys she was with and just kept going back and forth between them and while they didn't like it, they just let her. Sound familiar?

The beginning had me hooked but the minute Mitch came back and Lee split her affections between both men, I couldn't do it.

One thing I cannot get past in a book is when I grow to dislike the heroine and I did not like Lee one bit. I understand she was in an extremely unique, tough position. She never stopped loving Mitch and fell for Max when she thought Mitch was gone. Then when Mitch came back she was torn.

What I could not understand is how Max just let her steamroll over him. I wanted to smack Lee. She bed hops and the world just falls away and she forgets all about the fact that she is in fact cheating.

While I didn't finish the book, I did read some other reviews to see what happened in the story line and even knowing she ended up with the guy I liked better (Max) I couldn't force myself to continue reading it. I wasn't thrilled to learn that she wanted to be with Mitch, he was taken away from her, so she picked Max. Um no, she didn't pick him she ended up with him.

I saw that others parallelled this to Taking Chances by Molly McAdams (a book I will note that I LOVED). In my opinion, there's no comparison. Maybe it's because Lee kept going back and forth or just the way the story developed but in Taking Chances, I felt for Harper. In this one, I could've done without Lee. I didn't understand why everyone loved her so much and was willing to take her crap in order to be with her.

Anyhoo, definitely not a winner for me. To each their own I guess. After Celestra started to let me down 5 books in, Moore redeemed herself with Someone to Love. Then I read this and I'm back to disappointed again. Maybe I'll see if her new one - 3AM Kisses will give me another chance to love her again :)

This book was absolutely amazing. It's exactly the story that is described. Lee and Mitch marry, Mitch "dies", Lee remarries his enemy Max, Mitch comes back from the dead. And Lee is forced to choose between her husbands. The outpouring of emotion that is prevalent throughout this book is written so well and so smoothly that you can almost put yourself in Lee's shoes and feel what she's feeling as she travels on this journey. You can also see the world through Max's and Mitch's eyes as well due to the smooth POV transition from Lee to Mitch to Max. There is no duplication of scenes either, so every POV chapter is on something new. This is a must-read. I will be recommending this book over and over and over again to people. It is a truly touching story of heartbreak, soul-searching, reuniting and love. The base story did remind me a little bit of Rachel and Ethan's story in The Darkest Hour, but there was a LOT more to this one because of Max's marriage to Lee. There were quite a few times that I wanted to shake Lee senseless. Granted, I can't even imagine how hard this situation would be for any person with red blood running through their veins. To me, it felt like she was stringing them both along. It's one thing to say, "I just don't know yet", but it's quite something else to tell each both definitively that he is the one she chose. The introduction of the secondary characters is fantastic and isn't confusing, and the set up of the story is perfect. The author clearly delineates how much time has gone by as she is setting up the back story for the history behind Lee, Mitch, and Max. This book is beautifully constructed and the setting of the story on the beach and in the vineyards gives it a very beautiful and romantic feel. I absolutely loved it.

I'm sort of speechless. This book was so emotional. Addison Moore does a great job injecting those epic moments that define a book. The story was gripping and I had a hard time putting it down.

This story was a love triangle like no other. Kudos to Addison for creating such a great story that doesn't give anything away until the very last minute. I was dying to know what happened but managed not to skip ahead to the end.

This being her first Adult novel, I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't know what else to say about this book without giving things away. It was a sexy read and wasn't afraid to push boundaries. Overall, this book deserves five glittery stars for being more than I ever expected.

Addison Moore, as usual I was completely enthralled and totally submerged in this book! The past couple of days I have done nothing but the bare minimum when it came to sleep, housework, and my job because I just could not stand the thought of stepping away from this book until I knew what happened in the end. So much Love, so much Heartache and pain but it always comes back to the love! I absolutely loved this book!

This is probably the most gut-wrenching and emotional love triangle I have ever encountered. My stomach was in knots through this entire book and I needed serious anxiety medication half way through. There was so much tension between Max, Lee and Mitch and the circumstances they were involved in made it that much more painful.

Mitch, Max and Lee grew up in the same town and have known each other all their lives. Max and Mitch were once best friends but scandal rocked their families and tore them apart. Mitch and Lee started dating as seniors in high school and four years later they were married with a child on the way. When Mitch leaves for a 2 week trip to China and never returns, Lee is devastated and Max is there to comfort her. Five years after his disappearance, Mitch returns and everyone’s lives are changed. Max and Mitch have a fight on their hands and Lee has a very important decision to make.

“The three of us had emerged from Mitch’s captivity damaged beyond recognition, and now nothing will ever be the same.”

I liked Lee and felt that she was a genuinely sweet woman who deeply loved her husband, both of them in fact. She was fully committed and deeply in love with Mitch. When he disappeared, she was truly heartbroken. She had always cared about Max, even though he was on the outs with Mitch, and he was there for her when Mitch was gone. She was able to lean on Max in her most vulnerable moments and couldn’t help falling in love with him. Max made her feel alive again and she couldn’t help falling for him. When Mitch returned, she was so torn up on the inside because he was always a part of her and she had been haunted by him all those years. My heart went out to Lee because she had an impossible decision to make. Just when she was finally moving forward, Mitch’s return sent her life into a downward spiral again. I could definitely sense her distress and confusion. I can’t imagine how I would feel in her situation.

“It’s hard to know what’s up and what’s down, what’s real and what isn’t when you’re still trying to pick the pieces of your heart off the ground.”

Mitch and Max were very competitive and when it came to Lee they pulled out all the stops and didn’t hold back. It was obvious they both loved Lee deeply and wanted nothing more than to be with her forever. While Mitch was her first love, Max had always had feelings for Lee and he managed to find a place in her hear too. While both guys loved Lee and would do anything for her, they were a little immature at times and didn’t always make decisions that were in the best interest of Lee but would give them a one up on each other. Max used their current relationship and sex to get to Mitch and Mitch used memories and the guilt trip to confuse Lee. Not cool guys. I felt bad for Mitch because he came home after 5 years of captivity to find his life in complete shambles and it seemed like Max had taken everything from him. I also sympathized with Max because his life was going really well and Mitch’s return literally sent it down a sinkhole.

It’s the thought of feeling like a third wheel on some date my wife is on with her dead ex-husband. It’s a nightmare within a nightmare, and there doesn’t seem to be a way out.”

My heart broke for all 3 of them because they were each in an impossible situation and no matter what happened, somebody's heart was going to be broken. Lee probably had it worse than any because ultimately she had a choice to make and either way she would lose someone she truly loved and break their heart. I know she had an impossible decision to make but I can't help being frustrated by the way I felt like she led each of them on and gave both men hope that she would pick them. She was extremely weak for both men and allowed herself to be intimate with each of them, making her decision that much harder and gave them each that much more hope. What made the situation so much harder was the children involved because Lee had a child with each of them and they would all be a part of each other’s lives forever. While the love triangle with Max, Mitch and Lee was the primary plot point in this book, there was so much more happening and I loved that. Max had major issues with his brother and Mitch had his Demons left over from China that he was still struggling to cope with. It also delved into Max and Mitch’s relationship and we learned the truth to their falling out. It definitely had a little twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting and I was very surprised by the turn of events.

“I’m not ready to surrender all of my heart to Mitch if it means cutting Max out with a hatchet.”

I still haven’t decided if I’m happy with the ending and who Lee ended up with. I understand why Addison did it that way and it had satisfying closure in the end. I think I was just very surprised by it and it left me really questioning how I felt about it. Overall, I loved this book even though it gave me severe anxiety. It was so well written that I was right there feeling with the characters and it had such a unique and intricate plot. I loved the 3 way POV with Lee, Mitch and Max and felt like it was a perfect way to get to know the most important characters and see all sides of the story. This was the most real love triangle that I have ever read and while it was extremely convoluted, it was a fantastic story about love, hardship and fate.

I really have no idea how to even begin this review or how to rate it! My emotions were all over the place while reading about Lee, Mitch, and Max. The story shifts between the view points of each of these characters so you know what's happening to them and how they are each feeling about the situation they are in. Lee is first married to Mitch, her high school sweetheart, but she still harbors feelings for Max from high school. It's very clear from the beginning that both Mitch and Max are in love with Lee and have been since they were kids and the two were best friends, but something happened during high school to tear them apart. Max and Lee have no idea why Mitch suddenly stopped being friends with Max, keeping both himself and Lee away from Max. Mitch would never talk to Lee about it and he certainly wouldn't tell Max. And then one fateful trip to China tears Mitch and Lee apart, leaving a pregnant Lee and everyone else to believe that Mitch is dead. Max comes to her rescue, keeping Mitch's vineyard afloat and helping Lee through one of her greatest heartbreaks and two years after Mitch's death Max and Lee marry. However, Mitch isn't dead. In fact, he's been held hostage for five years and in a lucky chance he's free to go home, hoping to be with his wife and child once again. He isn't expecting her to have fallen in love with and married his worst enemy.

My feelings for these three characters are all over the place. One minute I liked them, even adored them--the next minute I wanting to pull my hair out for their foolish behavior. After Mitch's return, Lee can't keep her hands off him. But she can't keep her hands off of Max either. And Mitch and Max have no regards for the others feelings so they flaunt their indiscretions in each others faces while Lee is just bouncing back and forth between the two incredibly confused because she feels like she has two husbands. The biggest problem I had with Lee isn't the fact that she felt that way, but the fact that she so willingly slept with two different men, not caring about hurting them and often telling them both that she chooses them and that she'll tell the other soon but she never actually chooses. The biggest part of this book is her going back and forth between the two in that manner and it really pissed me off. However, I would get equally pissed at Mitch and Max. I could understand more of Max's behavior than Mitch's because Max was in fact Lee's husband at the present time and Mitch continuously called Lee his wife even though they all thought he was dead for five years. He couldn't understand that Lee was married to Max. For some reason it just wouldn't click in his head how she couldn't leave Max as soon as he returned. He behaved childishly, irresponsibly and selfishly in my opinion. It wasn't until the very end of the book that something terrible happens and he redeems himself.

I was angry throughout 75% of this book, but then the ending completely unraveled me and broke my heart for everyone. I knew something bad was going to end up happening because you get that feeling throughout the entire book: even though something bad did happen at the beginning, it just felt like something worse was going to happen at the end, even though you hoped it didn't. The ending is beautiful, yet heartbreaking, but even so I understood that something like that was going to have to happen in order for them all to have some sort of peace even though it was completely horrible.

Like I said, I'm kind of on the fence with this one. Some parts of the story I would consider a 3 yet other parts I would definitely place as a 4. I suppose I will have to do something I've never done before: rate a book in between.

The Solitude of Passion is absolutely amazing. This definitely bored me at first, but I'm glad I kept reading on because it was amazing. This is told in three different perspectives which I think is great considering the whole marriage aspect of this story. Each character was unique in their own way. I loved this. Addison Moore is a fantastic writer.

Lee is a sweet woman. She is kind, loving, giving and puts her soul into anything and anyone she loves. Problem is she loves two men. One she secretly loved since her childhood days, the other she married and loved dearly the same. Lee is put in such a crazy situation with two men that she loves and she surprisingly handles herself well. She doesn't lose herself in both men which I appreciated. What I didn't care too much for was her back and forth and her thinking she was meant to be with Mitch instead of Max. It's clear that she would have been with Max if Mitch didn't make a quick move on her. Lee is phenomenal -- a business woman, a loving wife and a great mother to amazing kids.

Mitch is Lee's first husband. They've been in love since their high school days and he did anything to keep her including remove his bestfriend Max from his life. Mitch goes away on a business trip to China and finds himself in an unfortunate situation. Now everyone believes he is dead. He's been away for five years and he returns thinking life would be back to normal but he is mistaken -- his wife remarried, but they are also still married. Mitch seemed like a great guy and husband, but as the story progressed I just couldn't care for him much. From the start of their relationship I feel like he was manipulating Lee to be with him. Even when he returned he tried so hard to wiggle back in her life with no regard to her husband. I get that all he ever wanted was to return to his wife and daughter, but he handled himself like a brat. I will say, however, when things got clear to him -- he finally realized that Lee had moved on and needed to be happy with or without him. I hated how the story ended for him. Totally was not expected.

Max is the guy that has always loved Lee and will continue to love her. He didn't make a move because he knew Mitch was her husband. He was the one that saw her first and had her taken from him. When Mitch is considered dead he does the douchebag move of comforting Lee and getting involved with her, but he was genuine in his love for her. So happy he and Lee got married, but Mitch returning caused some major issues for him and I could understand. He loved her more than life. Possibly even more than Mitch did. Max had never strayed from loving and wanting her but he was always respectful of it -- wish I could say the same for Mitch. Out of both guys I loved Max more because of how genuine and real he was. He even still cared for Mitch despite what Mitch did to him.

Both men were great for Lee and had apart of her heart, but I feel like Max was just the better choice for her. This was definitely an intense romance with an unlikely ending. I loved everything about this story. It started off boring for me, but as I continued to read on I couldn't stop. This is phenomenal. If you're into a complex love triangle with marriage mixed in this is absolutely great to pick up!

Addison is an author who I have kept up with during my TWK (time with Kindle) I have always enjoyed her books so I knew this was going to be something that would attract my attention and I am so glad I signed up for the blog tour.

Addison has a great way with words, her books are always an easy thing to pick up and read and the world she creates is always clear, precise and enjoyable - This book is no exception.

Yes, this story does have a love triangle but not like we have seen before and I loved it - The emotion, the passion, the secrets and the lies all leave you wanting and needing more and thankfully more is what you get. Lee has to choose between the two great loves in her life - who she also happens to be married to (oh my) - the situation and range of emotions the characters feel effect you as a reader and that is always the sign of a good writer.

"There’s a sweetness to Max. If I let him, I’m sure he’d solve every problem on the planet for me, including my spousal deficiency. But he can’t bring back Mitch. He can’t be Mitch. Some problems are just too big."

What happens when the man you loved, the father of your child walks back into you life after 5 years - 5 years of thinking he is dead. What happens when you have already moved on with the one person your husband could not stand? This book will make you want to scream, yell, cry and turn it off completely at points - But somehow you keep reading because you have to know what is going to happen next.

All I can say before reading this book is to have a nick supply of chocolate at the ready and be prepared for a roller coaster ride like no other - I am serious one minute everything is going well then BAM you are hit with something so unexpected that you will need a moment to adjust.

"The three of us had emerged from Mitch’s captivity damaged beyond recognition, and now nothing will ever be the same"

This is Addison's first attempt at New Adult and I think it is brilliant and defiantly something I would recommend to friends as something they need to add their TBR lists.

4/5 stars.

I absolutely love Addison Moore's books. It is actually kind of funny, since I am most definitely not a religious person, and her books so far, have been based on religion.
To be honest, books which mention God and his plans, generally bore me pretty quick.
Although, Addison does walk the line... ;-) you do hear about sex before marriage, and affairs and divorce happen... She keeps it quite interesting, that is for sure!

I am Glad that I did read her other books, prior to this one. This one talks about leaving a lot of life's decisions up to God. It was much more religious based than the other books by Addison's I have read. If I would have read this book first, I would have been reluctant to read her other book series. I would have missed out on AMAZING stories and characters.
(I have to say, reading her books actually make me want to believe.) ;-)

Every single book I have read of hers, ( which is every single book she has published :-)) I have whole heartily loved. I get into her stories so much, if is really hard for me to put her books down, once I start reading.

This book, was so heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time. (I may have been extremely invested into the characters, because Mitch and Max remind me so much of my beloved Logan and Gage, and Lee reminds me of Skyla.) I literally went to bed last night with big red puffy eyes. (Thankfully, I work from home :-))

I loved how we got to see the story from all three of the main characters perspective. This was a great story, and I would highly recommend it! :-)

Thank you for sharing this beautifully heartbreaking novel with us Addison Moore!!

Once upon a time as most of these books go there was one girl and two boys , the two boys were the best of friends and they both equally loved the girl more than anything in the world. The downside though of course, unless you believe in sister wives is the simple fact that the girl now a woman had to choose whom she would marry. One of the boys now Men would get her hand in marriage, the other would have to stand on the sidelines and settle for whatever came his way. In The Solitude of Passion - that girl was called Lee and the two boys were called Mitch and Max. Fast forward to adult age and the one who won Lee's hand in marriage was Mitch. Pregnant with Mitch's baby, Lee wishes Mitch would stay home but when business calls - Mitch takes off to China. Lee waits but tragedy strikes and Mitch doesn't return home. Standing on the sidelines is Max and soon Max takes Mitch's position with Lee and so a few more years pass and Max is married to Lee and another year passes and Max and Lee have a son named Eli.
Then Five years pass and out of the blue, Mitch arrives back - he isn't dead . What will happen now when Lee's past and her present collide ? Who will she choose and run too - the husband she thought was dead or the father of her son and her current husband ?
When faced with a life-changing decision - what will Lee choose ?
The Solitude of Passion was an intense read and reminded me of the movie Pearl Harbour starring Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett as in a way it was a similiar storyline.
A great read for those who enjoy lost-love stories and edgy content.

Wow. Amazing writing and I love when the author can't imagine telling such a love story without God and his purpose. God IS love and this book proves it. I could say that there are some places in this story we could have just done without...Lee bugged me a lot at times. But when you seriously try and imagine being in her shoes, there is no way it would have been easy. So those parts, I just had to go with it because the writing was just so beautiful. I will read anything this author puts out....I am in awe of her writing and her ability to be so deep and sarcastic at the same time. I like a lot of authors but only a handful that I say to myself "wow, I wish I could sit down and have coffee with her." Very cool read from a very cool lady that shares my faith in the One that loved first.

There's a saying: "You can never go back home" and that's what I feel with this book.
First off I was really disappointed in Lee, I understand that she was in a terrible position but she could never make a decision and stick with it. Whoever she was with at that time was who she picked until she was with the other one. it was truly unfair to Max and Mitch.
What I didn't like about the ending was that Lee didn't EVER make a true decision, it was made for her and it felt like the last man standing won by default. I believe the person that she had truly loved and belonged with all along was who she ended up with but again, I didn't like the way it happened. This was the first book I have read by this author and yes I would read more. Would I recommend this book, yes. The reason I gave it 3-stars was because of the back and forth and the ending.

Crap...I am so torn. I love it and I hate it. It was a good book but made me all twisted. I guess maybe because it wasn't what I wanted to happen although I see the reasonings behind it all but still it breaks my freaking heart. Talk about a love triangle it was so Messed up. It just kept ripping my heart out time and time again and I wanted so bad to slap lee more than once. I wanted to shake her and tell her to open her eyes bit maybe hers were open more than mine because all I could see was Mitch even now he's all I see. I didn't fall in love with max no matter their story it was always Mitch for me.

Be prepared for a roller coaster ride, you will be up down and turned inside out. Lest laying bare with all of your emotions.

Omg! What can I say about this book? The list would be shorter to list all the things wrong with this book which is NOTHING! This book has it all in there love, romance, loss, sadness, happiness, blessings, miracles and much much more! I fell in love with Mitch, max, lee and believe it or not Colton too. This book shows what the power of faith and love can do and makes you count your blessings everyday. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone no matter what genre they prefer because it will call to them deep down inside and make them grateful they read it. Way to go Addison on another wonderful, great, awesome, powerfully written book. I'm so glad you share your wonderful talent with us and thanks for having us angels.

Wow...

This is an amazing book. It's about a woman who looses her husband on a business trip to China. She finds healing with an old high school fling who was her husband's enemy. They marry and after 5 years of her first husband's death he suddenly returns. He wants his wife and life back. But she loves both men and can't choose. The emotional roller coaster throughout the whole book is unspeakable. The way this book ends in incredible. Have tissues ready. Truly amazing author.
