Andrew "Andi" Watson (born 1969) is a British cartoonist and illustrator best known for the graphic novels Breakfast After Noon, Slow News Day and his series Love Fights, published by Oni Press and Slave Labor Graphics.
Watson has also worked for more mainstream American comic publishers with some work at DC Comics, a twelve-issue limited series at Marvel Comics, with the majority at Dark Horse Comics, moving recently to Image Comics.
Great comic. Really liked the oblique challenge to definition of humanity. Sibling interactions really resonated. The drama was whimsically bombastic with real feels.
Continuing my streak of simply-okay graphic novels. It wasn’t bad, not at all, and some of this novel’s characters were quirky and likable, but I continue to not be blown away.
This one off graphic novel tells the story of a robot artist trying to discover if you really need a soul to create art. It could be described as many things, YA, science fiction or a story about art and this gives the book a really wide appeal.
This is a short little book of stories focusing on the same set of characters, the plots are good and the questions it raises. Also the characters are well portrayed and equally well drawn.
Basically its an enjoyable quick read which isn't going to change the world, but it has nice characters, plot and illustration.
I read this book in one day. It is about a million times better than the Love Fights series by the same creator.
In this one, an almost human android is a painter who works in her family's security business on the side. It is far-fetched, but entertaining. It's sort of like eating cake for breakfast--yummy in the moment, but not substantial enough to get you through to the morning break.
wonderful andi watson (of course). takes place in the future,in the background of one panel a character is wearing a san jose sharks jacket. did they win a stanley cup by then?
