I love the idea of a vampire orphanage as established in this story. I also like that we are moving away from vampires not being able to be out in the daylight. Makes family life and blending in so much easier. Marley and Tom can't have children so they start adopting. This family really pulls together and, while kids will be kids, they are fiercely protective of each other. I am anxious for the next installment in this family's life. I strongly recommend this book.
What can I say about Vampire Orphanage no amount of words can express how much I truly love this book and how sad I was for it to end . P.Mattern is one of the most brilliant author I have come across in a long time . I have read a few of her books and haven't found one I didn't love. I would recommend her to everyone
I was intrigued by the title and am in love with the characters. I can't wait to find out what happens now that Lark knows Grace's secret. Mrs. DeWitt seems to have a secret of her own. I look forward to more of Vampire Orphanage.
Vampire Orphanage is the most amazing book I've read. A Damphir and human husband takes in a house full of Vampire to keep safe. While a rouge tries to take one of the daughters all hell breakers loose Amazing just amazing now onto book two yay
Interesting story. I like how the story lets us know that vampire children are interested in us and how they want to be normal. Can't wait for Part 2. See where it all ends. Good job P. Mattern.
That seems to be the main message of Patricia Mattern’s Vampire Orphanage. While traditional vampire lore feeds on our fear of strangers, Mattern brings us into the day to day life of a family who are grateful to be together. More time is spent cooking and eating (human food) than fighting or craving blood. It’s actually a gentle and loving story, full of tears of joy and protective parents and siblings. With kids who go to school and make friends and form relationships. It’s “Little House on the Prairie” with vampires.
Marley, a dhamphir (half vampire) and her human husband, Tom, adopt abandoned vampire children. There is very little drama or violence in the story and what there is the family resolves quickly for the most part. The family is grateful to have found each other, and petty infighting just isn’t an issue.
It feels like the first book in a series as quite a few questions are unresolved at the end. It’s an easy and happy read. Perfect for paranormal lovers who shy away from horror.
Vampire Orphanage by P. Mattern is another of her great paranormal reads. She makes a normal family with a human husband and a damphir wife. They adopt a bakers dozen of vampire children who have no place to go or no one to take them. They try very hard to make their home as normal as possible. And they do succeed with lots of love. This book shows that you can make a family with all different kinds just with the power of love. There is a lot of action happening every day and night. At some points you are crying or scared and the next page you are laughing. Definitely a page turner and I can’t wait for the next one. I’m sure it will be as awesome as this one. I really loved this story.

I felt like I was right there in the midst. Marley and Tom took on 13 Vampire Orphans and not only did it work, they thrived. No spoilers. You have to read this for yourself. I read it in one sitting. Will definitely recommend to family friends and fellow readers. Love this author!!
Once again, Fang Mama draws you into the lives of her vampire family and the struggles they face to blend in and stay together. Book 2 should be out soon, and I’m waiting to find out what happens next!!
This book was a lot of fun. I love the family that was created. The matriarch was a sexy, strong woman. It was fun watching all the various relationships develop.
