Full Heart Ranch #4

See Me, Cover Me

Rate this book
Book 4 of the "Full Heart Ranch" series -- Can be read as a stand-alone book, but reading books 1-3 will help with the back-story. No cliff-hanger. (The final book in the series will be released in March, 2017.)

Tanner James barely remembers who he was before joining the FBI a dozen years ago, and he's okay with that. Life-threatening assignments tend to change a person, and he's learned to become whoever he needs to be in order to handle danger and succeed in the tasks he's given. Since there's no one to miss the old Tanner, it's all working out--until his boss decides he needs to take some time off.

One look into the cold dark eyes of the new volunteer at the veterans retreat center has Izzy Harding plotting ways to lighten the man's burdens, whatever they might be. Turns out that's not a job for the faint-hearted. Tanner wants to keep to himself, just doing his thing and staying safe behind the walls he's built up to ward off people like her. Not gonna happen.....Izzy's determined to be his friend, and she's not easily put off. He needs to relax and enjoy life a little, and God-willing she's going to help him do it.

There are so many reasons why he should resist her efforts, but the girl is getting past his defenses. She says God is in control, but why would He care? Tanner knows he needs to pull back before she gets hurt. He has another job coming up and he doesn't need the distraction. But darkness craves light, and he craves Izzy.

He can't stay. She has to let him leave. Only God knows how it will end.

Very encouraging read

Tanner a FBI agent and hacker lives a life of all work and no play. He sometimes worked undercover too and was brilliant at his job. On a forced vacation which he was ordered to take away from work, he finds himself in a world of horses. The ranch opened his heart to true love and God’s love which he never knew he desperately needed until his undercover job brought it him that realisation.

The story line was very relatable to me for someone working in the I.T. field. It’s so easy to get lost in the world of computers and you lose that social life, get all science about God and get confused. I found the storyline quite realistic and a lot better in research than most novels.

Initially it came across as stereotypical but with the recent happenings around us, it’s not a far-fetched reality.
I also liked that the author was careful not to belittle other religions although this novel is a Christian story. I would have preferred neater grammar was used but overall, this novel was a 4.5 and a very captivating one.

I didn't like Izzy in the previous book. She was a party girl, boy crazy and thought casual sex was okay. Well, Izzy has done a complete turn around. She now knows the Lord and regrets her wild ways. I really liked her in this book. She meets Tanner not intending to go after him as a potential boyfriend but as a friend. She wants to bring him out of his shell. Tanner works for the FBI and is completely immersed in his highly sensitive job. They do become friends and the friendship turns into something else. There was obstacles to their love being Tanner's job with the FBI. I loved how their love was able to survive months of being away from each other. Unlike the other books there was not any suspense happening on the ranch. All the suspense took place with Tanner on his undercover job. Unlike the other books in this series the heroine was never in any danger.

A sweet love story and genuine detail. Delightfully spiritual and manly tension, would have read it at one sitting if possible.

Save me

So I'll begin this with the caveat that I generally avoid Christian romance, but somehow I missed that when I bought and started reading this book. It quickly became obvious, and I debated stopping reading but decided to give it a chance.
The first 25% moved slowly and there was no chemistry between the main characters, but at least it wasn't preachy. Then the attraction ignites which makes that part of the book more palatable but the preachy conversion ramped up, too. A bunch of boring things happen that are completely inaccurate and or ridiculous, including the ashamed confession of the heroine that she had a normal college experience. Oh, and that she's more freaked out by a religious extremist group than drug dealers (WTF?). I won't even get started about real estate purchases. Anyway ...
Finally the action starts, but it's only plus is that we burn through 8 months quickly. Finally it dribbles to an ending that was only not predictable in that I expected him to propose as soon as he got back.
So ... basically okay but slow moving romance fully destroyed by hypocritical preaching.

Love these Ranch stories

Another wonderful book about the Ranch. Izzy finally finds love with a new person to the ranch. Tanner is FBI and comes to the ranch in a forced vacation. He know Ryan and Tucker through his job. He is not friendly to Izzy at first but she works her magic to break through his shell. They are so wonderful together but then reality takes over. He has to leave for his job. The ups and downs during this time is challenging for both of them. The people on the ranch help her through all of it. Love everyone there and the ranch itself.Love these stories.

Book 4 in this Christian romantic suspense series, and another that I enjoyed. At the beginning I was actually fairly annoyed with the character of Izzy and how she pestered Tanner. I found it unrealistic how readily he went from being rude and standoffish to being friends and caring for her. But, otherwise, I found the story really gripping, especially when Tanner had to be on assignment. I felt as nerve-whracked as if it were my own family member. Again, this author has a smooth writing style and depth to her characters that I really enjoy.

Tanner finally broke the code on the computer, the good guys won again.
The hours spent locating the main server of a black market weapon dealer.
Thirteen hour days, been the norm, boss wants him to take time off, he needs the best for a job that is coming.
Izzy loved working with the vets, at the retreat. Meeting Tanner, the coldness, couldn’t help but say they were friendly around there. He was now a challenge to her, he said for her to give it up. Delightful story, as was the series, well worth reading.

The story of Tanner And Izzy

Each book is better than the last. Barbara Gee is an exceptional writer. The story of Tanner And Izzy was enthralling from the 1st chapter to the last word. What Tanner went thru when he was undercover, my mind out me there. Izzy set thru so much not knowing where Tanner was, if he was okay. The thing that carried both thru was the great love that had grown over a short period of time but more importantly was Izzy's strong Christian faith. A wonderful Christian love story.

Wonderful story

I really enjoyed this book. The relationship between Tucker and Izzy developed slowly at first, then when they realized the attraction their commitment was strong. I liked the care the author took in establishing that bond and how they were able to endure the separation. I appreciated the moral code they lived by and Izzy's trust in God. The story kept me interested and intrigued and I celebrated their happy ever after.

Loved this story!

This was a great story of perseverance in following the nudge of the Holy Spirit and how God’s Plan is greater than what is seen on the surface! It also provides a tiny glimpse of what undercover agents and their families have to deal with. Makes me thankful for what I have and thankful for those who protect my freedoms!!!

I really was surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel. It started off too light and superficial for me, but easily a couple of chapters in it was tugging at my heart (don't stop reading). I loved the real emotions and dating struggles of Izzy and Tanner. If I could do it again, I'd definitely read the series in order because of the other minor characters backstories.

Undercover

As all the other books in this there is romance and suspense but even better is the well-developed characters. The books are long (which I love) but more importantly you have time to really get to know the characters. Outstanding book!

Opposites attract--or maybe God brings two people together to complement each other, to fill one another's empty spaces. Tanner is an undercover FBI agent who often lives in a world of darkness, and Izzy is bubbling over with caring and happiness.

Wow

This was a very touching story. I love the concept behind the ranch and the wonderful people who work there. Tanner was on a mini mandatory vacation from the FBI before his next assignment. Izzy works in the rehab dept. He's kinda grumpy, she's cheerful. Can she win him over.

See Me, Cover Me

I enjoyed reading about all of the characters in this book. I especially appreciated the insights that it gave regarding undercover operatives in the FBI even though this is fiction. It still made me appreciate the sacrifices they must make to keep us safe.

Absolutely loved it. Very contemporary and exciting

I like the characters sharing their sordid past with determination to handle sex different. The acknowledgement by Tanner of Christ being what he had been seeking.

I don't normally go for Christian novels, not that I don't believe...

But they are notoriously preachy. This one is not like that. This one is about a girl to whom faith made a remarkable change, and she lives in service to veterans, and other who share her faith.

See Me, Cover Me is a great Christian romance. For me, it has just the right blend of suspense, heart-stopping romance, and God-inspired relationships. The FBI involvement with stopping terrorism is handled skillfully.

FBI story of intrigue and romance

Can a hardened and focused FBI agent make room in his life for more than work and putting the bad guys away? God is able to break through the most walled off heart and bring a jaded life into balance and fullness. I enjoyed reading the romance with a good dose of suspense.

Fantastic!

What a great book! A little bit slow at times but still a great book. This was a wonderful love story that came through some hard times due to Tanner's job with the FBI. It's great to read a good Christian romance without profanity and sex scenes.

Love it

This is the second time that I have read this book. This is actually the first book that I had read in the series before reading the ones that come before it. It is so much better reading the books in order. I love the story of Izzy and Tanner.

Loved it!

Ms. Gee writes inspirational romance the way it should be written. This book was filled with characters with lots of heart who asked the same questions about life we all do. Izzy's honesty with others about her past as well as her honesty with herself regarding her motives was refreshing. The romance was sweet with a few twists. Great book!
