I feel like in each chapter we keep getting little bits of information and this one contributes as well. It's finally been spoken , causing us to go into some battles between our main characters. But William, as always, keeps a level head. And of course, Metatron might be making his way to be a favorite if he keeps up and convinces Uriel to NOT do something. Also, it's hinted in here as to why Dantalion (did something) and OMG I feel for him. You can just tell how much he cared for Solomon so for him to have to do that, to be trusted to do that #cries

And then we get more of school stuff

An interesting and so dramatic volume! I've been learning so many words that I doubt I'll use in my life, but it feels nice to be able to understand more and more (little by little), I can't wait to read the next volume! It's so dramatic! I love Dantalion so much! And Metatron, my sweet child, you were groomed so bad. Glad that the arc of rose's war is finally over, though

This one is when they start using a homophobic slur as sometime in the past in England it seems to have meant some kind of servant for the students in a boys school. So it's a bit of a hard read having that word on damn near every page.

I know it’s period/setting accurate, but having to read “fag” all over this volume certainly did tamper my enjoyment.

Shenanigans of the school fight and then an actual fight of a bunch of demons finding out a bunch of possible betrayals from a few thousand years ago. Somehow still very school drama vibes.

It's been a while since I've read volume 6, so there may have been events that have happened before this one that I don't recall. I did feel a bit like being thrown into the deep end when I finally opened this one to begin reading it.

This volume begins with a little more introduction for Metatron—we are previously introduced to him, but this is more about his circumstances; he seems to resent Michael and reveals some history between them both. He decides to don a human guise to attend the school at which William and the others are at, and it seems like his intentions are purely to stir the pot, though maybe something more behind it is revealed later on.

It's interesting that while the demons are able to pick up that there's something 'off' about Metatron, they can't figure out what, and Sytry does say 'no, that's a human,' when Dante asks whether he's an angel. Metatron's not exactly good at sticking to his story, fumbling over his words when talking about his life in isolation to William during their interview (which think is funny that Dante's first thought was that it may be a date, though he's no less jealous of it being an interview—there's definite BL undertones in how Dante acts towards and seems to feel about William, and I hope it's not just queerbaiting). Metatron makes the smart choice of sprinkling lies into truth when it comes to his story, perhaps that's something he needed or the stumbling over words is intentional.

Dante's jealousy over anyone else getting close to William continues to be a weakness used against him, as he's pitted against an angry Sytry later in the book, who had just recently found out he killed Solomon (which he does confirm, and includes the method with which he did so). Although Dante doesn't answer why, Metatron does conveniently reveal a possible motive in another scene when discussing Solomon's fate with Uriel (that it was to possibly to avoid ecstasy, though William managed the same without dying in a previous volume, so who knows?). Either way, it was clearly a very difficult thing for Dante to do, and William seems to recognise that by saying that we all have things in our past we don't want to talk about, and recognising that that's one of Dante's.

The way William handled this reveal was interesting to me. I can understand why he would have been alarmed, and he did seem alarmed at first. I understand Sytry's assumption that if he's capable of killing Solomon, maybe he could kill William? But I can also see why William said it had nothing to do with him and was between Dante and Solomon, and that it's idiotic to bring up the past like that.

Right at the end, he asks Dante to clarify whether he intends to kill him, and believes Dante doesn't and wants to protect him. It also seems to be a resolution on Dante's resentment about not being summoned by William, since he was finally able to confront William about it just before his fight with Sytry (and we are shown that it seems to be a matter of pride, on William's part—not wanting to summon a demon he constantly asked to stay away from him), and compares the olive branch William extends to the way he and Solomon would make up after a fight (and smartly chooses to keep that to himself!)

I am curious about what Metatron is going to do in future volumes, and whether William will begin to summon Dante to protect him. I did try to order the 8th volume some time ago, funnily enough, the seller sent me a copy in German instead of English! Hopefully the next copy I order will be in the language I ordered it in.

The angel Megaton is playing the human at William’s school. The “War of Roses” have started where higher student are against each other to get credits, they can get a “fag”, a new student who become errant boys. Megaton see this as an opportunity to get closer to Solomon.

We finally learn some things from the past by Satyr and Dantalion, but the reasons are not yet clear.
There were some funny moments, Dantalion is still my favorite. A lot of plots elements are going on at the same time and I wish there were some resolution.
