4.5 "the prophecy" stars
This is a story of a young Elf girl Evangeline, who is about to turn 18 and not only will she discover her new ability, as every Elf is set to do so at the age, but all that she has ever known about herself thus far will become another field of unknown - she will find out that she has a twin brother somewhere, as well as an ancient prophecy – the task of immense importance

Not only does she have a huge responsibility of finding the Aurora stone, through out the 5 realms of Orea – Harmonia (the land of the Elves), Clear Water Valley (the witch's realm), Mieron (the realm of the vampires), Gloria (the realm of the Fae) and Olia (the realm of the Owl riders), fulfilling her destiny, she will deal with matters of life and death as she's about to embark on a journey of her life accompanied by three remarkable beings. A journey filled with first love, friendships, inner growth and strength, life altering lessons through out mortal danger and sacrifice, while they all march in the midst of neverending battle between good and evil, light and darkness.

This is my first encounter with the work of G. S. Tucker and I can only say that i was pleasantly surprised. This is a fantasy genre and I know that there are plenty fantasy masterpieces out there, thus being hard for a relatively unknown author to surfice but I always enjoy and it makes me happy when I do find my own gem in that fantasy ocean.
The Aurora stone is a fantasy adventure told in the narrative 3rd person with little specks of elements that remind me of The Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the rings, Harry Potter and a lot more that can evoke a smile on my face.
Enjoyable read and maybe intended more for the younger crowd, or for anyone that feels like it. *wink*

I read this book after being drawn in by the cover. It tells the story of a young elf, who must fulfill a prophecy, starting on her 18th birthday.
The author does well, painting a wonderful picture of fantastic realms. The supporting characters are not just there to make up the numbers. There is depth to them, which the author does well to embellish.
This book would really appeal to the YA adult market. There is darkness and plenty of action, some of it bloody. However, the story is told with a real gentleness, that will really appeal to lots of readers.
A great debut, from an author who hopefully has more stories to come.

I love anything fantasy, otherworldly, and elvish. Evangeline 'Eve' is a elf from Hermoria who receives her unique gifts upon her 18th birthday. She also receives shocking news from her mother... or the woman she thought was her mother. Yes, Eve's parents disappeared when she was a baby, and her twin brother was lost. Quickly into the narrative, Eve learns of a prophecy that starts her off on an adventure in search of the Aurora Stone and her long lost twin. She has a year and four days to find it before the realms are sucked into the void.
The narrative moves along at a fast pace, and sub characters pop up fairly quickly, giving the reader time to get to know them from early on in the narrative. The sub character's roles were to help Eve in her quest. I would liked to have seen them develop a little in their own right with their own destinies, but I suppose not being sucked into the void is as good a motivator as any.
I found Caleb's character the most endearing. He was flawed, and this added to his charm and made him feel well rounded. Don't get me wrong, you know from the start that he is a gentleman, but he has secrets, fears, and annoying habits like the best of us.
Even though Eve is 18, younger children will enjoy the narrative. It is a YA novel due to the character's age, however, the writing style is teetering on the edge of children's literature. The idea of right verses wrong, good and bad, and good morals, is interwoven through the entire narrative.

I was excited to have the opportunity to read a copy of The Aurora Stone for review. I enjoyed my previous glimpse into Greig's writing that I got while reading Once Upon a Reality, and I was eager to see what she could do with her own full-length novel.
The beginning of The Aurora Stone already had me eager to know more about the truth of Eve's past. I couldn't wait to see how she would tackle the quest set before her. Grieg did a great job of pulling me directly into the story and making me feel supportive of these characters. Evangeline was brave and fought for what she believed was right, even when in an unfamiliar place. I admired that about her. When I learned that Eve was being watched by someone with evil intent, I was worried about what trouble she would encounter on her adventure. Things seemed to be getting more intense and I was eager to know more. As I read, I really enjoyed all the characters and their interactions.
Chapter 13 really put me through the wringer. I was beyond shocked by the events and absolutely heartbroken. What came after was incredible and miraculous. This was a very compelling and well-written story to have my emotions so richly flow from one feeling to another.
Chapter 16 felt a bit out of place (at first) with different characters being introduced and its seemingly sudden mention of ties to the human world, however as I continued reading everything came together in the best way. The storyline with these new characters was intriguing, even when I was a bit confused with this shift within the book. Later, everything made perfect sense and was brilliantly woven together.
As the action really started to hit, I found it hard to put the book down for any length of time. I was eager to know what would happen and to see what Eve would have to do to defeat the darkness. This book took me on an extensive journey through a variety of emotions. Well done!! I can't wait to read more from Alana Greig!

A fantastic story of coming of age. This was my first book by the author Alana Greig. She has a way of drawing you into the storyline. The author describe everything to the point you can see it in your minds eye. The story is about Evangeline who's an elfin and is having her 18 th birthday. On that birthday all elfin get there special power. But, Evangeline finds out that she's not who she thinks she is. Her mother tells her about finding her and gives her a wooden box and in that box is some items from her real parents. Evangeline finds that she has a twin brother. And hidden in the lid of the box is a flat moonstone, this stone is a seeing stone. That's when her journey begins. The prophecy said that she is the bearer of the light and save everyone from the dark evil. Evangeline will go on a quest looking for three stones. Evangeline meets Caleb who's a witch that doesn't use his magic much who was a stone around his neck. Then there's Sapphire the protector a beautiful white owl who's eyes the colour of sapphires. Evangeline meets Jericho the big rat that protects her with his life. And last is Winter the vampire princess with the last stone. The storyline is a journey to get to Nimayaorin who is the evil. Evangeline has to give a lot to complete her journey and vanquish evil. There is a part where Sapphire is protecting Caleb for giant spider and she gives her life for him. It was so real it made me cry. The feeling the writer puts into this book is amazing. The quest take you into the amazing mind of the writer with the description of the different kinds of magical creatures. This book is great for all ages young and old you get to take a step into fantasy.

Eighteen-year-old elf, Eve, must go on a quest to find and save her brother Eli and protect her lands from the evil that wants to overtake it. Along the way, she meets and falls in love with a witch, Caleb. They meet Faes, a unicorn, a healing fairy named Una, and other mystical creatures along the way. She makes friends and their powers unite with hers to try to defeat the darkness of Nimayaorin the Defiler. Without their help and the Aurora Stone, all will be lost in the realm.
I don’t normally read fantasy. I read this book because I’ve read an ARC of Alana Greig’s book called Once upon a Reality and loved her writing. This story did not disappoint. Her characters are well-fleshed out and fascinating. It’s a coming of age, revenge, and rescue story that kept me turning pages to see what power or friend would help them out of danger around the next corner. I highly recommend it.

I picked up this book after the cover grabbed my attention and have to admit, I didn't know what to expect.
Would it be a 'Lord of the Rings' knock-off?
Well, the answer is no, and the author has crafted a delectable little story I thoroughly enjoyed.
I look forward to reading more from Alana. 5* well deserved from me!

This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last. This story is about a young elfin girl about to embark on the journey of her life. Along the way, she encounters several unique characters. They join up with her to hunt the stones that will play a part in saving their lives and their world as they know it from the evil that is set out to destroy them all.
A wonderful story that flows so easily and has a cast of colorful characters that you will fall in love with. Can't wait to read more from this talented author.

Evangeline is an elf who has just come of age. An elder gives her a stone and tells her of a prophecy that she is destined to fulfill. She sets off on her quest, stopping in the realm of the witches first. There, she meets Caleb. As Caleb and Eva travel to the various realms gathering allies, they discover a strength within themselves that they did not know existed. Evangeline learns more about her past, some of it heartbreaking. Defeating the great evil that has invaded the land will be costly, but Eva and Caleb are determined to do whatever it takes.
There is just that little "something" about this book that made it really stick with me. I don't read a whole lot of epic fantasy (although, I do enjoy Terry Brooks and JRR Tolkien on occasion), but this book was really refreshing and exciting to read. I loved the setup - there are multiple realms in this world: witches, vampires, elves, etc - and it is a really rich setting. There are multitudinous ways that the author could go with the stories in this universe, and I find that to be incredibly exciting.
The characters were well done, and the lessons learned were important. Great job, Alana Greig! I look forward to reading more of your work! (I am definitely planning on making this series a part of my children's library when they are older!) This book just made me happy! :-)

Wow! This book has such a gentle, authentic feel to it that it literally sweeps you into another world. Eve had barely had her 18th birthday celebration before I feel in love with her. Not one to generally read the fantasy genre, Alana Greig's warm voice and expressive writing style sucked me right in. She has a way of writing characters you immediately identify with - no matter what realm they are in. I loved the multiple plot layers in this book, specifically Eve's unquenchable thirst for answers about her biological family and twin brother. The characters had such a richness to them that they made me smile and picture them like I was watching a movie. Excellent job, Alana! You will go far! I look forward to reading about all the future worlds you will create... Just fantastic!

This is such a wonderful read. Evangeline (who happens to share the same name as my daughter 😉) is on a quest to find the Aurora stone as soon as her 18th birthday hits.
Along the way she meets up with the companions needed to help her along the way being identified by they're "stones". The friendships that bond and the courage it takes to do the right thing is cleverly described.
It really pulls you into their world. Definitely a must read!

This was my first book by the author Alana Greig. This is a story of a young Elf girl Evangeline (Eve), who is about to turn 18 and not only will she discover her new ability, as every Elf does at the age, but all that she has ever known about herself so far will become cloudy - she will find out that she has a twin brother somewhere, as well as an ancient prophecy she must fulfill. Along the way she meets a cast of colorful characters. I really enjoyed this fantasy, YA story.

What a wonderful story! This story had suspense, mystery, and romance, all wrapped up in a fairy tale type setting. Theee were elves and fairies, and vampires, and talking owls, all working together for a common goal.

This was my first book by this Author and I was blow away by it!! I loved the world she created, I wanted to be in it!! All the wonderful characters and flying on an Owl... come on who wouldn't?! I was so engrossed in this book, cheering them on all the way!! Great read!!

I really enjoyed reading the world that Author Alana Greig has created in this series. The Aurora Stone is the first book in the Orea Chronicles, about the adventure that Evangeline of Hermoria embarks on. Eve needs to stop the prophecy from happening and in order to do that sets out and travels the realms of Orea. I loved the story line, the world, and the cast of characters that Ms. Greig has created. I was entranced from the beginning and couldn’t put it down until I reached the end. I can’t wait for the adventure to continue.
