Sweet, but one wrong note...

I think this series is lovely. Written well, showing the insecurities of both of these flawed characters. I like how they work through them. However this novel hit one very big sour note. I understand there has to be drama, and in these one character is famous one is not, the usual hurdle is the stunning evil co-star, but the fact that they had Dan fall for that bait really soured the entire romance between him and Claire for me. Yes yes the author pulls the, we weren't together at the time...I was miserable and had nothing to lose, so I did it. I'm sorry...if you love someone as much as Dan claims to love Claire and you're pining away for her and miserable, you do not get over your misery by succumbing to the nasty evil co-star! This excuse is used waaaay to often as a reason to cheat, and frankly I'm sick of reading about how they weren't together at the time, so hey it was all right...uhmmm no. If the heroine can remain "true" and not drop her pantries during the "necessary time apart for plot development" then the so called hero should be able to keep it in his pants. If not for this really sour note I would have enjoyed this addition to Dan and Claire's story. But sadly is really spoiled things for me. Way to make Dan look like a giant a-hole.

Liked book 1 better but still charming. Only thing that bothered was the insecurity of the h and the plot devices used for the H to have to stay out of contact and create tensions they felt to add to it

A Matter of Taste by Q.T. Ruby is a delightful romantic comedy. It was light, funny and engaging.

Main characters Claire and Dan are relatable and realistic. Claire is a once scorned 29 year old who has given up on love and hides behind her career and routine. Dan is a 23 year old handsome heartthrob whose Hollywood career is taking off.

Claire and Dan have fantastic chemistry, and their dialogue is funny, cute and sweet. The characters bring out the best in one another. The secondary characters were friends and family. Claire’s parents are archaic in their expectations of her and domineering in their treatment of Claire. At no point, does the reader feel Claire’s parents are warm and supportive. Claire’s and Dan’s friends are perfect foils for highlighting their personalities and advancing their relationship.

A Matter of Taste is well written with a perfectly paced plot. There is no rush into “love” or into bed. Dan is a gentleman, and Claire is careful. I loved that the story was not only about finding a supportive loving relationship but also about a young woman finding herself and figuring out how to stand up for herself and what she wants. The ending is happy, but it is not your stereotypical HEA. There is hope and a clear path forward for both Claire’s aspirations and Claire’s and Dan’s relationship.

Q.T. Ruby’s A Matter of Taste is the perfect read for fans of romantic comedies.

A Moment of Truth picks up the story of Claire and Dan exactly where A Matter of Trust Ends. While Ms. Ruby gives her readers a little background, Moment of Truth is best read after consuming Matter of Trust.

I really enjoyed Matter of Trust, and Moment of Truth does not disappoint. Claire still questions and berates herself too much at the start of the book. However, by the end she comes into her own. She works on her relationship with her overbearing mother, and she gains a little confidence and maturity. The adorable Dan will melt your heart. Not only is he a successful, swoon-worthy movie actor, but also an attentive boyfriend (at least as time allows). Claire and Dan have good chemistry. Their perpetual banter is sweet, silly and personal. They share a similar sense of humor, and they are terribly cute together.

Ms. Ruby has perfectly depicted the struggles of being in a relationship with a prominent figure and maintaining a long-distance relationship. Both Claire and Dan find success in their careers, so professional jealousies are never an issue, however, between the infrequency of their interactions and number of outside influences pecking at their foundation, Claire and Dan are in for a rough ride. Perhaps it is the difference in their upbringing, but Dan is more confident and mature in life and in his relationships. After a little angst, Claire realizes that it is her insecurities that are causing much of their relationship strife.

A Moment of Truth is at times slow, at times too sweet or obvious in its angst, but overall it is a lovely read. I adored Claire and Dan in A Matter of Trust, and I enjoyed the development of their long-term, long-distance relationship in A Moment of Truth. This sequel provides the perfect ending, and epilogue will melt your heart.

I just finished a back to back readathon of A Matter of Trust and A Moment of Truth. And this review and rating for this awesome series.

He's an A-listed actor, the hottest in Hollywood . She's an ordinary high school teacher turned musical composer. Claire had been hiding from the dating world because her past had given her major trust issues... Until her world turned upside down when she saw Daniel Chase. They met in the elevator and were trapped there for a suspended time. And that's what started their future favorite bedtime story.

Daniel Chase was almost perfect.
He's drop-dead gorgeous, has this sexy British accent and smells like soap and shaving cream combined. But he doesn't know how to cook, and he's made a huge mistake in the course of their journey, which is also a love story of second chances. But the best part I adore about Dan was his thoughtfulness. I'm so glad that their love was able to withstand the test of time and distance and understand and accept each other's flaws.

There were so many frustrating situations as obstacles for them to freely love each other in their love story , that I myself got affected as a reader. But it was the sweetest, most swoon-worthy happy ending. And the epilogue was a bonus that made me smile . I was absolutely hooked on their journey from cover to cover.

Fun , fast-paced read with amazingly witty conversations, a lot of sexy times, a Grease-loving best friend and fabulous Fairy Slutmothers. Really, Squad Goals. But most importantly, Relationship Goals. Because despite the age difference, the long distance, and all the other obstacles that came their way, love prevailed. Falling in love may be a matter of luck. But staying in love is a matter of trust. This book was a unique modern fairy tale romantic comedy, with a bite of reality. I loved A Matter of Trust and A Moment of Truth!

I received copies of these books from the publisher in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Every fan girl dreams of being stuck in a lift with a handsome Hollywood actor don't they? Clair isn't one of those people, she knows who Daniel Chase is of course but she's a serious school teacher and 6 years older than him. That doesn't stop him from pursuing her and therein begins a long distance romance.

At times I wanted to throttle Clair. For a 29 year old woman who was confident in her career, she has many issues not least self esteem but it's understandable when you meet her mother Rita. That woman would test the saints. Dan is a likeable London lad. I love that his friend Colin is a Grease fanatic. He along with Clair's 'slutastic' friends give some comic relief through the story. Overall, A Matter of Trust is a sweet and sexy tale that's mostly Clair's journey towards living life for herself and not others. It's about falling in love in the public eye and mostly about trusting yourself above all others.

A Moment of Truth continues the story of Dan & Clair where A Matter of Trust leaves off. Everything is hunky dory for about five minutes with their relationship but as usual the course of true love never runs smooth. Clair is still stubborn and questioning why a hot Hollywood star like Dan would want to be with her and this makes her frustrating at times. They both make mistakes and a few times I questioned why they were so accepting of certain situations. There are so many ups and downs for this couple not least Clair's know it all mother Rita who needed a slap in her smug face a few times. I really got worked up by the actions of the 'bad guys'!

A Moment of Truth is a great read for when you want something for the beach or just to curl up with on. Sunday afternoon.

I luv my Hollywood Hottie leading man falling for girl next door!

I read A Moment of Truth last year, and was so glad to finally get this sequel; and how nice to get it as a set, and even better with Kindle Unlimited! In book 1, Claire meets Dan, a handsome and charming guy with a British accent in a malfunctioning elevator, and a romance ensues. We go through the reveal of Claire finding out that Dan is Daniel Chase, and popular up and coming Hollywood actor. Claire has not had a lot of luck in love, and with a domineering Mother, her self confidence is shot. This, along with being in the spotlight lends to the angst of book one. Oh and did I mention that Claire is a few years older than Dan, which also eats at her confidence. We leave book one with a reunion of our gorgeous couple, with all hopes for a HEA.
Enter book 2, with our couple blissfully happy, and keeping their relationship under the tabloid radar. Claire has a new career which she loves, and Dan's star is shining bright. Paparazzi, a bitchy leading lady, a jealous actor, time and distance, and Claire's critical Mother are just some of the factors threatening this couple's happiness. I did enjoy it; it had just the right amount of angst, love, fun and fantasy. If like me you love the Hollywood Star meets beautiful girls next door, you will enjoy this read.

Book 1: I love the relationship between Daniel and Claire! I can't wait to read the next book!

Book 2: I was very frustrated with Claire and Daniel many times in this book, and disappointed in others. I love them together so much! I love that they were able to overcome so many different struggles.
