Elvis has been spotted in the little town of Climax, North Carolina. Or at least, a shapely female Elvis impersonator—who’s got Kaz Cates all shook up . . .

Kaz is having one of those days. Cyber criminals, federal agents . . . and now, Elvis. In reality, the King is Mirabel Diaz, earning money by delivering singing telegrams. But Mira’s got another reason for being here: she knows Kaz Cates is secretly a master hacker with the skills to help people disappear, and that’s exactly what she needs to do. Still, Kaz can’t help wishing she’d stay awhile . . .

This isn’t Mira’s preferred career—her singing voice isn’t even that great—but her ex-boyfriend, a powerful Russian gangster, hasn’t left her a choice. No matter where she runs, he seems to find a way to pull strings and get her fired. If she doesn’t get off the grid, his vengeful acts may only get worse. Kaz reluctantly agrees to help, and insists on teaching her self-defense. Though she’s afraid to trust any man, she feels safe with Kaz . . . and welcomed by his family. But if they don’t stop the danger that’s chasing her, she may have to go on the road again instead of finding a haven in his arms . . .

description

After a beginning that had me cracking up hysterically, I had high hopes for this book. That first encounter between Mira and Kaz, her disguised as Elvis delivering a sexy birthday singing telegram for Kaz's twin brother? Pure genius. I still can't hold back a big grin just thinking about it.
The ensuing chapters had me entertained just as much, but somewhere around the 40% mark, the story kind of lost me.
While the characters - both primary and secondary - were really likeable (despite Mira's constant rambling and Kaz's rather detached disposition) and I adored their friendship, their romance fell flat for me. I didn't feel the chemistry between those two, so all romantic developments felt forced and unnatural to me. And I'm not even talking about the mess that was their first sexual encounter (#weird as fuck!).

I skimmed a lot, especially the parts about computers and Mira's drawn out inner monologues. The pacing wasn't perfect either - elaborating in the most detailed way about unimportant technical stuff like Virtual Reality, and completely leaving out things that would have added a lot to the story, dealing with them by jumping in time and retrospectively summarizing the events in two sentences.
Which is why I wasn't able to lose myself in the book the way I would have liked to.

So while this book held promise and certainly afforded good entertainment here and there, all in all I was left a little disappointed.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you!  the expected publication date is April 18th 2017.

This is part of the Cates brother series featuring 5 brothers where each up to now has received their own story.  While I have read the story of Quinn and Tynan, I somehow missed Sijan's story.  This is the fourth featuring Kaz.  One can only assume that Paxton's story will follow.  This can be read on its own as the previous characters only offer small parts within the story.

While I wasn't heavily invested in Mira as a character, I did enjoy Kaz.  There is something to be said about the hot, nerdy guy.  For some reason this type has always held more appeal to me than the buff alpha male.  he was the best of both worlds, easy on the eyes and intelligent and sensitive (to a point, he is after all a nerd).

The storyline doesn't offer any real surprises to those who have followed the series thus far however does manage to entertain.  I liked the fact that the relationship between Mira and Kaz took a natural progression.  They were dating for weeks and just didn't realize it.  So much better than a relationship based on physical attraction.  You could see the emotional relationship build between these two.

Overall a good read in an entertaining series.  I look forward to Paxton's story next.  I will close with my favorite quote from the book

"Some men are blessed and are in tune with women's needs and preferences and they just know.  I have yet to meet one of those men.  I think they are like unicorns.  We women always search for them, but they might be pure fantasy"

I would like to give this book a 3.8 Stars!!

ARC provided against an honest review.

The story is as amazing as a romantic thriller and romantic comedy.

I cannot put the book within a single parameter. It has many corners in it like action, suspense, love, sex, one night stands, comedy, crying over past, defence classes etc.

It was a long and thorough journey for a reader. Both the protagonists; Kazimir (russian background) and Mirabel(spanish background) meet as strangers who are destined to be together. They both are intelligent freaks. One is a computer techie and ex government cop while the other is an impersonation of ELVIS, geeky over mathematics and mathematicians and calculus etc. She has a photogenic memory which might help later on.

Mira, is a sexy auburn hair lady and she's on a run from her past. Somehow through a game she used to play, she found a lead to someone who can make her problems go away. This makes her land on Kazimir or Kaz. And she is not sure if Kaz is the wizard or his twin brother is. They both deny and yet are hiding something. She is fucking desperate to find a solution before the past reaches to her and makes her run again or kill for good.

Kazimir or Kaz Cates, is a genius with glasses and brains and beauty. He has everything in his life from loving parents, loving and bickering brothers. Yes, there are totally 5 of them!! Geez *fanning my hands, so much hotness*!! So, he loves yoga, meditation, computer languages, VR(virtual reality) and what not. Within each chapters, mostly, you'll find a new thing about him to like and swoon over. He's a sexy pirate like with long dark hair. He finds Mira attractive instantly but he knows his confession would only scare her more than she already is.

The story entails quite a lot of twists and turns and somehow at some point of time turns too much to read. The book is filled with intelligence about the latest technology and the VR scope in the modern world. It gives us a glimpse of future in those scenes and the author covers her intelligence and madness over maths and computers with hot sexual tension and a memorable funny bone ending.

I extremely vouch for this book for its drama and its ending!! Although the book is a usual HEA but the ending is interesting with action and comedy mixed. I loved it and thought of it as a new way to approach the end of a beautiful love story.

Cheers and Kudos to the Author!!!!!!

Yet another fantastic read from Lee Kilraine. This book has everything you want from comedy to romance to drama and suspense, it covers a wide array of feelings and makes you think about future innovations. Love 2.0 makes you love the Cates brothers more than you already do from the other brothers stories. It's a fun read about small town life and how much family is willing to do for you even when it's not your own family. The chemistry between the two main characters just jumps off the page at you and holds you in suspense to keep reading to find out what's next!

I have voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, and am leaving my honest review. Kazimir(Kaz Cates) is a computer nerd and former FBI employee. Mirabel Diaz is a Certified Public Accountant on the run from a stalker. When Mirabel heads out to find the Wizard to help her disappear she finds him, but doesn't know it's him until much later. This book is a sizzling, intriguing, page turning romance!

Guess what??? It doesn't matter if you don't have an adoring family & cherished long-term friends. Those things are supposed to be warm & fuzzy, but we all know family can be a colossal pain in the ass, & friends---well, friends come & go. (Only enemies are forever.) It turns out you get the same brain boost from total strangers that you have a high-five moment with. Loneliness is thinking somebody else has the answers, while all along you were wearing the ruby slippers!

LOVE 2.0, Book #4 in my Cates Brothers series is available on Netgalley! This is Kaz's story. https://s2.netgalley.com/catalog/book...

Meet the heroine...
"Mirabel Díaz had heard the expression hide in plain sight, but she was relatively sure walking down Main Street of some small town that time forgot, dressed as Elvis, the Las Vegas years, wasn’t quite plain enough. Her white bell-bottom, rhinestone-studded pantsuit was turning heads. Of course, the fact that her boss Monty had given her a pantsuit two sizes too small didn’t help. She wanted to kiss the inventor of polyester because if she hadn’t been able to squeeze her curves into the Elvis pantsuit, she’d be Madonna right now. And not like-a-virgin Madonna either. No, she’d be Blonde-Ambition Madonna strutting down the sidewalk in fishnet tights and a cone bra.

To think she’d graduated near the top of her class with an accounting degree. Ay! Deja! Enough, Mira. Positive thoughts. Mira was still cursing the day she’d met Ivan Prosser. She’d known she was a terrible judge of character; her last three boyfriends before Ivan had proven that. But she’d never have thought her judgment was so far off that she would date a man she’d be desperate to get away from. She’d passed desperate three jobs, two cities, and forty-three hang-up calls ago. Now she was exhausted, lonely, and broke.

Oh, yeah. And Elvis."

Maybe a 3.5. I love the characters on this series & this book was no exception. Some of the gaming aspects of the story I found myself skipping through.

love 2.0 is the fourth installment in lee kilraine's cates brothers series. this can be read as a standalone though, since i had no trouble following the plot even though i hadn't read the earlier books in the series. kazimir cates, or kaz, is a computer whiz. a well-known hacker, he refuses to play nice with the fbi, but still uses his hacking powers for good. in addition to his online game and the cyber-security contract work he does for private sector businesses, he's also been secretly helping abused women disappear and start over for a while now.

mirabel díaz, or mira, is at the end of her rope when she gets to climax, north carolina. she's working a crappy job at an elvis impersonating singing telegram service and sick of running and trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend. she is pretty sure she's id'd kaz as the wizard, her last recourse since she's ready to disappear and hope that her ex won't follow her. but kaz, who has just tangled with the fbi over his illicit activities, is trying to lay low. and most of his clients don't contact him in person, so he is suspicious.

but when an unfortunate run-in with a bull leaves mira's car totaled and her head concussed, kaz feels compelled to take care of her. the closer he gets to her the more he wants to help her out. first by giving her tips on keeping her identity and whereabouts secure. then by helping her with her self-defense skills. and then by falling for her.

wait, that is totally not something he does intentionally. but even as he falls for her, she falls for him. the only thing holding them back is the fact that her ex is probably a russian gangster and definitely is keeping tabs on mira. as the danger increases, kaz knows he needs to pull out all the stops to keep mira safe, even making her disappear from his life if worst comes to worst.

and really that would be the worst thing that could happen, because in each other mira and kaz have found the one person who complements their brand of crazy. she's crazy good with numbers, he's amazing at computer code. she loves some good junk food, when he's paying attention he eats clean and healthy. she's got elvis' songs and dance moves down pat, while he's an expert in krav maga. clearly, they are meant for each other. and once they get rid of the pesky russian mafioso, things should calm down around them.

**love 2.0 will publish on april 18, 2017. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/kensington books (lyrical shine) in exchange for my honest review.

Kaz, one of five Cates brothers, honed his hacking, err computer skills from a young age. His abilities have more than served him well since, though at times is also causes trouble, as evidenced by yet another visit by the FBI, his former employer. He now offers his cyber security talents to others, and regardless of how many times and ways the FBI tries to lure him back.

Mirabel (Mira), an accountant, is currently All Shook Up, yes, she's dressed as Elvis. LOL But she grows closer with every step toward her search for help, and her goal of staying hidden from her ex-boyfriend, Ivan. As she performs her telegram, she's shocked to see twins, and after cleaning up the different birthdays, realizes her performance was for one, but her situation requires the other. Mira knows he's the Wizard, the man capable of helping women in dangerous situations disappear, but he sends her away.

Kaz, having received a heads up to stop his underground work for a bit, sends Elvis on her way, believing she was sent as a trap. However, he can't quite forget the look in her eyes and the desperate way she grabbed his hand. As more Elvis sightings occur around town, Kaz can't help but feel bad and begins to waver in his belief that she's the bait to catch him. When he realizes Mira truly is in need of his help, he agrees and, as they're limited on time, offers his guest room.

As Kaz helps Mira with her situation, Mira decides Kaz needs some as well, albeit in a different way. Kaz may be brilliant, but prone to pick up social cues, as in those from women, he is not. Mira offers her assistance as sort of a thank you for all he's doing for her. Now if only they weren't so attracted to each other...

"What he felt for her was bigger than that. Needier than  that. Possibly even greedier than that." - Kaz

Why is Mira's ex so reluctant to let her go? How far is Kaz willing to go to protect Mira and ensure Ivan is out of her life for good? Will he fight for a future with Mira? Or will he feel helping her become someone new is the better choice? Can Mira trust in Kaz and their connection? Is Mira safe? Is there a HEA for Kaz and Mira?

One-click now and follow along as a desperate woman searches for the one man that can help her escape her past, and instead discovers her future. While this is book four in the series, I had no trouble following along without having read the previous titles.

On a purely personal note, having every woman, aside from those related, dating/married to one of his brothers, or older than him, flirt and/or hit on Kaz, got really old, really fast. Not to mention it all happened while Mira was with him. An example of why it became annoying? Within the first 30% of the book, it had already happened with four women, which breaks down to one at every place he and Mira visited, excluding only his parents' house and the mechanic's garage. Thankfully, this faded fairly quickly after that part.
