This book reads well. The requirements for understanding the philosophies explained in this book is to have a fairly good grasp of Algebra, Probability Theory and Statistics. The most dense part of the book is in Part 4, "Risk and Return". When you get over that hump, everything else is easier to follow.

There are so many permutations and combinations involved in evaluating a firm that you have to be careful that you don't go into the realm of speculation. Nonetheless, the philosophies shared in this book are great intellectual exercise in understanding the capital structure of a business and finding the value of that business.

The exercises, assignments and the layout of the content is excellent. As you can see. I gave this book a 5-star. It will be a book that I will reference for assessing a business.

This book is directed to corporate purposes. If you have a bunch of money in a form of cash or anything else, you will find it very helpful to make the best of that. Besides, you will be able to differentiate between investments to choose that best choices you may follow. On the other hand, this book is also valuable for companies to help them in organizing their capital structure, selecting the best strategies in funding their projects and dealing with other similar issues. I would say that it is not simple to read this book and keep attracted to the flow of information unless you are interested in corporate matters. For that reason, I give this book by 3 stars for this drawback. If you want to be alarmed until the end of it, I recommend a simultaneous use of internet to clarify concepts may come up and need to be fully understood.

After having studied through this book I can now speak the same language as banking professionals and financial managers do. Invaluable knowledge for anyone seeing himself/herself as potentially having managerial position in a corporate world. Besides, sound financial education should be MUST for everyone willing to succeed in our cruel capitalistic world.
