Meet The Beckett Boys. Three Brothers. Each One Dirtier, Rougher, and Sexier Than The Next…
A standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA
JAX
I want to be Brooklyn’s first.
I want to bend her over her dorm room bed, shove that dress up and take her from behind. Mess up her hair, grip it in my hands, yank her head back and plunge my tongue into her mouth.
She thinks I’m a cocky jerk, but I’m not imagining her reaction to me—her fevered blush, her nervous glances, her racing pulse. She doesn’t like me, but she wants me.
Oh, Brooklyn tells herself she’s immune to my charms, but she’s not. And she’s practically daring me to prove it.
Challenge accepted, darling.
I’ll let her think right now that she’s in control, that I believe her words. But her body gives it all away.
This girl aches to be touched, licked. Screwed.
I tell myself that I should leave her alone. Tell myself she’s better off without me. That some other guy can help her loosen up, a guy who wants a more serious relationship. A guy who’s more compatible with her.
But everything in me points in her direction, beckons me to her.
I’m in over my head with Brooklyn, and the hell if I know what to do.
Because I can’t stop being who I am…and who I am will ultimately end up destroying us. The smart thing would be to let her walk away. Let her think I’m just some drunk asshole not worth her time. But it would kill me to have her believe that of me.
Even if deep down, I believe it about myself.
No, it’s not an option to just let her go, despite the spectacular mess that’s going to occur when we end.
Because we will end.
I’m not ready to change who I am.
BROOKLYN
I know better than to be with a man like Jax.
I know better, but I can see the arousal in his eyes, how dark they are, how intently he stares at me. Like he wants to consume me bit by bit.
And God it’s stupid, but I want it too.
My whole body burns and pulses in response to his wicked words.
I need to fight this. He’s dangerous.
But part of me wants to believe he thinks I’m special, too. That I’m different. That I’m worth more than just a casual one-off fling.
He’ll never want anything other than that, though.
He wants to keep being wild and rough. No matter how close he and I get, it’s always going to be the same thing. Me pretending I’m not upset about who he is, that I’m perfectly okay dating a guy like him and keeping it casual. When the reality is, I’m not. Because I’m not a wild girl—not in his way, at least.
In the end, I’m going to want more, and he’s never going to be able to give it to me. So how long do I let us go on before facing that fact?
Every time he touches me, I realize what this emotion I’m feeling is.
Bliss. Sheer, utter bliss.
It’s a dangerous relative of the word I can’t let myself start to think.
This was a hard one for me to read. I couldn't really get into it. That's why it took me so long to finish it. I didn't want to DNF.
It didn't feel as though the H/h had chemistry to me. Brooklyn was weak. I know she was an innocent virgin, but even virgins can be tough. I just didn't feel this one.
I'm usually ok with insta-love, but this was too much too fast. Not sure if I'm reading the last one??? Don't know that I care for what happens with the other characters.
This was a quick read about a bad boy who falls for a good girl and visa versa. Their banter back and forth was entertaining and it helped you to see why Jax was so taken with Brooklyn...she was unlike anyone he had ever met. I liked the transformation in both of them and how they were able to see that their differences complimented each other. I enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to reading Asher's story. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on August 13, 2016.
Super bad boy player meets a woman he can't stay away from......
Kindle Unlimited standalone in series. Funny, hot, and totally bad. Within 1 day of meeting him he's in bed with a bridesmaid, ignoring what he's supposed to do, and losing his brother's wedding rings :( BUT he's hot!!! She can't follow her sisters mistakes and fall for a bad boy who leaves her pregnant and alone. So why is she attracted to such a bad boy? HEA
Keeps you wondering where the next twist is going to take place. How the guy(?) gets the girl, how elated Joseph and George are with their match making. I give it a 4 because I am not interested in the salacious details of their sex life is.
Olivia Chase nice writing. This was an easy read, with a few problems, some bigger than the others. The bigger ones tend to span a period of time. However, the characters grow and solve problems. Jax discovers what has been holding him back and accepts defeat. But can he shmooze her parents…
Jax is the second book in The Beckett Boys series, and things are getting interesting. This is a fast paced novella that is sexy, sweet, and definitely wild, or at least Jax is. I can't wait to see where the next story leads.
I would prefer to have a book with only one story in it... I liked these stories but I found them to short... I was disappointed when the book finished halfway through & a new one started by a different author ... overall the Beckett boys is a nice read
Second book of the series and I'm addicted and need to keep reading the rest and find out what happens. Make sure you start with the first book to understand everything
I liked this book more than the first one, Smith. I love Jax and I have a feeling he may be my favorite, we'll see. I hope Jax and Brooklyn pop up a lot in the next book.
And can we all just stop a minute and admire this book cover?
I’ve had this book on my wish list for a while and I’m glad I got round to reading it. Brooklyn and Jax have amazing chemistry. Pretty hot bedroom scenes. Jax had a lot of growing up to do. I’m glad the reader get to see Jax become a responsible man.
The Beckett Boys are such fun reads. Readers were introduced to Jax in Smith's book (a terrific story, btw) and you can't help but adore him. His and Brooklyn's love story is great and can't wait to read about Ashton next!
I chose this rating because this was a great book. I love the way Jax was a go-getter. Brooklyn was a very shy and timid young lady at first, she wasn't used to the way Jax did his thing. I was glad that they finally got together and ironed out all of their differences. Especially with Brooklyn's parents after, all she did become pregnant and Jax so happy. Overall this was a great book. I recommend this book to all romance readers.
In the bonus book that was attached to this book. I really enjoyed the book as well of Jacob and Sasha. Entitled "Spiked" Now in this book I really didn't like the way Jacob allowed his parents to speak to Sasha. Even though she wasn't from the same side of the track as they were, but yet and still she was a human being with feelings, but after all was said and done he came to his senses and realized that she is the love of his life and he's taking her to the NFL with him. Great read!
Brooklyn and Jax are a dynamic duo that light this installment of the series. Brooklyn is your type-a personality - she is responsible, honest to a fault, and never lets people down. She doesn't cut loss or get wild and doesn't appreciate those who do so when he meets Jax she instantly has nothing but distane for the obvious good time boy. Jax is intrigued by the beautiful Brooklyn. While she not completely immune to his charms she doesn't instantly fall to his feet. He wants to get to know the mysterious girl better and will stop at nothing to woo her. When their undeniable chemistry surfaces they cannot ignore the passion that flows between them. But they come from such different worlds. Will they be able to bridge the divide?
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is the second book of The Beckett Boy's series. Jax is the middle brother who meets Brooklyn at the rehearsal dinner of his older brother Smith's wedding to Aubrey from book one. This review contains mild spoilers.
Jax is a little rough around the edges for uptight virginal Brooklyn but she is totally attracted to him. She finds him in bed with someone when she goes to remind him he is to help decorate the car and ends up doing it by herself. He does redeem himself a little after the wedding when they spend some time talking. They start seeing each other but he is still set on his wild non commitment ways, hesitant to change for a relationship with her. He is her first and they do decide to only see each other.
Things come to a head when he meets her parents at her graduation dinner. He realizes he isn't good enough for her and ends things. Weeks later while he is running the bar due to Smith's accident he comes to realize all the changes he was fighting against are really not that bad. The bar is profitable and the changes are good. He starts to see the light on the thugs causing problems and bullying patrons and doesn't want any part of it. He also realizes he can't live without Brooklyn.
When Brooklyn shows up at the bar he is surprised to see her. She decided not to go back home to live for the summer. They talk things out and he proposes to her on the spot. On a trip to make amends with her family she tells him she is pregnant and he is ok with it. Just pushes the wedding timeline a little and her parents see the Jax she loves so all ends well.
I received this book from another author for an honest review.
Jax, the playboy bad boy is so freaking SEXY! And adorable in the HOTTEST way!!! Did I say HOTTT, yes. . . yes! I thought Smith was bad, but Jax is THE playboy of the Beckett brothers! There is lots of sex, so be warned. I do not feel they are gratuitous though; the sex scenes are so hot they almost burned through my iPad. I enjoyed the characters of Brooklyn and Jax. The chemistry between Brooklyn and Jax grows more potent the more time they spend together. Together, their banter is refreshing, and their sex is off-the charts hot. Thrills and passion continue to keep Olivia Chase’s readers glued to the pages of this fascinating book. Jax had problems committing because of his mother leaving them when he was young—so hence his irresponsibility and playboy attitude. Brooklyn meets Jax at her cousin’s (Aubrey) wedding to Smith. Brooklyn knows that Jax is not the type of guy for her—bad boy that is wild and rough and non-committing. Jax is turned on by the challenges that Brooklyn gives to him—thus, he pursues her. Will Brooklyn give in to Jax’s advances? Will Jax tell Brooklyn why he cannot commit? Or is this the straw that broke the camel’s back? The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
When we first met Jax in Smith (his brother's story), he comes across as a charming rogue - completely loving his carefree manwhore status, but underneath, a pretty nice guy. In Jax, we see that this goes a bit too far: at Jax and Aubrey's wedding, he's basically collecting bridesmaids' favors (e.g., panties), and doesn't appear to have a responsible bone in his body. Too busy in bed with a girl whose name he can't even remember to show up to help Brooklyn decorate the newlyweds' car, he manages to lose the wedding rings. Brooklyn is Aubrey's good girl, college senior cousin. Dedicated to her studies, Brooklyn is as innocent as they come, but feisty with quick comebacks. The sass in her, coupled with her beauty and stunning body, raise unprecedented feelings in Jax - could she be the one to change his ways?
