What says I love you like a lap dance?

Sophia Raines has the looks, the charm and the hottest strip club in Dallas. So why’s she so glum? The man she loves is deploying to Afghanistan, and she hasn’t had the courage to tell him she loves him. Tonight, however, that will change. Sophia has devised the perfect plan to show Bret just how she feels.

Bret Dowers has loved Soph for years, but between two tours of duty—three if he counts his disastrous marriage—things have never worked out. When Soph rocks his world with some serious PDA, however, their friendship takes a dramatic turn into Sexville. But with the separation of deployment looming, can their newfound love survive or will this weekend be all they ever have?

Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that's way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

A touching story of best friends who never knew...

I really liked this story. The idea was so endearing; best friends secretly in love yet watching the other live their lives.

Until Soph decided to do something about it!

The book was well-written and the story flowed smoothly. Personally, I think maybe a little more tension build-up would be awesome, like a little more backstory.

But the love was smoking hot and the story was so sweet. I'd be interested t red more books by Brandi!

Could have been longer

When a hot sexy pair of "friends" finally makes it past the friend zone and into the passion pit, the sparks can really fly. Both came with baggage that had kept them from moving forward quicker but when they finally did, it was worth the wait.

2.5 WTF stars.

Needs an editor and proofreader. This one is for those that want more lust than love.

The sweet conversations were 4 star,
“I know how much Janet hurt you with all the crap she pulled, and I know how distracted it made you. You told me more than once how much it messed with your concentration, that it almost cost you your life. I’d rather die before I put you in that sort of danger, Bret. I would.”
He squeezed his eyes shut against a sudden rush of tears. Sophia loved him. She might not have used those exact words, but she didn’t have to. She’d rather die than put him through the same hell Janet had. It didn’t get much more definitive than that. “I trust you with my life, Soph.” He pressed his index finger against her chin, tugged until their gazes locked. “I trust you with my heart, Sophia. Nothing’s gonna change that.”

He spilled more into her than just his seed. He poured himself into her too. All of him. All his love. Everything he was, he freely gave to her, and he finally admitted the truth he’d been trying to avoid. Fighting their love was pointless, so he’d wait for her while he was deployed. He’d be faithful, even if he couldn’t, in good faith, ask her to do the same for him, and hopefully, if he came back—when he came back—they’d pick up where they left off. He collapsed on top of her, happiness making his world spin.
“And Soph?”
“Hmm?” she asked with a breathless sigh.
“I love you too.”
(swoon right?) but the rest was cringeworthy to read.

There were also some mistakes that made it like reading something where AutoCorrect majorly failed...."wondering" hands (wandering),
& Yeah, and maybe The Adjacent General would call him personally and tell him the deployment was off. (Adjutant). Yikes!

The epilogue made me wanna vomit. Had to skim. After an 18 month separation (romantic than I am), I would have rather had a proposal or him meeting his baby for the 1st time or something emotional. Obviously not my cuppa, but for others it will rock your boat.

Kris' Review

Ms. Evans creates two very memorable characters in Sophia Raines and Bret Dowers. This is a very well written story of two ‘best friends’ who are afraid to tell each other their true feelings, for fear of ruining the relationship they have. Friends since college ten years ago, and roommates for the past year, Sophia has often fantasized about Bret.

Sophia Raines owns ‘Exposed Desires’ one of the hottest strip clubs in Dallas. Six years ago, when she was a dancer there, the manager tried to rape her. Now she runs the club and prides herself on ensuring her dancers feel safe and secure. She hasn’t danced since that horrific experience, but tonight she’s about to. She is finally going to ‘show’ Bret exactly how she feels. He is about to be deployed to Afghanistan for the third time in a few days and Sophia can’t wait any longer.

Bret Dowers has been in love with Sophia for years but has always been afraid of telling her for fear of rejection. What happens if he tells her and she doesn’t feel the same way? Will he lose his Brazilian beauty forever? If she only knew how many times, she had been the object of his fantasies over the years, especially during his deployments.

Therefore, when Sophia expresses her feelings for Bret on stage, he is blown away in more ways than one. Could she really have feelings for him? Sophia planned the lap dance to be a great sendoff, but when he responds to her advances, will she tell him that she loves him? The last thing she wants it to have him distracted in a war zone. Moreover, if they do declare their love for each other, will it survive the year of separation that they are about to embark on?

Ms. Evans writes a hot steamy rollercoaster ride of sexual expressions of true love feelings.

Exposed Desires by Brandi Evans
* I purchased a copy of this book for my personal library*

Exposed Desires is the strip club that Sophia Raines owns. She has the hottest club in town thanks to her former sleazebag boss. She has everything she wants except Bret but that’s all about to change.

Bret is being deployed to Afghanistan for his third tour. He and Sophia have been best friends forever, he even lives with her. He has been in love with her for a long time, he’s just afraid to tell her until he receives the lap dance of his life.

I loved the beginning of this story. The strip tease was the perfect opening for the two of them to explore their feelings for one another, plus it was just HOT!!! The characters both bring baggage into this relationship; Sophia was almost raped by her former boss and Bret’s ex-wife screwed him over. Their flaws make them more enduring.

They have a history together so their relationship follows a natural progression and is believable. Their emotions are raw because they are still unsure of each other. They have both been hurt so they are afraid to lay it all out there. It’s very hard to go from being friends to lovers without worrying about what ifs and this is what Sophia and Bret faced. Neither one wanted to lose their best friend.

Overall I really enjoyed Exposed Desires and give it 4 Flaming Hearts.
