Will William find the key to Jane's freedom before it's too late? Will Jane learn to trust William with her life and possibly even her heart?
While I appreciate how clean this read was, I wasn't very impressed by the quality of the writing or plot. The way in which Eleanor Meyers wrote her stories really abused the idea of paragraph format. She started new paragraphs all the time and sometimes those paragraphs were only one sentence. I know that wouldn't bug everyone, but I did find it a little distracting. The writing was also full of modern idioms which, had I been fully convinced of the historical time period, would have jarred me out of the narrative.
Part I: Nathaniel and Amy's story was a yawn fest. Amy wants to marry him almost right after meeting him for the first. Cue the instalove. She's a devout Christian and even though his rakish behaviour is pretty much common knowledge, she's not willing to find someone else who has the same values as her? I don't get it. Plus he's been against marriage his whole adult life and is all of a sudden willing to "claim her" as his own, "wants her forever", and "can't stand the idea of her being with someone else"? Again, I don't mind this plot so much. It's not original, but when done right it can be very entertaining. However, the shortness of this story made character and plot development almost nonexistent. Half a star for being engaging enough and half a star for a clean story.
Part II: The H, Andrew, was a real jerk. I can't believe the h was willing to put up with his unforgiveness constantly being in her face. I felt bad for her. :(
Part III: Even though there is a big bad villain in the background of this short, the suspense and terror were lacking. I blame it on the short length of this story. It wasn't long enough for any real character or plot development.
Overall, this compilation of short stories isn't terrible but I will have forgotten it by tomorrow.
Regency Romance: To Love A Lord of London (A Wardington Park Book) (Raptures of Royalty : CLEAN Historical Romance) Kindle Edition by Eleanor Meyers is a unique, and interesting Regency Romance. Three short stories pertaining to three heiresses, a Marquess, a Lord, and an Earl. One is embittered, one is a rake of the first order and one is very powerful. But will three heiresses be able to help them find inner peace, forgiveness, redemption, healing and a HEA? 330 pages of pure intrigue and the power of love. A masterfully written tale, that will keep readers entranced and enthralled, throughout. Compelling, powerful and impressive. Fans of clean reads, Regency, feisty ladies and powerful men, will enjoy this fantastic read. Ms. Meyers is a talented storyteller, who draws readers into her emotionally charged stories and holds them in awe. A must read Regency Romance! Three stories in one powerful collection! Simply amazing! Strongly recommend, picking, "To Love A Lord of London" up for your reading pleasure. A must have treasure!
This was my first and last Eleanor Meyers book. It is poorly written and edited. I'm fairly certain people of the Regency era didn't stage "interventions", neither did they say "don't go there". They also didn't "party" with others. All in all, these novellas are poor representations of the Regency period.
To Love A Lord of London is a charming introduction to a world of slightly connected stories in this particular book, and the beginning to a much longer series.
The Duke of Wardington is a widower with adult children. He may not be the focus of these romances, but he certainly plays a part in the matchmaking department of his sons. A word here, a bit of a swift kick there, and a little help for the ladies involved. He may not look like cupid, but his influence does make a romance possible for some.
Nathaniel & Amy Nathaniel has never had a problem convincing any woman to be his… well, not his wife for he has no intentions in that direction. So when he meets Amy Ott and tries his well defined charms on her, he utterly fails to win her as his mistress. He is attracted but determined not to be tied down to one woman. He makes a careless statement that he’ll be there when she fails at her Season to pick up the pieces. Probably not a wise move, for Amy will find unexpected help… and Nathaniel will soon be singing a different song.
Andrew & Catherine At one time Andrew and Catherine had been friends, childhood sweethearts who made a promise that he would propose by her 25th birthday. It was made in fun for they both expected to be married to each other long before that date – except that didn’t happen. Andrew saw something innocent and it destroyed his faith in Catherine. Catherine has been holding out hope that her love would eventually be returned once again when Andrew overcame his anger. As her 25th birthday approaches, it’s obvious that won’t happen. Until a friend begins to show Catherine attention, makes noises that he will offer for her one day soon. Will Andrew finally see the truth and let go of anger over something that had no reason for his reaction… only time will tell.
William & Jane Jane is holding on to a family secret. One that she will do anything to hide, even allow herself to be blackmailed into stealing from friends and family. When William discovered what she’s doing, he walks into so much more. In this short story William and Jane will fight their attraction for each other as well as those who hold information over Jane’s head. Will love win – only if stubbornness prevails.
I enjoyed To Love A Lord of London very much. It’s a lovely set up to what I believe will be an interesting and entertaining long series. These stories are populated with interesting secondary characters who will most likely have their own tales told one day. It’s exactly the type of series that keeps me coming back book after book, waiting to learn more about the people who have become so familiar.
If you are in the mood to be entertained, smile a bit, shed a tear and find love in the Regency times, then this story and this series is one I believe you’d enjoy. I would definitely recommend it for any Regency Romance reader who enjoys sweet and clean romance.

There are so many characters in this story. I recommended to read this book first before you read the rest of the series so you can follow them better.

This book actually contains three interconnected stories. They were all very good. There is action, adventure, romance, and mystery. Part One is about Nathaniel and Amy. This story seemed to me to have overtones of Cinderella. The heroine, Amy, lives with her aunt, a female cousin and her uncle. The aunt and cousin do not really want her there. Amy gets her cousins hand me downs. Her fairy godfather, the Duke of Wardington, steps in to instruct her as to how she should behave, what she should wear and what she should say. He is setting her up to marry his middle son, Nathaniel. There are stumbling blocks and hiccups along the way. Part Two is about Andrew and Catherine. Their story is a friends to lovers. It is not smooth and we see the couple from the first story in this one. These two deal with forgiveness. They both come to see past actions from the other person's point of view. Part Three is about Willliam and Jane. This story addressed the issues surrounding trust and doing things the right way. Jane had to learn to trust William with all her secrets. William needed to learn that the secret was not going to affect her alone but her family as well. And that some things really do need to be left alone. I am curious about the rest of the characters that had secondary parts and want to see what their stories are. I am sure I will not be disappointed.
The first book in the Wardington Park Series (must read)
I honestly read this book so I could have the back story to one of the later books. It is a must read if you want to read any of the Wardington Park books. I enjoyed the first story very much. It was cute and slow enough for a short story to be somewhat believable. The second book kind of annoyed me. It’s a second chance story and the hero was mad at the heroine the entire story until the very end then poof he was over it. The 3rd story was very cute but the love story part was kinda rushed. I believe they met and fell in love in 3 days.
Overall good short stories that you must read before reading the other books.
As I was reading this book, I found myself initially interested in the story lines, but at the same time distracted by the sloppy writing.
For example: Catherine walked the woods behind her familiy’s property for almost 23 years, but she’s only 25. She must have gone on walks starting at the tender age of two. Impressive.
And the dead husband of the “Dowager Cartridge” is referred to as a Duke on one page and an Earl on the next.
And then I got to the “intervention” part and simply had to stop. All these older women commiserating how disillusioned they were by their husbands, but then giving Catherine unsolicited advise on how to meet a man who “truly adores” her. Well, by their own accord, that advice hadn’t worked for them that well in the first place.
Not for those who enjoy a well written book, or an adult.
Ignoring the grammatical and spelling errors was an issue I tried to ignore, and did quite well, until about chapter 7. The author, at this time in her career, just can’t write. It leans to the virginal teen audience looking to get their feet wet in Regency romance, but fails for anyone with intelligence and knowledge regarding this period. This must have been self published.
To Love A Lord of London (Wardiington Park, Book 1)
This book has three part to it, the first is the love story of Nathanial and Amy , the second is the love story of Andrew and Catherine and last is the love story of William and Jane. The Duke of Wardington is play matchmaker can he marry three lords off to three ladies? Great story.
This book is made up of three parts which I found unusual. The three stories are good and I enjoyed learning about the sons of Wardington. Each individual love story is well told and I enjoyed them. I’m just surprised that Eleanor didn’t use each short story as a basis for a whole book. Worth a read though.
I've enjoyed reading about the wonderfully different and exciting characters in this novel! Great stories, intriguing, sweet and a hard book to putdown. No disappointments here. Highly recommended by a Tristan of historical romances!
I really liked it... although because of the format some of the relationships might seemed rush, this is an overall fun and easy read :) I look forward to know what happens with the rest of the characters!

This book was really good. The chemistry with everyone made you want to read the book even more. The annoying thing is when trying to get the order of the books it's hard to find. Can't wait to bread the other books!!!
I didn't realize I was getting three novellas when I purchased this book. Overall, the book was a good read. My favorite story was Part II (Andrew and Catherine). With their romantic past, their story was the most satisfying. I gritted my teeth and finished Part I. Nathaniel and Amy were not a good match. Once a man thinks you're beneath him and asks you to give up your London season (your chance to land a husband) to be his mistress, he can't be redeemed in my book. Nathaniel is the anti-hero. He's arrogant, selfish, and dishonorable. Amy shouldn't have had to play games to get him to see her worth. I don't think Nathaniel ever loved Amy. He simply didn't want someone else to have her. By the time I got to Part III, I'd had enough of Lord Cartridge. He'd agreed to play the other man to make Nathaniel and Andrew jealous in Parts I and II. His relationship with Jane was rushed and I just couldn't get into their story. The whole blackmail and revenge subplot wasn't what I was in the mood for tonight.
Historical Christian Fiction. 1850's London Society Romance novel that is clean. I read the whole series that was out by February 2017 during February 2017. I love the way the author introduced characters and the peripheral characters from the previous book become the main characters of the next. These are just fun, easy reads that all have different nuances to their stories.
Book Order: 1. To Love a Lord of London 2. The Regards of a Rogue 3. Gaining the Gentleman 4. The Skills of a Scoundrel 5. A Gentleman's Game 6. The Gentleman's Game of Love 7. The Gentleman's Law on Love
Three love stories, intertwined with characters and timelines running through them all. Twists and turns, AND He did What? She said What? Who was That? and of course...You've got to be kidding!!
The London Lover, Nathaniel, wants Amy for his mistress. When he asks if she'll be with him, she thinks marriage. He disabuses her of that idea very quickly. And the race is on. Who will win the challenge? Do the contestants even know there is one? Just how many people are involved in this set up? Join in the enjoyable, scintillating fun and see if you can figure out how long it will take to work it all out, and how it all unravels.
The Marquess, Andrew, made a promise as a teen. He would marry the love of his life, Catherine, or at the very least propose marriage on her 25th birthday if she was not promised or married to anyone else. She turned all else away waiting for him. As time gets closer, his animosity grows stronger, until he lets her know - - "bye-bye Charlie", or in this case, "Cat". Can she win him back? After all it's based on a grudge he's been carrying around for nine long years. Again, the kibitzers are involved, many of the same ones as before, and Andrew is Nathaniel's big brother. William has a larger part in this story and if he wasn't an Earl I'd picture him with a big grin on his face and rubbing his hands with glee. Seeing someone get their comeuppance is so, so satisfying. See what you think when you read this one. A chortle or two towards the end would not be untoward at all.
William, the Earl, finally gets his own story at last, instead of being a secondary or tertiary character of every one else's tale. Boy does he get a convoluted mess to sort out. He always did like a good mystery, something that needed rooting out the dross from the fine. But really, couldn't Jane have been a little less like manufacturing an intricate maze in her dealings and explanations to him? Either way, his interest is piqued beyond his wont or control. A wild and woolly ride through the high and low ends of London. Don't get your skirts or boots dirty in the mud that's around.
You really won't believe who turns out to be, what? You meet some characters at their very inception in history. OMG!!! Fantastic!! Enjoy the journey of three intersecting stories. I want more, especially with the Rogue Duke, Duke Wardington. He needs to get his. Bet the Dowager Countess will be able to handle him. What do you think? Enjoy the romps!! I most certainly did!
Beautifully written stories of three Regency romances with good story lines. Can a reformed rake learn to let go of his fears and let himself love someone perfect for him? Is it worth years of waiting for a second chance at love? Is it possible to forgive yourself for a wrong you feel you have done and learn to love someone else again? These romances were very emotional, clean reads. Not a long read, but had great backgrounds and complex characters.
