Casey Lane was barely scraping by as a detective, taking on small mysteries as they came in, but she was content enough. Then her benefactor, and ex-college beau, showed up expressing interest in being a part of the agency. Technically he just wanted to get ideas to use for writing his first mystery novel. Zane soon learns that being a detective isn't as exciting as one may imagine, and Casey learns that she was right about Zane all along... he's nice to look at, but he's not all that bright.

This was a very enthralling story. Where on earth could that diamond be? Funny story with a twist.

Kindle Unlimited. writes with partner Christopher P Young sometimes, every once in a while someone else or alone, if you don't consider his probable multiple personalities thing, these seem to have been cowritten with another Logson so assume he currently has wife or other female relative hostage, guilty of Ononokin series some of which are both in sets and singles, Platoon F some of which are in sets and in singles, Queen Arthur some of which are both in sets and singles, Starliner/this one, Relic, and South Lane Detective Agency some of which are are both in sets and singles. There is also a prequel to the Ononokin set which can only be gotten from the author's site so only one know of not available on ku in some form. Reading any or all of these without a firm connection to reality...highly recommended, as he has taken too many hockey pucks to the head a.k.a. as I wrote him, he's 'pucked up'.
