After the death of their grandmother in one of the most infamous neighborhoods in Philadelphia, Samir and his little brother, Damon, are left to fend for themselves in Strawberry Mansion. By the ages of fifteen and twelve, the two brothers had turned into the most successful stick-up kids on the streets of Philly, and their reputations followed them into adulthood.
As adults, Damon sticks to what he knows… robbing local street hustlers. This causes attention from unwanted competition, and proves deadly after an unexpected enemy emerges.
Samir turns into a dope boy, working the very streets he had robbed over the years. Caught in a drug sweep, he finds himself behind bars, where he learns that his brother had betrayed him in an unimaginable way. Upon his release, he meets the sweet and angelic Angel, his probation officer. Because of his past, he is reluctant to give all of himself to her, but Angel finds her way into his heart. But will she be able to keep it?
Angel fought her attraction to Samir with everything in her, but against her better judgement, she crosses every line and steps into fire with him. The stakes are high when dealing with a man like Samir, but she is willing to risk it all. The only problem is that Angel hopes Samir will renounce his dope boy lifestyle… but Samir has no plans to do so. The streets are his life, and he feels that Angel should accept that.
Before long, Angel learns what it means to be a hustler’s woman in every sense of the phrase. Samir loves Angel hard, and she is head over heels for her man. When the inevitable occurs, will Angel choose to abandon love and avoid becoming a hustler’s woman? Or will she take her place next to her hood king and become his hood queen?
When Samir made the statement to trust no woman he meant it. What does the future hold for Samir and Angel? The only confusion that's worse between two brothers is betrayal from a woman, and Sandy is the reason. Very good read and the cliffhanger leaves you wondering who's playing who.
You ever read a book and it's constantly gives you that wtf moment. This is that book. I mean the partners switch ups were unexpected, babies, dropping bodies and the illegal drug bust. The brother's were dogs and killers but the way the Author put this together made it a good story. Even though they were cheaters at some points I rooted for them. That ending though, has to be a dream or something. I know good and well Samir didn't carry it like that.
All I can say is wow. This book was something else. I refuse to believe that Samir ratted Angel out like that. This was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. I despised Sandy. She is a snake and I don't trust her at all. I hope that she gets what she deserves in part 2. I'm glad that Jamir and Damon got over their differences and made up. I need part 2 asap.
