THE DEEPER THE WOUND, THE SWEETER THE REVENGE.

When ex-Special Forces legend, Xander King, moved his Vegas celebration to a yacht off the coast of the Virgin Islands, he was supposed to be taking some much needed time off. When he woke up in the hospital a week later, all he had time to do then...was run. It's bad enough that Russia's most feared assassin is after him. But it's the man who sent this deadly killer, and why he sent him, that has Xander desperately scrambling every resource at his disposal.

As if things aren't difficult enough, Xander has been forced to cooperate with the CIA, and mistrust begins to unravel his new team. With lies and betrayal burdening every decision, the pressure mounts to end the threat before the threat ends them. The pressure...Xander can handle. It's the shocking revelation of a jaw-dropping secret that finally brings him to his knees.

Injured, exhausted, and furious, with everything he has ever fought for now in question, the only thing left for him to do, is fight. This time, however, Xander will have to overcome far more than just bullets if he hopes to vanquish this enemy.

I feel like I have a split personality with this series. Part of me stands back and thinks not only is the stuff Xander and his friends do ridiculous, but the 2 main male characters are total man whores. And yet they will totally be able to settle down when the right woman comes along and be monogamous. Puh-lease!! And despite the action being over the top it is addictive and I love it. Like any good action movie that has great one liners and impossible scenarios it’s just hard not to grin with total glee while immersing yourself in the silly impossibility of it all. And yes despite the constant sex with everyone and how hot everyone is and how perfect they all are….I like them anyway. So I will keep on reading. 😆

And just a quick aside….the ending ripped out my insides and stomped on them.

Excitement Reigns When You Come Face to Face With Your Enemy

Such a thrilling read! Xander's life sure comes with a rollercoaster ride that you hold on tight and live through breathlessly! An amazing cast of characters and sensational plot makes it so very hard to close this book for a minute.
You enjoy the action and adventure from the first paragraph to the last, holding your breath and watching in amazement the stunts Xander and his team use to keep them all safe.
A definite 5 STAR story, that will have you holding on to your chair as you encounter every enemy with the Team!!

This book was far better than the last. Filled with action and a lot less about the toys of a rich man. Xander is forced into a search for his parents killers. The search constantly turns and forces Xander to accept difficult to swallow realities about his past. Good read but not to happy with the last chapter.

The first book in the Xander King series by Bradley Wright was recommended to me somewhere along the line. My review of Whiskey & Roses was tepid, but sometimes series will get better as they go along, so I figured I would continue for one more book. After reading the second book in the series, I was ready to make this the last book I read in the series until there was a cliffhanger ending that intrigued me.

Vanquish picks up nearly where Whiskey & Roses left off. It’s just a few days after the events of that book. Xander King, the perfect former Navy Seal turned into lone-wolf mercenary who is also a billionaire playboy, thinks he has finally avenged the murder of his parents ten years before. His partner in these adventures, former MI-6 agent Sam (short for Samantha) is tipped off that they may have murdered the wrong guy. That’s okay, though, because he was a really bad dude anyway. Anyway, Samantha learns that the real killer may now be targeting Xander.

This series (while slightly predictable) is VERY FUN to read. Even though you might be able to see some things coming ahead of time the characters are what kept me coming back for more. Specifically the supporting characters, Sam, Kyle etc... the writer has a great way of slowly revealing the details about the backgrounds and aspects of each character that make the story very enjoyable.

Also the action is excellent. I immediately went right out of this book to the last in the series because I could not wait to keep going.

Supreme writer

Reading this series was like sitting around with some close friends as they told you about this great adventure they had and that you missed out on.
Really enjoyed the whole story and cast of characters. Made me feel like I knew them on a personal level. Had a hard time putting the book down, so I could get some rest. And couldn't wait to continue reading when I woke up.
Well, by now you know I'm hooked. Can't wait for the next book.
Keep up the good writing Bradley and I'll keep reading.

What a fun read! Well written, good storyline, great character development - but more than that - this was just a joy to read. Talk about entertaining :) If you like Jack Reacher, make way for Xander King. You will love it.

I admit Brad offered the first book for free. Of course, I could not put it down. I instantly bought # 2 and finished that the same day. Books 3 and now 4 I had to buy and I devoured them all.

Great reading and well recommended. Bradley Wright has done a great job with this series. I just wish there was more!

Just as the first book in the Xander King series was an action packed page turner, Vanquish did nothing to disappoint (other than the big cliff-hanger at the end). A few more unexpected twists and turns than Whiskey and Roses, but having read both books in a week, they are certainly captivating reads. Wright does a great job creating his characters so you can picture the action unfolding with each word and each page.

Thrilling!

This second in the series is even better than the first. As with a lot of thrillers suspension of disbelief is required for many of the battle scenes but what else could you expect from a superhero. Without giving a spoiler I'll say my heart broke at the ending. Wish there could have been another way.

Vanquish. Bradley wright

An extraordinary, riveting, atomic powered paced action thriller!! Xander, ex Navy Seal, Special Forces, is closing in on the murderer of his parents. Aided by his trusted friends, he's closing in. Deception and betrayal of the most wicked kind is in abundance. A fantastic read!!!

This book would have been a 10 if the scale went that high. Just finished and am more than ready to read book #3! Full of suspense and surprises, this book was masterfully written. Haven't really read anything that compared. Know that you'll be hooked once you read it, just as I was.

I waited until finishing this book, #2 in the series, to write a review, as I wanted to make sure the admiration & excitement I felt from the first book wasn't just a fluke...And judging by the 5stars, you can probably guess what I'm going to say next. Where the first book, "Whiskey & Roses", was an all-around tremendous thriller, "Vanquish" managed to exceed any/all expectations that I could've possibly had. Not since I first stumbled across Vince Flynn's 'Mitch Rapp' series have I been as truly enthralled & invested in a character/story within this subset of the Thriller Genre. And I can't believe I've gone all these years with only just recently encountering Bradley Wright's 'Xander King' series. The first 2 installments in this series gave me every emotion and feeling that come from an amazing, and genre-defining book series. More specifically, I found myself physically cheering in parts, taken aback at how I was LOL'ing at moments, then even covering up the welling of tears at others, and of course, pacing back and forth during climaxes that Wright was able to absolutely masterfully create through some seriously outstanding writing. For me, there wasn't even a moments hesitation in purchasing the next book in the series. This is, IMO, one of the most badass, high-speed, and emotionally compelling/exciting book series that I've read in years. And I can't wait to turn the page on the next Xander King novel. Well Done Mr. Wright, Well Done Indeed!!

Another easy read

The second book of the Zander King series is another easy fast read. Usually I dont like this genre, but the first book in the series grabbed me. Now reading the second book, I’m still a fan of Wright and King. My only issue with this book is the cliffhanger ending. These books and genre would be better by remaining Standalones. I was already going to read the third book and didn’t need a cliffhanger to draw me in, yet I expected a cliffhanger since these books are chronological. Bradley’s books are proofread and you won’t find much distracting typos in his books which makes then easy to read, however I found the action sequences to be a bit too mechanical reading in this 2nd book, however this keeps the book easier to read during action sequences, as you can follow every move made by the Heroes and their antagonist, which shows Mr Wright really thought out his action scenes to make sure they made sense.

Ok

This author is still trying to find his way in writing a story. I almost stopped in the middle, just like the first but he gives you just enough to keep going. He does not understand women at all. I think Sam is a wonderful character but the author has done her a great disservice just like the main character has. I truly hope a man like Kyle doesn't exist and as much as I hope there aren't men like Xandar King, I'm sure there are. This book was worth the money, free. I just don't understand why an editor wouldn't help this guy write a story that flows. If they could have put the two together it would have been so much better. The time of the book is 2 weeks. That in itself destroys this series.

This was the best book I've read in awhile. It was exciting, adventurous and plenty of twists and turns. It had several "OMG, I can't believe it" moments. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. I thought whiskey and roses was great and couldn't get better until I read this. What an incredible author and series! It takes you around the world. The author and this book is so good you feel as if you are there. I'm booked on Xander King and this exciting series! I can't wait to read the next in the series! Can't praise this book, series, or author enough. I can't explain the book without giving away the plot! Guarantee you won't be able to put it down!

I thought this book was great and I had a hard time putting it down. I had planned on making a new recipe but I couldn't put the book down so I ended up making meatloaf! lol I loved the characters and felt like I was right there with them on their excursions. After working hard and risking their lives, time to party hard. I loved how Xander thanked each and every one of them before going out to battle. Just love them and can't wait to read more. Keep 'em coming Bradley and I'll keep reading. Count me as a big fan of yours. LOVE your style of writing. Thank you for hours of entertainment.

Loving the Xander King Series

U have discovered so many fantastic writers through Kindle Unlimited. Bradley Wright is yet another one I will follow. Xander King and his merry band of friends find themselves in some of the most heart pounding situations. The twists and turns that Mr. Wright takes us throughout this particular book had me yelling outloud. Like, are you kidding me?! I really get into the stories I read. As this book ends, there is no way you can't go on and read the next one. Talk about heart wrenching cliffhanger.

I almost didn't read this second one. But I did. And now I'm torn whether or not to continue the series. I hated the "always gorgeous girls crap hanging around the gorgeous and kind van damme skilled guy who can't get enough of them yet is suddenly in love with some Hollywood starlet he spent like 2 days with" storyline. But... toward the end of this book, it seems that maybe the author is finding a way passed that and will be onto a different path, a path I may like. Sigh. I dunno. Ill have to think about it.

Xander King and friends pursue his parents killer, a Russian mafia boss.

The characters in this book are rather one-dimensional and cartoonish, makes the them rather unlikeable. This takes some of the fun out of all the non-stop action. Alexander King is part Bruce Wayne, part James Bond, and somehow seems to survive every situation despite having an uncontrollable temper. All of the women are beautiful and all of them throw themselves at him.

The whole thing is quite cheesy, actually.

Meh a book for guys

The best I could co!r up with was an enthusiastic, meh.
Cancer King is an acquired taste. The book is such a "boys club" read with fantasies and quandaries only a teen boy would have.
Billionaire playing with James bond skills, loads of chicks and the skills of rambo/Schwarzenegger? Really?
The plot lines and twists are great but the embellishments go way overboard. It is like the author is writing a young adult version of the hardy boys.

CAPTIVATING SUSPENSE THRILLER

What an intense read. This story contained non stop action from start to finish. Many twists and turns throughout with lots of misdirection as to the identity of the traitors. Many clues to keep the reader captivated. Such a suspenseful read making it difficult to take a break from this story. An amazing ending leaving the reader wanting more; can't wait to begin the next book of this series.

The book was entertaining enough, it just felt a little phoned in. The characters we two-dimensional and far less inspired than was justified by the events taking place in the plot. Maybe the first book was good enough that it set unrealistic expectations for the next release but I was left with higher hopes that just didn't feel met by the end of the book. Certainly worth the read… just not all it could have been.

As I wrote in my review of the previous book in the series, a lot of fun with little regard for reality. Editing was weak. And I am troubled that the author knows so little about the armed forces that Xander King was a Marine, a Navy SEAL and Special Forces. The only thing left out was to be an Air Commando so he could have been in all of the forces.

Excellent Thriller

This is the first Xander King novel that I have read. It is action-filled with page after page of action and several twists and turns...unexpected twists and turns. I was able to read it in two sittings (battery on my Kindle Fire ran down) and it was worth the time.

well Bradly is in true form for these stories but to get the best entertainment you need to start with the first one. Each one gets better with more characters to add to the fast pace of these stories. These books will be hard to close and finish later. Thanks for the many hours of excellent entertainment.

Amazing Read

These books are gems and I am always blown away by how practical and insightful they are. Bradley Wright is a phenomenal writer and has a vivid imagination and incredible use of language. It reads like a movie on paper. Gripping plots and engaging twists and turns. AMAZING!

I think personally, this book was great. I stand by my point because it was very thrilling, and kept you wanting more. As the second book in the series, it starts off by telling you, "Xander killed the wrong man" Pg. 1, Bradley Wright. After it sets the setting, where we are in the story, how Xander and his team got there. Next, it brings to show you where Xander was attacked, and caught off guard. Following those events, the book shows how they knew, and what their plan was. After many events in this book, it finally gets to the good part, which is very pulling because with such detail, it pulls you in, and you can't put the book down. Overall, this book was an amazing read, it had all the right things to keep me interested.
