Myles is a middle aged virgin and it fits he has a special relationship with his hoover. Although scared that he’ll die alone he has come to terms with it. That is until he meets a waitress at Daly’s diner.

Yvette works at the diner and is intrigued by Myles. Through Murphy’s Law they become friends and then Yvette becomes his girl. I peed my pants when it came to Myles meeting the parents. But at some point it swayed too much into ridiculous territory.

All in all a pleasant read and I wish I could have given it more than 3 stars. Please note that this is my personal opinion on the book and that each person will feel differently about it when they read it. In this case it is me that didn't sync with the book.

On a scale from 1 to 10 in how bizarre this book is I give it 10. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this book to be honest. I didn’t know if I should pity Myles or hug him. I think I felt more empathy for him for the poor sod that he is. This is a book about normal looking people and normal people. It is a down to earth read. There were also a lot of funny moments in the book but there were some things that I think that some people could be offended by.

5 side splitting platypires for The Vacuum Chronicles!

When I was snortlaughing by the middle of the third paragraph, I set my expectations pretty high. By the end of chapter two, I was all "okay, so the love storyline is basically sorted then... I need to stop taking notes for my review and read this book, cuz I wanna know how this is gonna play out!"

And OMG, y'all, I'm so glad I did! This book! This book was straight up a clustermuck of Murphy's Law striking again and again, in the funniest of ways possible. Like, side splitting hilarious, for serious. I haven't laughed this hard at a book in a while!

And then the ending! Woah. I totally didn't see that. I should have known with "Chronicles" in the title, I'd be needing a book 2, but I had no idea our authors would leave it like that.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

~~~~~~~~~~Lillian's ★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Love doesn't always go to plan. Myles needs to find a woman to share his life with as the vacuum cleaner is no longer the only thing that he needs in his life. Yes the vacuum is his best friend in more ways than just for cleaning, a bit freaky I must say.
Yvette is a waitress at the local diner that Myles goes to and they have both noticed each other but they get off on the wrong foot and what could be a great love affair falls apart before than really get to know each other.
Myles just doesn't know how to prove to Yvette that he only wants her and no one else, he tries to talk to her about what she heard but she just pushes him further away. Yvette knows that she really loves Myles but she hates a liar and cheat.
Can they ever find their way back to each other?
There are so many strange characters in this book, Yvette's mom is the best strange and she just wants the best for her only child. Duffy really is stalker damn he scared me as you never knew what he was going to do. Myles is sweet and very innocent still he deserves happiness and Yvette is just the girl for him.
This story was...interesting. Myles is a nice guy, but extremely awkward and socially inept. Myles and Yvette both have had bad luck in the relationship world, both in different ways. I like to think there's someone out there for everyone - Yvette is Myles' someone. Just as unique in her own ways. The story had comedic parts. The inner monologue of Myles was pretty funny. He is one sad little fella.
I think the story was just a little too much for my taste. Some of the situations were just too far out there for me to get into - like the pimple popping. I think others may be able to find them funny. The interactions between characters seemed a little too far stretched from reality and their relationship didn't seem to flow realistically.
The writers provided some witty comments that I enjoyed, but overall I would say this book isn't my style. That doesn't mean it won't be yours!
The Vacuum Chronicles is about a woman named Yvette who is a waitress at a diner called Dalys and a man named Myles Mitchell who is an accountant. Myles comes into Dalys alot. Yvette's coworker, LaRaine knows who is he and the two of them go out on a date.
Yvette and Myles are the main characters. I liked Yvette the most because of her attitude and just the way she was around Myles. Myles creeped me out and is a shy guy who seems to be scared of women in my opinion. A character I couldn't stand was Duffy. He was a bully and I thought he seemed like the "cocky type."
This book has some humor in it, and some of it seemed dumb to me. In the beginning I was like really, what in the world am I reading? Who came up with an idea to write about what a guy does with a vacuum?? I struggled to read this story as it's different from what I've read by Natalie Alder. I did laugh at a few spots but in my opinion this wasn't the best book I've read by Alders. Maybe it's the whole idea of the vacuum but through most of this story I was rolling my eyes.
The writing was ok as it didn't grab my attention. There was humor and a relationship happening but it just seemed blah. There was something missing as I didn't connect to this story. The characters and setting of this story were what made this story an ok/good book to read. This is one series where I am not excited about continue reading.
Parts of the story I liked:
"Your middle name must be Hubble, because every time I get behind you I want to pull out a telescope and stare at Uranus."
"You're as welcome as a polar bear making out with an ice pack on the Fourth of July."
A few things that happened at Dalys.
The name of a club that's called The Chunky Chicken.
NO ONE ELSE
No one, no one but Rick Johnson could devise a totally new use for vacuum cleaners. I’ve read all his books and they are a laugh a page. I must admit to not wanting to meet either of this pair in real life. The man reminds me of the character in a movie who made a pact with the devil in the hope of catching the eye of the girl of his dreams. I wanted to kick him and shake him but then his motives were pure and simple – very simple and all I can say is that he was lucky to fall for the girl he set his eyes on, without her intervention he would still be buying more vacuum cleaners. A great book full of laughs - as always.
The Vacuum Chronicles is a unrealistic story written by Rick Johnson & Natalie Alder. This is romantic comedy with hilarious comments and witty comebacks.
Myles Mitchell is a thirty- two-year old accountant who has been satisfied with his Hoover Vacuum experiences. When he walks into Daley's diner to have his daily lunch he wasn’t looking for love or expecting to insult the beautiful dishwater blonde hair waitress with one of his corny jokes but that's exactly what he did. He also wasn’t expecting to fall in love with her that day at lunch either. Now all he has to do is convince Yvette Luponski, the waitress from Great Bay that he is a well mannered guy that deserves a chance.
Come read this down right funny story that will leave you dying out laughing at corny jokes and a unrealistic story. This is a book that you need to read after a hard day. When you just want to sit back and read a good love story that will make you dye out laughing.
The Vacuum Chronicles was a gift from Rick Johnson and Natalie Alden. I am giving this book a review as agreed upon with the authors. It is an interesting funny and sometimes quirky story. Myles is a middle age virgin, unheard of today who seems to love his vacuum cleaner which is very sad and odd. Yvette is a waitress with an attitude owned by many women today. He is lacking social skills and has no idea what a relationship needs to be fulfilling. Together they find out how beautiful their friendship is and find the happiness both deserve. Good story if you want to laugh about situations that sometimes is faced by many of us.
