Book 6 of the Mile High Romance Series Cooper has been under tremendous stress at work. Not only was his company on the brink of bankruptcy, but he learned that his first love was killed in a car accident after they broke up. The burden of his guilt is almost too much to carry. Whiskey has kept the demons at bay. But when he meets a sensitive young man at a club, the escape he seeks at the bottom of a glass gets harder and harder to find.
If you're an audiobook fan, I highly recommend doing the series this way - it was an incredible experience going through one of my all-time favorite series this way.
My Original Review of Book 6
This one is a bit of a heart-breaker. What Cooper had to endure was hard to imagine, and he just needed love so badly. And Jet was such an intricate character - one of my favorites in this series so far.
I listened to the audio-book and Michael Ferraiuolo did a nice job with the narration. He always brings something very unique to each character, and I love his accents.
the audiobook copy of When Whiskey Stops Working was graciously provided by the author for the purpose of my unbiased review
Book and narration purchased.. This is a beautiful story of love and struggles that haunt their pasts. Brian is drowning and needs help from a white knight. Beautifully narrated by Micheal Ferralino with different voices he does a fantastic job. This deals with issues with alcoholic and suicides topics. Brian moving to Denver and leaving his first love, Tommy behind. Brian's life seems to be crumbling down while he sitting in a bar. Jet eyed the hot customer across from him drinking, he has a thing for rescuing people and senses the fellow is self destructing. Brian's a co-owner in a business and has the added loss of knowing he's the one responsible for another human's death, so he thinks. His friend, Drake is worried about him. Can Jet be Brian's white knight he's needing.. This is a fantastic book, I love this series from Aria Grace and need to read more..Highly recommended series.
With the death of his ex still fresh in his mind, Cooper hides his guilt by using whiskey to get him through his day. Jet, the hot bartender, has eyes for Cooper but is concerned with his drinking. It is not until Cooper accidentally starts a fire and almost kills the firefighter that is trying to save him, that Cooper hits rock bottom and stops drinking. But will it be too late to save the new relationship or will the baggage they both have from previous lovers bond them in a way no one else understands? Once again Aria Grace does not disappoint with this beautifully written story about finding love and forgiving yourself.
Another great instalment in the mile high romance series from Aria Grace. A contemporary m/m book about Jett and Coop, who we met in the last book. This book proves it's never too late to change and although from very different backgrounds the main characters have much in common. Can't wait for more from this series.
When Whiskey Stops Working, book six in the Mile High Romance series by Aria Grace. Great storyline! Fantastic characters! Loved Coop & Jet’s stories! Another great book in this series. Definitely a must read series!
The book touches on subjects that are too real sometimes.
As I stated above, it touches on subjects that are too real. Mental health is a big problem here in the States especially, for the military returning home and for veterans. It touches everyone to some degree. The story moved good but I didn't expect the twists.
