FILTHY: is the second book in Michelle Horst’s (Damaged Romance) series and is spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ This is Adams and Sophia’s story.

I for one am so glad we get to read ex marine Adam’s POV!! I dived into this as soon as it was boomeranged onto my kindle and didn’t put it down until I’d inhaled that last page.

PAST: In the ’Prologue’ we’re introduced to a nineteen year old Sophia, Sophia’s mother died giving birth to Sophia so Sophia was raised by other slaves until she became of age to be trained in the art of submission she has never known any other life other than the one she was dealt. Every day living within the slave quarters was a battle between survival and death. There is no place there for weakness, keep your head down, please your master and do your job.

If I can't please my master then I am not worth anything. I’ll be nothing.

TO PRESENT DAY: Now we meet Sophia at twenty two years of age. It’ the night of the party where all the guests will be arriving, this is the first party ever to be held at the house. Attending this party are five men and only one woman.

This takes us right back to the beginning of ‘Dirty’ where River & Adam were infiltrating a married couple (the Ryland’s) on the look out for two new slaves to add to their collection, The deeper we did into the world of human trafficking, the more fucked up it gets. being that this is Adam’s POV we read what raced through his mind when he first encountered Sophia. He tries to instil some form of calm and safety in her when they spend the night together before leaving the next day but all she sees is rejection.

This man is different from all other Masters I’ve had. Nothing I try works with him. I tried showing him that Im submissive by scooting cluster to him but it didn’t work.

Without any warning we’re thrown head first into the brutal punishment that was dished out to her by one of the Masters. My heart broke into smithereens with what she endured. It’s not glossed over, it’s in vivd detail, there is no hiding from or escaping from what was done to her. Every word, every sentence is stamped on your brain.

Freedom is near, now it’s a race against time to heal her. Safe.

There will be no more kneeling, no more looking at the floor, and no calling us master or mistress. You’ll call me Adam. Just Adam. Not master Adam.

MY THOUGHTS: ❀ This was so beautifully done, what could’ve been a truly dark, gritty read was done tastefully and sensitively but still may cause triggers for some. This author is truly brilliant with her ability to write such a sensitive gut wrenching story that will pull on your heart strings and play on your mind even after you’ve put the book down. In some ways I preferred this one over BOOK#1 only because it felt like I was there living the life Sophia was subjected to, the turmoil that raced through her mind thinking she was unworthy, the sadness I felt with everything she was subjected to, she never knew any other life other than the one she lived. The wrong doing done to her not only by men but women too, used and abused in every way.

This book suffered from too much repetition, especially if you have already read Book 1, Saved by Her. But if you are reading this as standalone, there will be a lot of missing pieces. So either way, is bad for a reader.

We were being told all over again about how did Adam and River went into the underground sex slave site to saved both Jack and Sophia. Which make me skim most of this part.

When they went back to the sanctuary where River keep the slaves she saved, we get see how Sophia learn to cope with her new life and make new friendship.

Every scene between Sophia and Adam was repeated in dual POV, which make it redundant. I appreciate knowing their inner feelings, but going over the similar dialogue again just make me bored.

The only thing I'm anticipating is the intimacy between them. But Sophia seems to get transform overnight and declare her undying affection for Adam, which make everything anti-climatic. Nope. Not working for me.

I like Book 1, but not this sequel.

This was previously published as Saved by Him. It's been newly published with new scenes, new cover and new editing. It's a standalone however I personally recommend you read Dirty first as these books are so good.

Filthy is Sophia and Adams story. We met them in Dirty and I'm so happy to read their story. Adam has rescued Sophia from a life as a slave. He hopes she can lead a normal life. Unfortunately Sophia's idea of normal isn't the same as Adams. Can he help her?

Really great read. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Livro com uma escrita fluida, mostrando sentimentos à flor da pele. Não mostra de maneira crua os acontecimentos como pensei que seria, mas muito bom.
Vale a leitura.

Warning: This is a companion novel to Saved by Her. The same time frame but from a different POV. You could read it as a stand alone, but I think it makes more sense to read Saved by Her first.

Warning #2: Graphic bad stuff

Sophia knows no life other than being a slave. Being beaten, abused, and degraded daily. She can't see that ending because she can't see the beginning. It is just the only life she knows.

Adam and River are dedicated to stopping the sex trade. They take risks. They put themselves in danger for others.

Adam wants to take care of Sophia. He wants to give her a do-over. But Sophia doesn't even know how to start over. She has no frame of reference. Adam needs to take baby steps.

I enjoyed the story from Sophia's POV. She is more vulnerable. More fragile. We don't get as many of the hard to take details as we did in the first book. But we do get more of Adam. And I loved more of Adam. He struggles with wanting to make t hings right and letting Sophia find her own way. Adam is patient and respectful. Oh My Adam.

** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **

Meet Sophia.

All she has ever known in her life is to submit.
To give pleasure to others, no matter the consequence, even if it means taking her soul.
Failing isn’t an option, because the punishments are too great.
So all she can do is live each day the same, with no love, no hope, no faith just so she keeps them happy.
Her body will never be her own, it will always belong to them, the monsters that lurk the corridors of the house.
She will never be free.

Meet Adam.

He has to save as many as he can.
Only if it’s just one.
He will do anything to get them out of the depths of hell.
He will do anything to allow them to rediscover themselves, have a normal life.
He will do anything to remove them away from the hands of monsters.
He will protect.
He will save.

Sophia has been a sex slave for so long that she doesn’t know any other way of life. She was trained just after her mother died, living in hell to please and satisfy the men that would come to play. She would make sure that each one was pleased as the punishments were to brutal to bare. Hope is something that Sophia never has, forever stuck in the sex slavery world.

But not if Adam had anything to do with it. Going to a sale, Adam and River made sure that they were the highest bidders to save Sophia, losing not an option. Getting her out along side Jack was their only objective. And they did it.

So begins Sophia’s story and her road to freedom.
So begins Adam’s story and his need to protect.

Filthy…..What can I say other than it’s sheer brilliance. From beginning to end I honestly couldn’t put it down. It’s raw, dark, gritty, highly confronting and at times simply heart-breaking. You get to watch Sophia and her struggles to live a normal life as normal isn’t something that she was accustomed too. You get to watch Adam and his internal turmoil trying his very best to help Sophia but not get too attached to her. You get to watch both Sophia and Adam grow, teaching one another about life, past ghosts, trust and love.
It’s simply a roller-coaster of emotions that will leave you heart-broken and wanting more.

Michelle Horst is simply an amazing author who somehow manages each and every single time to evoke feelings out of you that will leave you breathless. She writes with such depth and detail that it’s almost as though you are right there with the characters feeling every emotion. As a reader/blogger, I have read quite a number of novels, but Michelle Horst to me is simply unique. She is amazing and what she has produced with Filthy is nothing short of spectacular.

I cannot recommend this novel high enough. It’s a must read.

A HUGE 5 star read.

What the HELL just happened??? I am a little confused right now with what I just read. SO this book is the second book in a duet about two sex slaves that are saved by two do-gooders. This story follows Sophia and Adam whom you met in Dirty (book #1); however, you get the backstory of Sophia and Adam in this book. I liked that aspect of this novella; however, I did feel a bit robbed by the abrupt ending and the fact that it ended at 65% on my kindle.....I was finally getting dragged into the story of Adam and Sophia only to be told: NO MORE!!! This is one of my bookish pet peeves!! For this reason and the fact that it just seemed like a retelling of Dirty (book #1) with only a few new aspects I have to stand by my 3-flat star rating, sadly.

A 5-star favorite!

My only complaint about this sequel is the repetitiveness. Unfortunately, Ms. Horst decided to take discussions from the first book and quote them verbatim. Having just read the first book days prior, it was a bit redundant to say the least. Despite that, this book was absolutely mesmerizing! I even shed a few tears at the unexpected ending; more happens in this book that we didn't get to see from Jack's point of view. Horst is a fantastic storyteller, really bringing the character's emotions to life!

Filthy is the second book in the Damaged Romance duet, although you can choose to read it as a standalone. This installment focuses on Sophia and Adam's story. Being in their heads was an intense experience since Sophia's past is really cruel and sad and Adam has his demons, as well.
After being set free from slavery, Sophia is overwhelmed, not knowing what freedom even means, she can't wrap her mind around this concept. She feels alone, rejected, has no goal anymore, after all, she was conditionned to have one and only purpose in life: please her masters.
"I feel no urge to please. I feel no need to belong. I only feel fractured and filthy."
Adam is a beautiful character, conflicted toward Sophia's struggles, wanting to protect her, to teach her how to live and enable her to make her own choices. As their connection is obvious and their complicity grows a little more each day, Adam needs to be sure that Sophia has feelings for him too and that her reaction to him isn't one due to a conditioned reflex.
Dark stories lovers, this dark and raw story will sometimes make you cringe but you'll enjoy the characters' evolution.

I've read this book in its early inception when it was titled Saved by Him and I loved it then and liked it even more with all the extras.

As a child born into sexual slavery she has seen and done some of the most vile things. She's trying to make sense of her new world and as the saying goes old habits die hard.Sophia is trying to cope with life now that she isn't a slave. She will do anything to stay relevant and alive and becomes quickly enamored by her savior Adam.

Adams life started out with so much promise. As a Marine he went out and served his country but that country turned it's back on him when he needed it the most. He was struggling to survive on the streets and that's when River came into his life and gave him a purpose. Of all the slaves he has helped save he has a certain attraction to Sophia. He knows this isn't the best of ideas and tries to distance himself.

This book is two broken wounded people finding the good in themselves and most of all finding love. It's not rainbows and puppies it's pure and gritty and dirty. This new take on the book gives you so much more insight into what makes Sophia and Adam tick. This is a must read for fans of Michelle Horst and lovers of dark books.

Filthy by Michelle Horst is a story that doesn't give up and beat the odds.

If you were born and raised in filth is it possible to come clean. This is the filthy world Sophia has been born in to. Robbed of free will of her mind and body. She robotically does what she is told just to have a chance to breathe another day. Day in and out she feels a guiltless of being helpless. One of the things I adored about Sophia was that she wanted to make it through but not at the cost of stepping on others if she could. She's a victim to being a modern time slave and knows no other way.
Adam comes in her life under the pretense of being a master but him and his partner River are more like abolitionist. He helps teach and tries to show her that she might of born into that evil filthy world but she is nothing like them. The fact that he does all this while keeping a mannered distance letting her choose on her own was something that earned major points with me.

“You did. Your whole life you did what you thought was right, Sophia. Even though you did bad things, you didn’t know they were bad. You didn’t know any different. Now that you know it’s wrong, you fight against it because you’re good. You are a good person.”

I fell in love with the slow build up of her gaining her life back. The story brings hope, perseverance and a will to try and start a new to a damaged lost soul that drew me in.

Filthy is Adam & Sophie's story. The 2nd book in the Damaged Romance Duet. Both characters appear in book 1. I would recommend reading the first book first but it's not necessarily needed.

Sophie's life as a Sex Slave is humiliating, degrading and very raw. She knows nothing of the delicate and loving touch of a man until Adam. Never Truly believing she deserves love and happiness, Adam sets out to show her that after all she's been through that is all she deserves in life.

While I really enjoyed this book and that it is a dark, gritty and raw read, and it is an emotional whirlwind, I found Book 1 more Darker. My only criticism was that the book ended on 67% and I thought I had much more to read and that was disappointing. It was still a great and enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book and it was so heart wrenching to me to think that there are actually things like this going on in the world today.

The struggle of the h was very well written in my opinion and the H was also amazing with the way he handled the h.

Overall I think this book was not only good for the romance aspect, but in raising awareness of human trafficking in today's society.

This book had my emotions out of control!! I was mad then sad then absolutely rage filled me then I was heartbroken then I was happy. Then I would go through these emotions all over again!! This is a dark read just FYI. I don't want to give anymore than that away from this book than that. It would be in your best interest to read Dirty first but not completely necessary. But if you like books like this then I definitely recommend this book.

Previously published as Saved By Him, this book has new scenes, new edits and hotter sex!

I won't go into detail about the story but it's addictive. The writing is phenomenal and the execution perfect. I loved the development of the story as well as the characters. I enjoyed it so much and I definitely wouldn't mind if we got some more on this couple.

An ARC review by Our Bookstars Blog

There is nothing better than seeing an new book on your kindle. I was excited to get started. To say that I was a bit surprise by the beginning of this book. Its dark. Its a bit demented, but it keeps you addicted! We are thrust into the lives of sex slaves. Each brutal day they exist only to do as they are told. They are stripped of everything. Their family, their confidence, their entire existence is gone. Replace with a name and rules to follow. If you step out of line and don't please your Master or Mistress, then you are useless. And disposed of. Sophia learned quick to always to as she was told. The pleasure of a Master/Mistress is most important. She knew nothing else. She had no one except for Jack, a fellow slave. No one else could be trusted.

"I miss my routine, of knowing exactly what was expected of me. I miss being wanted and needed. I swallow hard on the tears as a heavy feeling squeezes my chest. I focus on peeling the potatoes and doing what I'm told. I focus on the now because I have no idea what will happen in an hour, tomorrow or next week. I don't know anything anymore."

Adam didn't fit into society. The war changed him. He has seen too much, done too much, he can't face everyone. But he is given a new purpose. To save those who are abused and imprisoned by monsters. But with the latest slaves to be saved, something is different. The woman who knows nothing more than the life of slavery is beautiful and innocent. His need to protect her from any more harm is strong. And a new life is what he plans on helping her live. But old habits die hard. Starting anew is hard, when all you want to do is be wanted and needed.

"Against my mouth he murmurs, "You're so f*cking perfect." I deepen our kiss and at the same time I start to rock my hips. He groans deeply and it makes me want to please him even more. We slowly rock together and it feels as if we are becoming one. I've never felt so close to another person. It feels as if he's completing me."

When Sophia desires more for herself. Will Adam be there to provide it or will her past forever stand in her way.

This book is very different than I thought it would be, and I love being surprised!

It is very dark and it certainly touches on a subject that with just 2 words will terrify you, Sex Slavery.

The book starts with a prologue that is so heartbreaking that I was already in tears before the end of the second paragraph.

We see Jack at 8 years old watching his mother die, and promising her that he will look after his brother David. After his mother dies, he witnesses her being burned and his thoughts just tear your heart out, “My eyes burn from the fire, my hand burns from the fire. My heart burns because I know that I won’t see Momma’s smile again. Everything burns”. His nightmare is just beginning.

19 years later we find that Jack is a slave, his captivity has been one of torture and abuse. He is used for the depraved, sick, twisted and truly screwed up dregs of society, who don’t care who they hurt as long as their needs are met.

Enter River, she is on a mission to save as many sex slaves as she can. She has set up a Sanctuary where they feel safe and can heal.

When River meets Jack, she wants to save him as she has others, but she’s something in Jack that is more than just her need to save him. River’s trying to pay for the sins of her father who was in the sex slave trade.

River and Jack set out on this journey that is at times horrifying, heartbreaking and dark. But, it is also filled with hope and bravery and love!

This book is not for everybody! It will tear you apart inside and leave you seriously angry that anything like this happens in our world.

It is also a very beautiful story and if you can handle dark then you must read this!

Dark with the shock factor brilliance yet again Michelle Horst

This is Sophia and Adams story.

Sophia was rescued along with Jack, both held as sex slaves in a mansion, it's the only life they knew, lived and breathed it

No eye contact
kneal before the master
speak when spoken to
Never ask questions
Perform whatever sexual acts your told to
Your job is to please the master or be killed.

So how does one survive when all you know is taken away?

You reinvent yourself, you learn new ways, new feelings, new body language and experience that foreign thing called love, Sophie did this with the help of Adam.

Sophia; You become the life your given to live.

your surroundings consume you until it's soaked into the blood pumping through your veins, until it's the very air you breath.

I didn't find this as deep as the previous book, Jacks pov was more detailed about what it was like to be a slave he expressed his feelings more helping you as a reader to bond more with his character.

Both stories are parelell, Sophie healing process which you saw glimpses of in the previous book and other events, you just get a better inside view from both Sophie and Adam into their thoughts and feelings.

Adam also has a troubled past and it was heartwarming to see two people come together who although both been through hell were now at a place we're they were meant to be, together.

I would advise reading Saved by Her first it really does give you a better insight to how it all began and both together makes this a beautiful dark read, a gritty and shocking walk through the lives of two people who prove that no matter how dark you've been planted the light always shines through in the end.

Michelle Horst has a way with causing an emotional torture on my heart and soul, yet repairs it with her beautiful stories of hope, love and survival. That’s what this series is all about, and I’m in love with it and The Sanctuary, where it all happens. We got River and Jack’s story in book 1, now it’s Adam and Sophia’s turn.

Sophia gutted me in a way I can’t quite explain. She’s obviously been through hell, yet she’s still this innocent girl who just wants the chance to live and love. In steps Adam, who’s made it his goal in life to protect and repair her completely. We see the connection between them straight away, even if they can’t see it or admit to it themselves. Not to mention, Adam does something so special for Sophia in one scene that I was literally swooning to death! This is definitely a dark and twisted story, yet we get to see that beyond the darkness, there’s a shining light you can reach if you’re able to surrender yourself to the possibilities.

One of the most precious characters to me in this series is Miss Ella. She’s a matriarch of sorts, and without her presence, I don’t think this story would ever be the same. She literally gives hope to the hopeless, and loves her family and friends with a passion. Absolutely breathtaking, and I can’t wait to continue this journey into the Sanctuary and the people within it.

*****5 AMAZING STARS*****

*ARC kindly provided by this Author for an honest review*

I personally say that you should read the first one in the Monster Series as it gives you an insight of the whole foundation even though its based on Jack & River. As we know River & Adam rescued Jack & Sophia.
And in this one its based on Adam & Sophia... OMFG I was freaking made up when this one hit my kindle and was dying to read!! Life sadly got in the way LOL

It's dark, gritty, raw and emotional!! I just absolutely LOVED reading this story, I was kinda scared that I would come to love Adam more than Jack and it turns out that I was right... Seriously how can you not love how strong alpha male wanting to help everyone?? He's so swoonworthy to me.

It's official I'm a HUGE fan of this Author as every book she's written that I've read, I've not been disappointed like EVER!! As she always delivers an AMAZING story that will strip you down emotionally then build you up stronger than ever.

Saved By Him. After reading Saved by Her I knew I had to get my hands on this. And I'm so glad I did. This book was full of so much emotion, pain and eventually love. And I fell in love with everything about it.

Sophia and Adam. Both who have been through more than one person can handle. Saved by Him is about their journey as individuals and a couple. How they find their strength in each other and the love they thought they never deserved. All they had dealt with led them to let go of their past and embrace their future with open arms, freedom and more love that'll last more than a lifetime.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I'm excited to see how Michelle can make the next book more amazing than this one. Because this was so brilliantly beautiful.

After I've finished the first book of this series I was so curious about Sophia and Adam's story and I've really enjoyed this book.
The main characters' story is so beautiful and heartwarming even if it isn't easy they find the courage to fall in love leaving their pasts behind them and making new memories.

This was a great follow up to Dirty the first book in this series.

This is Adam and Sophia's story.

This book is very dark with a few scenes of torture and rape so be aware it's not an easy storyline to read about but it is so well written by Michelle Horst that you can't look away and stop yourself from reading about all the depravity that Sophia goes through and her journey of self discovery.

Sophia was born into slavery and doesnt know any other kind of life but trying to please her Masters. Her life is one of complete submission and pain which she accepts as normal. Adam is a man that has suffered a different kind of pain in his own life with the horrors that he has seen as a soldier. Their story is one that will touch you, break your heart and make you cry.

Sophia is a very strong character that you cant help but admire for her strength and courage for not breaking from all the evil that has been done to her, Adam shows her that what she has suffered was wrong and he becomes her friend and savior by rescuing her from her life of hell. Adam takes care of Sophia and becomes her protector, it's so endearing, he always makes sure that she is ok and gets her to understand what life really should be like, that her old life wasn't normal and I loved his character all the more for not trying to take advantage of her naivety.

This story had my stomach twisted up in knots and was so gripping to read that I read it all in one sitting. This is totally another 5 Star read from a very talented author of this genre of books.

Filthy by Michelle Horst is book 2 in the series and it is a definite dark romance. Emphasis dark--This book is Sophia's story, we met her in book 1 (Dirty) where she was rescued by River and Adam alongside Jack(Dirty). I would recommend reading book 1 to fully understand book 2.
Sophie's life started out pretty horrible... She was a Sex Slave and it wasn’t the pretty sex slave that you are imagining. Her life was humiliating, degrading and oh so brutal. She never knew love or anything gentle until Adam. She thinks she doesn’t deserve true love, anything truly good and righteous in her life yet Adam disagrees. Adam sets out to show her different and he goes about proving her wrong and giving her everything that was missing.
Again this is a very dark read so be prepared for some very graphic scenes. It is necessary, I believe, to show where Sophia came from –that depravity- and the journey she goes thru, with Adam where she learns her own self-worth. I loved Sophia’s strength in going thru her past and her courage in realizing that she has a good man in Adam. Oh and Adam-what a great man he is in becoming her tower to lean on, becoming someone who loves her for who SHE IS yet just being him and being a good honest man.
This was such a great story that I enjoyed reading, even with all the raw, horrible things that happened. Overall, this is a wonderful dark love story – Adam and Sophia make a great couple.

My Rating: 4.8 stars *****

Used, Abused, Mistreated, Sophia was born a slave, became a sex slave and her story is emotioal, raw, dark and freeing at the same time.

Filthy is the second book in the Damaged duet the first book being Jacks story in Filthy.

Jack and Sophia were both sex slaves, don't look at the master, do as the master says, no free will, there life as sex slaves are all they know until River and Adam pose as a couple at one of the mansions parties and save them.

Sophia becomes close to Adam who teaches her how to be a person instead of the robot she has grown to be. Born into that world everything to Sopha is now new, even conversations and not being told what to do feels alien. Adam and Sophia become close over time both characters are damaged in their own way strong in their own ways , they become a perfect and pure match for each other.

Sophia's story is dark, shocking it will grip you and touch your heart.

Filthy is told in dual pov's and leads to a hea.

*contains senes of sex and violence

FILTHY is a stand alone Damaged Romance Book Duet #2. It is a companion book to DIRTY, a Damaged Romance Duet #1. The characters appear in both books. This new book is Adam & Sophia's story and told from their point of view. Previously released as SAVED BY HIM, but new cover, new scenes, plus new editing. Child molesting & abuse are really hard triggers for me, and again as in DIRTY, must admit that I am not the best person to try to review this book. There is sex slaves and brutality.

Sophia was born into slavery. Her mother died giving birth to her. The only reason Master Cameron even kept her was because he hoped that she would look like her mother and be of value to him. As soon as he felt she was old enough, she was put to work as a sex slave. This is what she had been trained for her entire life, and the only life she'd ever known. But then he saved her.

Adam Stone was a damaged hero. He owed his life to River. She saved him and because of that, he'd forever be in her debt. She found him on the streets. After he retired from the Marines he wasn't able to keep a job. He was too unstable. After the things he had seen out there, there was no way he could even pretend to be normal. River gave him a purpose to live. He worked with her to rescue sex slaves, to atone for her own father. When Adam & River saved Jack and Sophia, he felt that he needed to help Sophia in anyway he could. Being together just might heal himself, too.

Loved this Duet!!

This story broke my heart. But it was beautiful too because of the connection between the characters.
I just loved Adams and Sophias story.

Sophia was rescued along with Jack from the sex trade industry where she was kept as a slave and made to do despicable things in order to survive.

Adam has had a rough time too, his past haunts him. He too is damaged in a way that can never really be fixed.
So rescuing the slaves and giving them a new start in life makes him feel better about himself.

Sophia is different Adam feels a connection to this beautiful girl that he's never felt before. But she's damaged and he doesn't feel right pursuing her.

The connection between these two is strong and they are useless at trying to deny it.
Adam has to show Sophia how to live as a free woman, how to feel and act as obeying is all she's ever known.
I loved seeing Sophia grow she really surprised me with her strength.

This was such a emotional duet to read because it was so horrifying to think of Jack and Sophias existence as slaves.
But I loved these books so much because seeing them thrive made the heartache worth it.

If you've never read this Duet you are missing out because these books are amazing and addictive reading.

*****5 AMAZING STARS*****

Wow!!!..... I've already read the old version (Saved by Him) but I swear down I absolutely LOVE this one as it's just way better!

I highly recommend that you should read the first book - Dirty before reading this one, but having saying that its not necessary that you have to as this one is based on a different couple Adam & Sophia where in the first book is based on Jack & River. But to get the core of how it all began then I would say read Dirty lol

OMFG I was freaking made up when this one hit my kindle and was dying to read!! Life sadly got in the way LOL but when I finally started, Holy moly I just couldn't put it down!!! Stories like these should be READ end of!! I LOVED IT!!!

Addictive, challenging and emotional..,,

I read this dark romance last year in an earlier format and loved it then….the rework of this story has created an absolutely enthralling and emotionally charged read…. Sophia is a slave…it is the only life she has ever known but then fate steps up, in the shape of Adam and she is given not only her freedom but also the opportunity to experience love….

Sophia and Adam take it in turns to narrate their stories…. Sophia has encountered the worst kinds of human cruelty and depravity but despite her degradation she remains strong and resolute…. Adam, an ex marine, has also had more than his fair share of darkness in his life, together they are stronger and more complete but their pasts are always in the background and threaten their futures…the author is so skilled at writing realistic and complex characters even the secondary ones are intriguing and have depth…

Whilst Filthy is a standalone book I think it added to my understanding and enjoyment that I had previously read Dirty the story of River and Jack who also feature in this book…this is most definitely a dark book dealing with dark matters but in addition there is hope, redemption and humanity in the pages …..this is an addictive, challenging and emotional five star read ….I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review...
