Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes it’s better.

Compass Girls, Book 1

Sienna Compton has it all figured out. Her life’s goals are set and it is all systems go. At least, it was. Until her long-time boyfriend Josh threw a ringer into the master plan, requesting a “break” from their relationship. Now she’s left alone during the long, cold Wyoming winter, questioning what her heart has always believed to be true love.

Daniel Lennon is facing an uncertain future. When a tragic accident leaves him unable to pursue his career as a professional bull rider, he finds himself at Compass Ranch, working to help Sienna’s father, Seth, build his horse breeding business. One look at Sienna has Daniel envisioning things he never imagined wanting—a permanent home, love, marriage—and he’s willing to use all the red-hot tricks in his sexual arsenal to melt the ice surrounding Sienna’s broken heart.

When lust turns to genuine emotion, can Daniel convince Sienna to take a chance on something different and unexpected? Can he persuade her to consider a new path, one that will lead her directly to his arms…forever?

Warning: Roping and riding, past and future, cold winter and fiery desire, lust and love all come together in this new Compass series. Saddle up and hang on. The Comptons are back!

Warning: Roping and riding, past and future, cold winter and fiery desire, lust and love all come together in this new Compass series. Saddle up and hang on. The Comptons are back!

Winter’s Thaw is the first book in the Compass Girls series, and such a great story. I haven't yet read the original Compass Brothers books, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Well, I might not have known what was coming, but I got everything I could hope for, and more.
From the cover: Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes it’s better.

One look at Sienna has Daniel envisioning things he never imagined wanting—a permanent home, love, marriage—and he’s willing to use all the red hot tricks in his sexual arsenal to melt the ice surrounding Sienna’s broken heart.

When lust turns to genuine emotion, can Daniel convince Sienna to take a chance on something different and unexpected? Can he persuade her to consider a new path, one that will lead her directly to his arms…forever?
Although they start off on the wrong foot, Daniel and Sienna are great together from the beginning. For Daniel's part, the "it's only sex" nature of their relationship was just a way to be close to Sienna, who was pretty much lost after her long time boyfriend asked for some relationship space. This kind of storyline doesn't often work for me, but this time it did. It took Sienna awhile - which is to be expected after coming off a seven year relationship - but watching Daniel try to help her forget Josh and make a new "life plan" was fun, romantic, and definitely hot!

The Compton clan - both old and new - makes a great supporting cast. They're a close family and I loved their banter, their protectiveness, their devotion... everything about them shines, and that's one of the things I most enjoyed about the story.

And speaking of the story itself - I won't recap the book blurb but I will tell you, there were times I laughed, times I sighed, times I fanned myself, and even times I cried so hard I couldn't see to keep reading. I guess it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway – I loved this story!

The bottom line: I've read and enjoyed other books by Mari Carr, but nothing by the Carr/Rylon writing team. Based on the book blurb alone I expected this to be a very sexy story, and of course it was, but it turned out to be so much more than just an erotic read. It's a story about living, loving, and letting go. About stepping outside your comfort zone and, even though it might be scary, opening yourself up to an amazing world of possibilities, giving yourself the chance for a future filled with excitement, passion and that once in a lifetime love.

What a great start to the Compass Girls series!

4.5/5 stars

Sexual content warning: This story contains very light bondage and a bit of anal play.

Many thanks to Samhain Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. What a pleasure it was!

"It’s funny how we can trick ourselves into thinking we’re perfectly content, simply because it’s easier than taking a chance on finding true, genuine happiness.”

Synopsis:
Sienna Compton has a plan for her future and she expects it to fall into place without a hitch.

- ”Since they were fifteen years old, she and Josh had walked the same path, hand in hand. They’d chosen to attend the same university after graduating from high school and their master plan had never wavered. She would become a nurse, he a teacher. They’d come home to Compton Pass, get married and live happily ever after. Sienna was still committed to that dream.”

Unfortunately her long-time boyfriend “wants a break” and that unexpected crinkle creates an interesting opportunity for Sienna......in the form of newly hired ranch hand Daniel Lennon.

My Thoughts: The following are my thoughts about this book:
General:
- Trigger warning: declining health of a beloved family member
- Setting: Compton Pass, Wyoming

Characters:
- Daniel (26, Ranch hand at Compass Ranch):
- His current life’s ambition is to just be happy
- He was a professional bull rider but a major accident left him with a career ending injury
- Daniel is at Compass Ranch to help with the new horse breeding business.
- The following words/phrases were used to describe Daniel: easygoing, nice

- Sienna (age: 22, nurse):
- Has a bit of an “all work/no play” lifestyle and not a big party girl
- Very close with her family
- The following words/phrases were used to describe Sienna: sweet, sexy, a puzzle, set in her ways, no fun in her life, strong, opinionated, bright, funny

Story Thoughts:
- Their bedroom scenes aren’t boring. Sienna realizes she is interested in anal, captive fantasies, bondage, sex in public places, spankings, etc. Daniel desires to give her everything she wants and more. This made the story quite steamy 🔥

- I understand this is a spin-off of a different series. So, if you’ve read that series you would probably like all the character appearances from other family members.

- I loved the closeness of the cousins. I got a sense of the other girls personalities and I enjoyed the interactions between them.

- The health diagnosis brought some reality to the story. 😢

- It’s a short story, so the characters are a little shallow, especially Daniel. I didn’t feel like I knew him well.

- The scene with Josh at the restaurant was a bit ridiculous. No one would ever ask like that.

Overview:
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: No. I didn’t read any previous books and I had no trouble following the story.
- POV: Dual POV
- Tropes: boss’ daughter
- H likable? Yes
- h likable? Yes
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 22%
- First time they sleep together: 48%
- First time they say I Love You 93%
- steamy? Yes
- OW/OM drama? Yes. Sienna is “on a break” with her boyfriend of six years (Josh). He appears throughout the story.
- H/h cheat? Sienna had a boyfriend (Josh) when she shared her first kiss with Daniel
- Time apart? No
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? No
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? No
- Did I swoon 🥰? Daniel was a nice guy but I didn’t swoon
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? HFN
- Epilogue? Yes
- Recommend? I wasn’t blown away, it was ok. If you are invested in the Compton series you would probably love this

Quotes
"She’d often complained about being named after a crayon. And not even one of the pretty colors. A brown one. However, the way Daniel said it, slowly, almost like a caress, made her think of sex and sweaty sheets and naughty, naughty things."

“There aren’t any guaranteed tomorrows, so it’s a smart idea to take advantage of today.”

"Seems to me your well-organized life could benefit from some shaking up.”

“He was her heart. And she was his.”

“Love comes where it comes. And we just have to make sure that when it shows up, our heart and our eyes are open enough to see it. To feel it.”

This story is a personal one for me because it has deep roots in why I became a reviewer in the first place. While there are many brilliant authors out there, there are two that I credit with my addiction to romance novels and one of them just happens to be Jayne Rylon. I remember the giddy feeling I had after reading the first book in the Power Tools series and was hooked instantly simply because I had so much fun reading it. When I discovered the Compass Brothers I saw a whole new side of this author and how brilliant she and Mari Carr are as a pair. As I read Silas’s story I became hooked on the Compton brothers and found myself anxiously awaiting each new story. When the final book of the series came out I was simply heartbroken. Not only for the fact that the series was ending, but also the emotional story within that gripped my heart so tight I couldn’t breathe. Throughout the stories, you get involved in the lives of the Compton’s and the love they have for their family. Their hard as nails father, J.D. and his dedicated wife Vikki, are the glue that keeps their boys intact to guide them through heart ache and true love as each one finds their way.

When I heard about the Compass Girls, I was not sure what to expect but I knew that my Comptons were back in action and I wanted to see how Jayne and Mari were going to make this work. I can honestly say I was blown away and found myself enthralled once again. It is a sad day when I am so involved in a book that I read it during church because I couldn’t bear to put it down until I finished (I know I am a sinner, but it was worth it). This series takes place about 21 years after the last Compass Brother’s story and follows the daughters of Sawyer, Sam, Seth, and Silas. Winter’s Thaw is Sienna’s story. If you are not familiar with the Compass series, her father Seth had gotten himself into a predicament when he kidnapped his now wife so that he could convince her to marry him.

Sienna, now 21 years old, has her entire life planned out with her boyfriend Josh. Sweethearts since they were in grade school, the two never knew what it was like to be with anyone else, love anyone else, or to even have a broken heart. As far as Sienna was concerned, Josh was going to finish school, take over his parents’ store, marry her, and have the perfect family. What she was realizing, was that her plans are not always followed the way she would like them to. Josh has been unpredictable lately. He is doing poorly in school, wants to spend more time with his friends, and just seems to irritate Sienna rather than make her happy. She thinks that it is just a phase and eventually everything will work out as she plans, but those plans are about to change the moment Daniel moves in at Compass Ranch. Sexier than any man Sienna had ever seen, he made her think of sex, sweaty sheets, and naughty, naughty things.

Daniel Lennon had an eye for Sienna the moment he saw her. He knew she was the boss’s daughter but from the moment the two of them began arguing in his trailer, he knew he wanted her. She had a fire within her that he knew was begging to come out and he wanted to be the one to make it happen. After taking the time to get to know her better he realized she had a boyfriend. What he didn’t understand was why. She seemed to be upset by him more than anything else and Daniel just knew that Josh wasn’t satisfying her in more ways than one. When he kisses Sienna and proves just how true that statement is, Sienna begins to question her future plans and whether or not she and Josh really do belong together. After Josh finally makes an appearance during the holidays, Daniel overhears Josh telling Sienna that he needs a break from their relationship to figure things out. Talk about finding an excuse to have sex with other women! Daniel knew that Sienna’s heart was about to break and he was going to be the one to fix it. As he does his best to be there for her each day, he finds himself lying awake at night thinking about her more and more. That is until Sienna shows up on his door step wearing nothing but a nightie and a smile. Looks like Sienna’s rules may have changed after all.

As this relationship begins, Daniel and Sienna are not sure what to make of it. The initial plan of no strings attached sex, had turned into nightly, no holds barred sex that quickly became routine. Sweet Sienna realized she liked a little pain with her pleasure and her sexual appetites quickly surpassed anything Daniel had imagined. He was falling for her. This places him in a predicament, because Josh still calls Sienna and dangles her by a string. Daniel knows Sienna’s feelings have changed too, but he isn’t sure how to confront her and help her face the truth.

While this love story will grip your heart, there is another story to be told. Vikki, Sienna’s grandmother, is having difficulty remembering things. Forgetting names, conversations, and daily happenings. Sienna and her cousins know that Vikki is ill but they are afraid to confront their grandmother with the truth (break out the tissues). When they realize that Vikki knows more than she lead on, Vikki explains what the last days of JD’s life were like and how it broke her heart watching her sons helpless to do anything to stop their father from dying. He lost his dignity and had to rely on his sons and she did not want to be the same way. Determined not to make her sons go through that again, she must make some difficult decisions and counts on her granddaughters to keep her secret just a little while longer while doing her best to share her memories with them so they are never forgotten (I sense another heart break in future books and I keep crying just thinking about it). It is then that she shares the truth about how she and J.D. met, and how perhaps a wonderful man, may not be a wonderful man for Sienna. Learning the truth about the amazing relationship her grandparents had and seeing how happy her own parents are, Sienna realizes that her heart knows where it belongs. She just needs to let go of her life plan so that she can finally stop thinking about the destination and enjoy the journey instead.

Winter’s Thaw is a heartfelt journey that will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and of course squeal at the amazing encounters that happen between Daniel and Sienna. The passion between the two characters is raw, honest, and results in some of the most passionate and heated encounters to express what their words could not. Jayne Rylon and Mari Carr have created one of the most beautiful families with honest, raw emotion that can only be described as breathtaking.

This was a book quickie - short, steamy, and satisfying. It's a cute romance set out West - it's got a ranch with a set of cousins in their mid-twenties, looking to find their way. The first cousin is Sienna and she's had her life set out before her since her teens. She's graduated and is a nurse in town. All she's waiting for is her teenage sweetheart, Josh, to finish college. Right from the start, you get the idea that he has other ideas and at Thanksgiving, Josh suggests a "break". Sienna agrees and that plays into the plans of the recent hire at the ranch, a former rodeo star / now ranch hand Daniel. The action from here is steamy and the plot has few surprises, but it is fun and sweet. There are 3 other cousins to go and I might try to find them as well.

Once again, the marvelous writing team of Mari Carr and Jane Rylon, have given the fans what they wanted. A much beloved family is finally coming full circle with a new generation of Comptons. The new series features the four daughters of the Compass brothers, and I’d call it a new beginning. You got to believe me when I say that when it comes to the Compton girls…the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. Longtime fans are sure to be saddened, at what is sure to be another bittersweet ending to an enduring love that has spanned the arc of both series. Like always, I can’t give too much away, but I’d like to think of those tears that I’m sure will be falling, as a sign of two old lovers finally reuniting for eternity.

Compass Girls Book #1

Sienna is Seth’s daughter, and at first, I thought she was the most boring of the four cousins. She basically let her douche bag boyfriend walk all over her. Then, luckily for her, the douche bag suddenly wants to take a break from each other. FYI… he wants to screw around with some other sweet things while he’s still keeping his longtime girlfriend on the bench. At the suggestions of her much spunkier cousins, Sienna wises up and turns on to the sexy new cowboy her dad just brought home.

Luck was with Daniel Lennon the day he came to Compass Ranch. Right away, the sexy cowboy sees something that he likes. But the bosses daughter makes it clear that she is off limits since she’s almost engaged to another guy. But you know how those cowboys are….they see something they want and they’ve just got to have it. Daniel is no fool, so when Sienna gets dumped, he takes a chance and turns on the cowboy sexy to get her into his bed. It wasn’t too hard, that fire had been sizzling for a while. Pretty soon, they were burning up the sheets in Daniels bed. But Daniel’s not just looking for a little snatch on the side. He wants to claim Sienna’s heart for his own. He’s playing for keeps and he uses all his charm to win her away for real.

My thoughts: I’ve been a longtime fan of this writing team since first reading the Compass Brothers series. As soon as I heard the news that they were once again teaming up to do a series on the daughters….well, I just knew I had to have all of the books. I knew they would be out of this world delicious. How could they not ? But would they really compare to those steamy stories I remembered reading ? So, just to be fair, I went back and did a quick re-read of the entire first series, as soon as I got this book to review. Oh my…. those books were still as hot as I’d remembered. So, I know you’re all wondering… so, yes! Winter’s Thaw is every bit as sexy and romantic as those first books were. And just as I did before, I fell fast and hard for the cowboy hero.

Needless to say, I fell in love with Daniel right from the start. No surprise, cowboys are my weakness. And Daniel was one sexy cowboy ! I loved how he took charge. But he also had a tender side that was clear as day in those scenes with Sienna and little Doug. And those love scenes. Good Lord Almighty ! The writers damn sure write some steamy love scenes. Reader beware : You might have to take a cold shower before you get to the happy ever after.

On the other hand, I didn’t like Sienna very much at the beginning of the story. I’m not a fan of the doormat heroines. But I liked her just fine once she let go and found her wild side. Sienna proved that she was a true Compton by showing up at Daniel’s place wearing a sexy negligee. She took that first step and guess what…she was hiding a very naughty side under all that sweetness. Still, because of my fixation with the sinfully sexy cowboy, I couldn’t help but be mad at her for playing fast and loose with Daniel’s heart. Of course, I can’t give away the ending…but for a minute there, my heart dropped right along with Daniel’s.

As always, the dynamic duo of Mari Carr and Jane Rylon, have given the readers another wonderful series. I loved the first series, the Compass Brothers, and I’ve been faithfully awaiting this new series ever since hearing that they were working on it. I think they’ve created some extraordinary characters, with the four daughters, and I can’t wait to read the other stories. Just like their fathers before them, each cousin has a uniquely different personality, which indicates four very different and exciting stories. Sadly, there seems to be a bittersweet, but common thread, that will most likely span all four stories. Get ready for a lot of tears and I’d advise that followers have a few tissues on hand while reading this series. I know I’ve already shed a few just with this first book.

I enjoyed this long awaited book immensely. It had everything. It was fun and exciting. And it was emotional and heartfelt. It was overflowing with sexual heat. It was sweet and romantic. The characters were vibrant and made me love them, even when I didn’t like them. The love affair between Daniel and Sienna was passionate but it also sold me on the endurance of that love. It was the compelling storyline that made me made believe in that love. And those accolades are all due to the brilliantly talented writing team of Mari Carr and Jane Rylon.

I loved this story and I’m sure that I’ll be reading it many times again. Just as I still enjoyed the quick re-read I did of the Compass Brothers series before starting this book. This one is a must read for contemporary readers who like their romance on the spicy side.

It snowed here this weekend. So I was really just looking for a little of this:

And WINTER'S THAW was about the only thing left on my library's digital collection, so a lot of others must have had the same idea. Fortunately for me, this was exactly what I wanted.

I haven't read the original series that inspired this spin-off, and I 100% don't think you need to (though I will be investigating it at some point). But this was a fun little wintery romance, and I will definitely be reading the rest of these at some point. Best thing was, this actually has close female relationships and they even have at least one conversation about something other than men.

The writing was standard erotica fare - good, but nothing to blow me away. I actually found this to be a bit short, and would've liked a little more character development. But neither of the main leads were annoying, and the sex scenes were plenty steamy, so overall it was a win-win for a quickie wintery weekend read. I'm continuously surprised by how much I enjoy this whole cowboy romance genre. Whodda thunk?

Very good! Absolutely loved Daniel and Sieana. Their story is good and the sex is hot. Daniel was so sweet, but so strong and alpha. He could be no other way in order to win a Compton girl's heart. Afterall, Sieana is Seath and Jody's daughter.

The Compton Family is great. It was good to check in on Seath and the whole gang. The Comptons are as strong as ever but another very sad situation is happening to them. It's tragic even. Sort of my personal worst fear. But we have three more books before we come to the conclusion. I can't wait for Hope's story. She is Silas, Lucy and Colby's daughter afterall. Will she follow in her parents footsteps??

I recommend this book but start with the Compass Brothers Northern Exposure. Be warned there are all kinds of adventurous sexulal situations explored in this series and some very sad family stuff. But that's the great thing about books. You can be as adventurous as you like without any risk! Happy reading!!

Good start to this spin-off series. I liked how though we know the series is sort of set in the future (because Compass Brothers was current), the actual year wasn't really discussed, and the technology of talking to a person via video on a cell already exists. The authors didn't get all sci-fi on us.

I confess this didn't get as kinky as I expected in the beginning, when Sienna confessed her fantasies to Daniel. But it was still an incredibly sweet (and steamy) story. I was glad that Sienna came to her senses about what she really wanted. And I loved how her cousins were helping Daniel figure Sienna out.

I think I liked this one better than any of the Compass Brothers stories, and I liked them well enough. That means, for me, that this is a good start to a new series and I look forward to the next one.

WINTER'S THAW has its ups and downs. I found that there were other people than the main protagonists that played a part in this story, which is why I suggest readers read the Compass Brothers series. Family drama takes center stage and when you don't know or particularly relate to the family as a whole, it's difficult to be invested in the overall storyline.

There were times when I felt the family drama took away from the romance. Hot, raunchy sex wasn't enough for me to believe wholly in the romance. While chemistry is there, the romance lacked the potency needed for me as a reader to believe in Sienna and Daniel.

Another really good short story by Mari Carr. This one involves a recent college graduate who has planned out her whole life with the boyfriend she's known for years. First problem is that she graduates but he decides to stay at least another year at college -- not in the plan. Second, he comes home and wants a "break" in the relationship so he can spend the holidays with friend in Florida. Third, her dad hires a new ranch hand, a former rodeo champion sidelined by injuries, and those "tingles" have started for her. I think there is no doubt where this ends up, and its really a good story getting there, and as with all Mari Carr reads, lots of good steamy scenes.

This is my first Mari Carr read, and i enjoyed it very much! I like the way the characters develop, and how minor characters, both from the previous series "Compass Brothers" and characters who will later be explored in "Compass Girls",are introduced and woven into the story... it makes me want to read both series!

Winter's Thaw is a very sweet story, not overly kinky, more implied kink! There were hot sex scenes though, particularly in the barn ;D ! Sienna was a sweet, likeable character, and I rooted for Daniel from the start!

A great start to the Compass Girls Series... well, I'm coming back for more ;D

Just terrible. The writing was amateurish, as was the storyline. The novel was also very poorly paced.

I need to immerse myself into the Classics ASAP (in order to remind myself that I do indeed still love to read).

I've read all of the Compass Brothers books and was really excited to see the story continue with their children. Sienna and Daniel's romance was as wonderful as the original series. A lovely tale that will leave you craving the rest of the of the series!

Winter's Thaw sets up the 4 book Compass Series revolving around four young women, all cousins, living on or near Compass Ranch. I love Mari car's books and this one did not disappoint. I love the blended family ties, the love they all show grandma Vivi, and the interesting mix of personalities in the cousins.

Sienna Compton has her whole life pretty much planned out. When her long time boyfriend, Josh, throws a wrench in things with his unexpected request to take a break from their relationship Sienna is lost trying to figure out where her life is headed now.

Daniel Lennon arrives at Compass Ranch with Sienna's father to help with his new horse breeding business. Daniel saw his life in the rodeo circuit cut short after a horrific accident and is now trying to figure out where he belongs. His first sight of Sienna has him thinking he's maybe found it. But the beauty is obviously going through the upheaval of a troubled relationship and isn't trusting of relationships in general.

Sienna is in for a surprise when lust blooms fast between her and Daniel. She quickly realizes Josh had never met the needs she has deep inside, but can she possibly open her heart to another man or will Josh's return have her clinging to the past?

I only wish the authors would have included a little more detail of the horse breeding portion of the story to help support Daniel's attempt at building a new life for himself.

Sienna Compton has had her life mapped out since she was a teenager - she and her boyfriend, Josh, are going to get married and live happily ever after. She thought Josh was on board, but he changed his major at college and now he's going to spend Christmas vacation with friends instead of coming home to hear! Daniel Lennon was a rodeo star who quit after a major injury, and how he's come to Compass Ranch to help Seth with his horse breeding program. And Sienna thinks he's hot!!!! But she has a boyfriend!! After Josh asks for a break, Sienna decides to have a fling with Daniel. This book was short and sweet (well short and hot, really) and a lot of fun. There is one big complaint - if you've got your fingers in a girl's butt, wash them before touching her somewhere else!

Go With The Flow

I am so happy for an extension to the Compass Boys Series! Sienna has had a plan her whole life, fall in love, get married, have a family. She thought she had that with her seven yr relationship with Josh, until he asked for a break...WTF? Daniel, injured in a bull riding competition, takes a job on The Compton Ranch. There, he meets Sienna, and he has tunnel vision from then on. Making her see what they could have is his number one goal. This book was filled with the angst of young love, the fire of new experiences, steamy, slightly dominant sex and raging chemistry from both Daniel and Sienna! This is a great start to the Compass Girls, I can’t wait to read the rest!

Hot stuff

Vienna Compton had her life planned out. She thought she would be marrying Josh. They were dating for years. Now he wants a break from her. He is in college.

Then she meets Daniel Lennon. He is the new hired help at the Compass Ranch. Seth hired him to help him with horse breeding. At first glance there was sexual attraction.
He used to be a rodeo star but was injured and had to quit.

I love all the characters in the book except for Josh of course.

Great read

Daniel and Sienna’s story is filled with hope, romance, steam and some family thrown in for good measure. Interesting to read a romance where the male lead, strong, virile and handsome, falls first. This is the start of a series that promises to be everything one could want from a contemporary romance. I look forward to reading the next book and confidently give this 4.5 stars, trust you will too!

Sometimes the plans and dreams we set ourselves, aren't what we wanted them to be. And other times it's all thrown up in the air by someone else changing the rules.

A beautiful book that reminds us to live for the day and to enjoy the roller-coaster that life is, coz sometimes what life has planned for us is beyond anything we could ask for.

HOT ENOUGH TO MELT ICE🔥🔥🔥

Sienna has had her whole life planned from a young age and has never deviated from the path she set. Then Daniel shows up at Compass Ranch and everything that she thought she knew goes out the window. Their journey together was beautiful and SEXY and the characters are very well written. I CAN'T WAIT to read the next book in this AMAZING Series!!

This was a very sweet, hot read. " Take off your clothes" He shook his head. There was something heady, something hot about having Sienna bound , naked in his bed while he remained fully clothed. " I realize old habits die hard, but you always tend to forget-- you`re not calling the shots Sienna. I am." She licked her lips. " Then call them faster, I`m dying here."

Wow! This is one heck of an introduction to the female offspring of the Compton Brothers.  These women are strong, smart farm girls who have a plan for their lives.  Together they can do anything.
They are going to need each other as their families age, and they branch out on their own journeys.

Love Sienna's journey.  The one who thought she had it all figured out :)

Oh my this book was hot and steamy and I love it. Can't wait to read book 2. The cousins, the dads, the mothers and most of all the grandmother and the love of her life. All put together in one amazing book.

I really loved this book. I've been fan of the Compass Brother's series so when I heard there was a series of their kids I jumped on it! It was nice seeing a little of the compass brothers and how life turned out for them. Loved this story and can't wait to read the rest.

Super cute story. A giggle and a smile all the way through. I really enjoyed the flow of the book.

Winter's Thaw is warm and loving with hints to other family members

The loving scenes are so well written that you can "feel" the touching!

I totally recommend this book.
