Set The Pace:
"It's like a storm in my body. Thunder and lightning and rain raging through me and threatening to turn into a hurricane."
Jasper is sinful, top of the world, powerful, and gets himself all caught up in a scandal which we find out is so much more complicated that at first known. Insert his childhood friend who is also knee deep in said scandal and all kinds of angst ensues. I didn't think these two had a chance when their childhood demons were left out to air...everything in the world is against these two, but I was stuck in my reading chair cheering for them anyway!! I'm glad I had the duet in a boxset so I could dive right into the next book as soon as I was finished because you will not want to stop reading!!

Turn It Up:
"She's all bright light, and I'm all darkness. She's an angel, and I'm the devil she doesn't need to get in bed with."
Utterly exhausted from what this poor couple was dragged through in the first book, the Author ups the ante...whew!! But if at all possible, the couple gets hotter, and I became more engrossed in their story. Just when you thought you figured it out, it twisted in another direction and I couldn't get enough. The ending was adorable, and I couldn't have asked for a better journey for these characters, it was a wild ride!!

This was a really good read
Kim Karr has a special way of making the reader feel the connection between the two characters. Much like how she did in Connected and Torn
This is a story of once friends (when they were 8) to lovers - 20 years later.
This is also a murder mystery but the one thing that was great about this book as the back story (the murder mystery) didn't overlap the love story.
The ending was ever so sweet

for me this was a 3.5 star read. The concept of the story sounded GREAT. Murder, sabotage, fast cars... however it fell flat. Their were characters in the book that we could have did with out. They didn't really do anything. by the second book, the story line was a hurry up.
