I received Endgame (E, book 5) from the author in exchange for an honest review.

“Today, we throw off our chains for good. We emerge into the world like a newborn child, screaming our entrance. Today is the birth of a new people. A people of hope.”

My God those words were strong. After FIVE amazing books, Kate Wrath has concluded the E series with multiple battles, wars, and losses.

After trying to understand her past, Eden is now embarking on a journey to free the people.

What I loved a lot about the book is that all the past characters, whether they were lost or put aside, were all brought back and got closure or an end. My heart felt the most every time Jonas was mentioned, every time Oscar was mentioned.

And then there was Matt. Oh my God I had mixed feelings about him. Without Jonas in the picture *wipes a tear......or a hundred* I was rooting for Matt to win Eden's broken heart. But then Matt kinda got psychopathic and that bothered me. Yes I knew that Matt was a tough, hard, and murderous person, when needed to be, but he was just too good to be considered a psycho. Buuuuuut, Matt was only kind and generous with Eden, not others, so it can make sense that we didn't know Matt can be very aggressively deadly at times. And then Matt did something to protect Eden, but left himself completely defenseless. That too hurt me. I basically cried and reread, then again, reread the moment.

Moving on before I start reliving the moments.....

Eden embarked on a quest to free the people, but with freedom comes war, and with war, comes enemies. Eden and her group fight multiple fronts: her enemies and the people in control of the Sentries and the erasing.

But with courage and the willpower, Eden becomes the hero the people needed. And I get the closure I was rooting and hoping for.

I'd like to give a farewell to Eden and Apollon, West, Nitro, Duck, Lozzi, and the others, but not for long I'm sure....

"This moment. We've all been waiting for it since before we were born. Our underdeveloped hearts cried out for it silently in our mothers' wombs. Freedom. The feeling rolls over me, swells in my chest, and tumbles up to my head. We will never go back. No matter the blood, the despair, the destruction. We will never go back."

I came across Kate Wrath's first book of this series almost a year and a half ago. It was an Amazon Prime free download. I read the first paragraph, put my kindle down and sought the author out here on Goodreads. I've been following ever since. She's a beautiful person. Get to know her and you'll say it too. I'll always be at every release party.

I love Eden. I've loved her through hundreds of pages. She failed. She succeeded. She loved. She lost. She IS a hero. Despite what she says, "I'm not a hero....I'm just someone who's had enough." I have to throw in some passionate love for my semi evil overload - Matt. Kate knows I can't end this series without a Matt shoutout. Character crush. Thank you for keeping him alive.

Kate weaves magic out of that imagination. Her novels are captivating. Her world is addicting.

"But that's the thing, isn't it? None of us really know how far we're going to reach, when it comes down to it. Every word we speak has an echo. Every echo has an echo. Sometimes they reach all the way into eternity."

I would like to thank the author, Kate Wrath, for giving me an electronic copy of Endgame, in exchange for an honest review.

For Eden, trust must be earned. When she starts to run out of allies, will Eden find the courage to lead her people regardless of the outcome?

Endgame is book 5 in the E series, although a better title might be EPIC. With movie style battles, tremendous showdowns, huge betrayals, and misguided notions, this book delivers a worthy conclusion to a fantastic series. New characters join with familiar ones, as the author brings together those in Eden's periphery to give readers a complete sense of closure. Startling revelations are the norm of Endgame, as readers will quickly discover. As this book builds upon the foundation laid in the previous four books, I strongly recommend that readers new to the series start at the beginning. It is impossible to know the nuances of Eden's character, or that of a number of characters that are consistently presented on the pages of Endgame, without exploring the experiences as they appear. I have become fully invested Eden, Apollon, and the rest of the inhabitants and will miss their adventures as they fight for a world that is fair for all.

An absolutely perfect ending to a wonderful series! The first book in this series was on my recommendation shelf in my Kindle unlimited list. I was thinking it's probably a lot like " The hunger games" and thought I would give it a try, I was hooked from the very beginning! This series was so much better than the others in its genre. I love that it left no loose ends and I had no lingering questions. I don't feel it has gotten the praise it truly deserves. I love that the main character, "Eden/ Lily" is so strong and determined and although she does rely on her male counterparts, she also gained her strength from them. They balanced her in a way that didn't come off as cheap or weak. The author, Kate Wrath, knows how to write a character. Their personalities seem to jump from the pages, they are believable. I really tried to like "Matt" and I tried not to like"Matt". I think the way their relationship left off was absolutely perfect. I really cannot say enough good things about this series, Highly recommend!!

Thank Goodness, The End+

Seriously, one of the most boring, unbelieveable endings ever! You really couldnt think of anything better then walking into a secure building, blowing it up and all is right in the world 🙄🙄🙄 and of course the herione lives along with other key players while our brain is a-ok as well.

My recommendation, read tge first two books, skip the Jason & Lily dibocal as well as book 4 and read the lwst three chapters in this book! Youll save yourself the time & brain cells.

I love this series so much. It shocks me how parallel it feels to present day. This series is a heart wrenching and a beautiful tribute to the value of friendship and chosen family. I love Eden and Apollon and West and Matt as characters and think throughout the series they are shelled out so fully that you really feel like you know them. I don’t know how this series hasn’t become popular, because it’s truly still my favourite of all time.

Great adventure

This was a fantastic finale to the E series. I must admit the series lost me somewhat in the middle books but this was back to action packed fun and death-defying adventuring. Long running questions were finally answered and some nasty pieces of work got their just desserts as well!

Finishing is so bitter sweet 😢

Things happened the way I kind of assumed they would...except for Matt. I mean, I guess there's still the POSSIBILITY that in the future things change for them, however, I won't get to read it! After everything she's been through, I just hoped Eden would've had MORE of a HEA. Still loved the book though. So very sad it's over 😩😩😩

Really good, a fresh character with a great back story, I was gutted about the one event in the book though (I won't share it), and felt it was unnecessarily cruel and was left unresolved for me, it spoilt the series for me a bit.

WOW! A beautiful conclusion to an outstanding series. I am impressed. If this series was to be made into a television series, it would be right up there with the Game of Thrones. Kate (the author) writes this series in the first person. Writing in the first person like this can be difficult. However, she pulls it off in style. Rarely did it get the I, I, I... I never felt trapped in the character and it allowed her the freedom to provide surprises in the way we as individuals experience in life. I haven't really read any other reviews. I am sure there are critics that didn't appreciate writing in the first person. I personally feel that this style was a challenge which was meticulously tackled. Thank you Kate for an excellent read. I look forward to more of your books in the future. I am sure your career as a writer will be glowing. If you are looking for a series of books to read, look no further. You have found it. I feel certain that you will devour it with zeal.

This has been an amazing series and I have enjoyed every part of it.

Eden's journey has been eventful, from book one where she finds herself dumped after being mind-wiped, her numerous battles, her losses and loves, her struggle with revelations and so much more.

Excellent character development adds so much depth to the series, as does the range of displayed emotions.

Superb plot, descriptions and sense of place make this well-written story, as well as the rest of the series, a brilliant read.

Highly recommended.

Love it

Kate Wrath is one of the best story tellers I've read this year. E is an amazing story full of everything I love action, adventure, romance and post apocalyptic world. From the first book I could not put it down because I had to understand why this world was the way it was and she delivered with each book you got a blimps into what was happening and why. The last book brought everything together. Awesome book great characters and fantastic world building.. Loved it...
