December 7, 2016I can't rate this book. Parts of it I really liked and some parts I really didn't. I knew going into that it was going to have some safety triggers but I was still curious about Rhett and Darby's story after reading Scandal (the 3rd book in the series) so I decided to give it a go.
The things I liked:-
Even though the characters can be frustrating at times I got very emotional invested in them. And it was lovely to see them get a HEA.
The plot was very addictive. I found it hard to put down.
The things that bothered me:-
The relationship had too much angst for my liking.
The heroine was a runner.
Also they were just too many sex scenes. I would have liked more sweet scenes.
OW drama.
There is also quite a few safety triggers.
Despite my mixed feelings about this book I am still a fan of HJ Bellus.

*4,25* Emotional stars from me!!!
What an emotional roller-coaster, the second book after Dirty is really heartbreaking. Darby and Rhett started something calling it at first as an open relationship based clearly on sex, lots of fit (it's filled with many hot scenes) but afterwards emotions started to grow for each other, scarred with this situation is Rhett who had his heart broken in the past so now he is afraid to let emotions in for Darby and for that reason he hides behind sex saying that he can't settle for one woman but honestly that's far from the truth because well he has already fallen for her just pretends the opposite.
Darby on the other hand has demons hunting her, nightmares every night shadow her sleep because of a dramatic and painful event that happened in the past. Emotions are clouded, she also can't accept romantic feelings and happiness to fill her life and she is very afraid to take this next step, the result of this situation is that she is drowning again and again.
Overall this story was very intense, both Rhett and Darby will overcome many obstacles to finally be together the way they deserve. Definitely recommend it and i can't wait to read Chloe's story.

My first impression was better character and chemistry build in the beginning. Also helps that this was going on in book 1 and we get the continuation of Zane and Ava. That's the beauty of binge series!!!
Rhett and Darby were pretty explosive and interesting - But it didn't take long for me to start counting the amount of pages I turned before they had sex again. I want to say Max 6 pages, if they weren't doing it they were thinking about when they get to do it. There was so much storyline and better stuff they could have expanded and dug into. Which made the ending seem so rushed!!!! For some reason I am invested and am really hoping the final couple in book 3 brings this series up to where I hope it to be!!!

OMG. I am absolutely IN LOVE with Rhett and Darby. I loved how much they loved each other! SUCH PASSION and INTENSE CHEMISTRY! Holy hotness—the pages sizzled!
“Rhett,” I whisper onto his lips. Instead of responding, he kisses me gently. “Why do you make it so easy to fall in love with you?”
Rhett and Darby go through a TON of hardships, and by a ton, I mean A TON. Their lives weren't easy, by any means, and their relationship wasn't either. They battled inner demons and outside forces that were very much against them. It was heart-wrenching at times to read, but in the end, everything was worth the pain. Have tissues ready. I promise you will need them.
Overall, I truly loved this book more than book 1, Dirty, which I devoured, by the way! Rhett and Darby were PERFECT for each other in every way possible. Their love story is HOT, raw, passionate, and heart-breaking all at once! It's quite the roller coaster, but one I highly recommend! FIVE FILTHY STARS!

I can't but the correct words into this review because in the words of Rhett, "I can't unlove it". It has so many elements that made it one of HJ Bellus best book written EVER. Yes, I said it and am a fan but this book sits on the shelf with some of her other greats and is beyond a shadow of a doubt on my 2016 favorites.
Darby and Rhett, yes, double tits crossed with a cock, yes.... (channeling my inner Rhett). I laughed, cried, planned HJ slow torcher, and apologized for my evil thoughts, cried, and went momma bear... After all that I let out a sigh. I am about to take a drink to relax because this book is just that darn good.

HJ Bellus - Filthy (The Reckless Series #2)
So this book got me feeling mixed emotions.
First, it was steamy. It started with a hot scene after a hot scene, and another one after that. Too steamy that at one point, I asked myself, is there anything else going on her aside from them banging everywhere?
Then came the moment where they agreed to try it out. Without that much history narrated, no flashback except for that nightmare, I thought it seemed too good to be true. I even had to check if I was near the end because they seem to be working out well.
Until came the girl’s paranoia, where she gets insecure and distrustful in every turn. It made all the good reasons they pointed out at the wedding scene useless. Actually, everything became pointless because she herself said she wanted to try, and then the next minute she’s saying she can’t.
And just when she was going to really try this time, she saw the scene with the ex and decided to storm out.
What I did like with this book is the plot twist, where she found out that she’s actually adopted. Now while I love this unexpected turn of events, for some who never read the other book it may be hard to comprehend why it was such a big thing.
There’s the confrontation scene, the action scene, and the hospital scene. Now the opening of the chapter where she was dreaming of the grave got me; I really thought he died there. That was another shocking scene, not really a turn of events, but a dream of a sad ending.
Overall, this book has good point and bad points. The sex scenes were hot, but too much scenes like that is kind of a bit boring, no matter how hard the male lead character is described. It can be sort of an insta-love, because the history wasn’t really fully disclosed, but I like how there were surprises dropped.

Amazing story! Lots of hot loving going on, but a serious relationship between a man and woman too. H.J. Bellus did a awesome job on this book, both of these characters deserved each other. Read to find out if they end up with one another.

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is the second book of the series, Darby and Rhett's story. I liked this book better than the first book which had storyline issues and this book doesn't really resolve those. You do need to read the first book before reading this one. This review contains spoilers.
Darby is Ava's friend and Rhett is Zanes friend from the book Dirty. During that book you know that Darby and Rhett are hooking up, in this one you get to experience it. We start out with Zane and Ava's wedding and Charlie their daughter is 3 months old. Darby is suffering from nightmares due to her part in the death of Oliver from book one and Rhett moves in with her. They realize they are falling for each other but both are scared as they neither one have been in a real relationship but decide to give it a try. Rhett is still stripping which is a problem for Darby, they start opening up and sharing parts of their past lives with each other.
Darby comes from a political family that abused her as a child. Rhett is scared of relationships after his highschool girlfriend left him, aborted his baby and moved out of state. On the one night a year the strip club has women strippers Darby decides to turn the table on Rhett and let him know how she feels by stripping herself. He isn't happy and they have heated words and she walks out but forgets her keys. When she goes back in she finds the local slut in Rhetts lap and assaults her and ends up in jail. After she is bailed out she realizes they need to take things slower but see's Rhett with Gia his old girlfriend together in a compromising position. She is devestated and leaves town for a few days. During this time she opens a letter that she received a while back and finds out her parents are not her real parents. She decides to take them down for all they did to her as a child and destroy her fathers political ambitions. During this altercation Rhett is shot and is in critical condition. He ends up with limited use of his left arm. Darby meets her real mother and at the end of this book we are set up for the next book. The third friend from the first book Chloe is in trouble and they go to get her from an abusive husband. Looks like she will end up with Kip the bartender from the strip club.

I am a fan of Heidi's writing from the get and up to this day, I just can't turn my back on her. She just knows how to grab her fans attention. Knows what her readers could possibly want. Her writing gets better and better with each book she spits out like there's no tomorrow. With Darby and Rhett's story in FILTHY, you'll be pushed and pulled to your limits. A lot of ups and downs that will have you frustrated at times but will make you want to keep turning page after page. Rhett and Darby's relationship may have started under circumstances I do not wish for anyone to happen but through it all, they have always been there for each other. But since they have both been unfortunate when it comes to relationships, they are diving toward a position they both aren't really sure of what's to come. Will they both be strong enough to stay together after it's all been said and done? Or will they both be better off as friends?
Love it HJ Bellus!!! I need more, please. <3

Rhett and Darby...they're filthy and I loved it! The chemistry between the two was off the charts. The storyline sucked me in and I couldn't read it fast enough. I really like the authors writing style and sense of humor that was peppered throughout the book. Like book one, my emotions were all over the place, and I must say I liked this book more than the first! She did a really good job at showing the depth of the characters and throwing in some twists to trip me up. Can't wait for the next book!

I've got my feel good meter tapped out. I loved the first book Dirty and now totes in love with Filthy!
Darby and Rhett couldn't be more wrong for each other but end up being so damn right!!!!
Stripper construction worker and a fashion blogger. What an an likely pair, but do they ever have chemistry. What turned out to be some fun under the covers and well anywhere really turns into real love. One that is truly hard to find. Loved this book just a little bit more than Dirty!!

Wow this Book was Amazing
The flip flop and twisted tale of two very hurt and broken people, Darby and Rhett. He was a manwhore who used sex as a crunch to survive and Darby used sex to fill a void and a destructive past. Both struggling to overcome somehow found a lo e that was unbreakable between themselves. This story was amazing and so well-written. Must Read!!

I started this series and read all 3 books in one week. I was in tears and laughing in all of the books. The books have a great storyline that is not far fetched and realistic. The characters is living daily normal lives all off us do and that is why the books are so great. Thank you for a great series. I am just wondering about Cruz?? A book coming out for him soon?

My first mistake was reading this out of order. I was confused on some parts because of that, but you can still piece those parts together. Other then that, AMAZING story. Loved Darby and Rhett so much, their witty humor had me laughing out loud. Lots of excitement and emotions.

Wow! Awesome book!!
Wow!! I love this book!! Darby and Rhett are so different but so alike too. We meet them in the book Dirty. Their story continues and is one crazy rollercoaster ride!! It shows how love can survive anything.

Mind blowing story
I have had this book for awhile and finally decided to read it. OMG why did I wait so long to read this? It blew my mind and I loved it. Yes there is a lot of sex in this book but the back story left me speechless. Don't wait like I did and read this now!

Hilarious!
Rhet and Darby are HILARIOUS!!! The banter between them will make you laugh but they love they share is sweet and real. I love they way they are each others half to their whole. Their story wasn't all sweet but determination and love held these two together.

There is so much joy, sadness and heartbreak within these pages that I just couldn't stop...I loved it!!!

Wow I have just finished this book & honestly I'm a little lost for words.
Having loved Dirty - book 1 in The Reckless Series, I already knew book 2 was going to be a killer. I guess I just wasn't ready for hom much it would gut punch me.
Rhett is Zane's best friend & Ohh My Gawd i love him. Cocky, arrogant & real cheeky charmer with enough swagger to melt your panties clean off. He has the ladies literally falling at his feet & makes no bones about just how this man craves sex - like it's on his mind 24/7. One night is all it takes to change his life forever. Running from his own past, he struggles to keep his demons at bay, constantly making sure his heart is closed off, he doesn't need to feel that sort of devastation again. But he can't keep away from Darby, she is the sweetest drug to consumes his heart & soul. Can he overcome his past for a future he craves. Can he convince Darby she is the one that owns him now & forever.
Darby. Damn this girl broke my heart. Truthfully at some points I wanted to shake her, but it isn't until the story plays out that she really does just steal your breath. She is beautiful, funny, sassy & strong. With her chin up, she has erected this facade, hiding her true self so deep that she doesn't think she will ever be free. Free from the past, free from the shame, free from the guilt, but most importantly free to love. Her story is so tragic, that it does make you wish you can take away some of the pain for her.
HJB pulled the rug from under me with this one. The sexual chemistry is electrifying & honestly the sex scenes will leave you breathless, but this is just the jam between the bread. You quickly realise that their journey to each other, has been heartbreaking & that sometimes you need to take a leap of faith to be brave enough to break free of the chains you have clung onto for so long. Their story was emotional, beautiful & oh so sad, so make sure you have some tissues at the ready. The ending slayed me - not a one I will forget for a long while to come.
I can't say to much more as there are so many plot twists that will seriously make you hold your breath, scream at your kindle & cry ugly tears, but that's for you to read & discover for yourself. I will say that you wont be disappointed!

Darby. Damn this girl broke my heart. Truthfully at some points I wanted to shake her, but it isn't until the story plays out that she really does just steal your breath. She is beautiful, funny, sassy & strong. With her chin up, she has erected this facade, hiding her true self so deep that she doesn't think she will ever be free. Free from the past, free from the shame, free from the guilt, but most importantly free to love. Her story is so tragic, that it does make you wish you can take away some of the pain for her.
HJB pulled the rug from under me with this one. The sexual chemistry is electrifying & honestly the sex scenes will leave you breathless, but this is just the jam between the bread. You quickly realise that their journey to each other, has been heartbreaking & that sometimes you need to take a leap of faith to be brave enough to break free of the chains you have clung onto for so long. Their story was emotional, beautiful & oh so sad, so make sure you have some tissues at the ready. The ending slayed me - not a one I will forget for a long while to come.
I can't say to much more as there are so many plot twists that will seriously make you hold your breath, scream at your kindle & cry ugly tears, but that's for you to read & discover for yourself. I will say that you wont be disappointed!

Filthy is Darby & Rhetts unloved story that is full of twist & turns for the two of them and a ton of orgasmic sex scenes.

I loved Dirty, but Filthy blew me away. The author really amped up the emotional level in this book. I was completely floored by Rhett and Darby. These are two very complex characters. Each with their own demons they are trying to overcome. The storyline was incredible, and it flowed effortlessly. I was hooked, on the edge of my seat. With each new twist and turn, I was addicted all over again. There are plenty of HOT, sexually charged scenes that will leave you needing clean undies (possibly relief with B.O.B). But what had me so engrossed was the emotional content of the story. There were a few moments that made my heart stop, waiting for the outcome. Another couple that has etched their names on my heart.

Darby is used to flinging her sass and running from everything that could potentially tie her down. She has no idea that coming to this sea side town with her beasties could possibly make her question everything she's used to avoiding. The sun, the surf and a certain someone could render her speechless and change how she sees herself and the idea of a man in her life.
Rhett sachets his sexy ass on stage and directly into Darby's line of sight making his presence absolutely unavoidable. Eyes meet and sparks fly, or possibly explosives go off, and these two find a weird pull toward each other that makes them both take a step back and look at what could possibly be going on. They have pasts that make them both gun shy, their preset isn't super stable and lord know what's going to happen in the future, but their stubborn personalities make them game for trying to figure things out together.
Sexy, complicated and down right page turning, this second installment in the Reckless series delivers it all. It carries on the theme of finding oneself in the best possible way. This book was an easy read and recommended if you love a strong caveman lead paired up with sweet stubborn sass. Love Heidi Jo and all her books so this was an great read for me.
